The Beast of Bray Road is an interesting book. The author writes about various encounters with what some people consider a werewolf in rural southeastern (?) Wisconsin. It's an interesting read. I actually own it and recommend it for anyone interested in cryptids or werewolf legends/mythology.

Hello MNWOLFMAN:

That is interesting I have not read the book yet but I,m
looking for it( I live in Puerto Rico).
I am Very interested in any thing that had to do with wolves,
I was told several years ago that my spiritual animal is the wolf,
also there is a legend about Shamans been able to change in to
wolves , other animal and persons. I understand that the late
Chief Fool's Crow of the Lakota Sioux cold do just that.
Also here in Puerto Rico I'm know as the wolfman or latinwolf.

wolfspirit,

If you can find it (Beast of Bray Road) I'm sure you will enjoy reading it. The author, Linda S. Godfrey, is working on another book along the same lines. If you are interested in finding other books about werewolves, I suggest the following titles:

The Book of Were-Wolves by Sabine Baring-Gould

The Werewolf in Lore and Legend by Montague Summers

The Beast Within by Adam Douglas

Each contain info and history pertaining to werewolves and werewolf lore.

The Beast Within was one hell of a book. Too bad the movie was a freakish mess.

Actually Never Heard of them, but I was looking into getting some new books to read. I'll take a look into them.

The author has had legitimate dealings with werewolves eh? Maybe he has also met the Bigfoot, leprechaun, unicorn and vampire. Or maybe the author has taken a little too many drugs in his youth to have too firm a grip on reality.

There is an actual "Werewolf Disorder." In these cases the humans, actually have a rare genetic mutation that causes them to grow hair all over their bodies. The disease usually resides in families and is carried over on the "X" chromosone. There is also another disease related to werewolfs. It's called "Lycanthropic Disorder." Now in this case the subject actually believes that he or she is an actual werewolf. The subjects are still human of course but, very dangerous. So I guess if a person with the "Werewolf Disorder" and the "Lycanthropic Disorder" would probably be the closest thing to an actual "Werewolf."
But to change from human into animal is impossible.
