I haven't had the honor of playing one yet (Though I did get to carry it, and hug it, and love it), but I will be soon, since a friend is opening a gaming store, and I've got myself a lifetime membership. grin2.gif

From what I played its good, the games however probably don't reflect fully on what the system can do. So were going to have to wait until developers mature enough to make a good game.

I played Kameo, 2k6, and Tiger Woods. Talk about double standards X-bots talk how nintendo games are kiddy and in Kameo the main character is a fairy, anyway its a cool game. lots of things to do interesting battles and the graphics are noticeblt better then the x-box. 2k6 is also good the gameplay plays just as good and it pretty fast, great graphics. I love golf but I hate sim golf but in tiger woods their is online play and these guys are serious online.

My friend should be getting PD0, PGR3 and other games tomorrow I will comment on them when I play them.

One thing that kind of suck is the 360 is loud especially when its loading, at times its quiet but wow when that disk spins it could get louder then the tv. It also gets hot depends though. For some reason it only got hot when we played Kameo.
seeking
i played it, its bleh, nothing special besides the graphics, and even the graphics were a let down, not as good as i expected, hopefully playstation 3 will meet my expectations
xstortionist
well considering i sold my xbox360 for 2,800 on ebay...i give it a 10+ other then that i never played it.
Super Pancake
my friend got 2 more game PGR3 and Madden, I'm heading over their soon.

I tried calling him earlier there been reports of PGR3 crashing the 360 over then net like the paris hilton sex tapes.
DR. YO

i just got a chance to play it, its everything i expected:D
such great graphics!

seeker, im willing to bet you played it expecting horrible results.

phyc- if your opinion of somthing is low befroe youve actually done it, when you do it, it WILL seem disapointing because thats what you wanted.
my opinion was high, so when i played it, i had loads of fun, and was very happy. seeker, you, like so many others, didnt give it a chance from the beginning.

Kameo was originally supposed to be a GameCube title, but got pushed to xbox and now to the 360

Here's my unbiased opinion:

The graphics one the Xbox 360 are really good if you compare it to the Xbox. However they could be much better. Obviously game developers have not met their full potential for the next-gen yet, so I can't wait until that time comes. The gameplay of the games I've played so far are no different from the original Xbox, and as far as I can see, the games that are currently out are (hopefully) not using Xbox 360's full potential what-so-ever. So far, the only thing different from the orginial Xbox is that the 360 as better graphics, but like I said, that could change when the game developers get better at making games for the netxt-gen.

With that said, I am now waiting to see if Sony delivers on everything they said the PS3 would be. I have no doubt it will be a good console, but we all will have to wait.
beatle boy
yup, once they make the game go full throttle, well be see'n better games, although the launch titles werent that bad!

one thing is, you'll have to be seeing better games, 'cause so far nobodys used the full capacity of the DVD-ROM i tink its like 15GB!!!!!!!!!!

which means they could put in more graphics coding, you know, polish the anti-aliasing2, a few more shaders, .10 less FLOP's (floating lines on point)
et's daddy
ok my review isnt as good as some of yours im sure as the last system i owned was an original playstation.

so im not up on all the current games and all the great features.

also, when i was a kid i got an atari 2600 when they 1st came out, and these days most anything makes that look awful.

also also, i got my 360 free from the every10minutes thing, so that may also bias me.

seems so far so good

the graphics in my probably lame old person opinion are great.

i rented a few games the other day and found out i needed to install an update to play them as they are for the old xbox

that was disappointing as im not a computer whiz or anything, but i hope i got it figured it out and can install the update tonight and play those games before they are due back friday.

ill reply again and let you know how i did with that update.

on a side note: did anyone else here win one ?
including myself i know 3 people that did
and we all used points from soda lids i had
go figure lol

I played on one for a few minutes. The game was King Kong, i was not really impressed with the game, however the graphics blew me away. Such realistic lighting on the rain-soaked floor, looks real! I'm sure the console will show us it's true power in about a year, when software developers get the nack of the hardware (as usual for new consoles).

I'm sure though that the experience was helped by the HDTV that i was playing it on. However I will keep a keen eye on this console. like this generation, I plan on owning all three next gen consoles (I do not descriminate thumbsup.gif )

The graphics were good when I wasn't playing it. When I was playing it I was so focused on what I was doing that the graphics really didn't stand out as much, and thus some details were pointless. In CoD 2 I was too worried about getting shot to even notice little details, like the texture on walls. These details make it look great in screenshots, but in the game I really didn't notice them at all. The gameplay of CoD 2 was very good, and although it took a second for me to get used to the controls, they became second habit quickly.
The graphical improvements over the last generation consist mainly of better lighting, better particle effects, and all those little details. CoD 2 and Kameo had good physics with lots of things moving onscreen almost all the time. Kameo is a good solid game, however, despite the graphics it plays like it was first programmed when the N64 was out. Oh wait, that's because it was. hmm.gif At least you don't have to collect a bajilion bananas, like in DK64. Perfect Dark Zero, has graphics that are 'standard' for an Xbox 360 launch game. Which means that they are good. But, like Kameo the controls are of an earlier era and work very similarly to Perfect Dark and in turn, Goldeneye. Which is far better than the 'sequel' Goldeneye: Rogue Agent.

I wish I could do the same, but I cannot withstand the loss of over a thousand dollars in less than six months. I'm just talking about all the 360 stuff, since there are still no firm dates for the Rev or PS3. The Rev is coming out sometime in 2006, and the PS3 could come out anytime from spring 2006 to spring 2007. So if you can't wait any longer, just get the 360.
seeking
to who ever said it, i was actually not expecting anything from the 360, im not that big into video games, my opinion is unbiased

graphics could have been better

eveyrthing else is the same besdies the controller, controller is a lot better
Incubus420
Yeah i have played it, im playing it right now and i am happy to say that it is all microsoft said it would be and then some. the graphics are beautiful and the performance likewise. even halo 2 looks better on here, and performs faster. i am completely confident that playstation 3 isnt better than 360 after reading one of the links hailo left on the other thread regarding xbox 360. all i can say is just wait, microsoft is saying that there will be more coming every week leading up to christmas so dont lose faith just yet. i had to spend the night in front of a store in the freezing rain/snow for mine, but it was worth it. yes it was.

I own one and I have PDZ, Need For Speed Most Wanted and kameo.

The system itself is quite impressive, wireless controllers are a dream, I love the fact you can turn the thing on and off without getting up, no matter what game or movie you're watching you can always bring up your menu and sign into Live if your friends are expecting you.... even if your watching a movie and they send you a message you can pause the movie and engage "private talk"... which is pretty cool... the games are also incredibly better, the graphics are amazing but the sweetest thing is what the 360 can process... the main reason Kameo gets so hot is because there's so much stuff going on the screen...

PDZ - damn good game.... kinda wish you could jump though... graphics are amazing and the gameplay is excellent, I love how they rate you against the best in the world too... whole new aspect of gaming there

NFS:MW - All I can say is, if you enjoyed NFS:U2 but missed the police chases from NFS: Pursuit then, then most wanted is for you..... it's so awesome when your doing a race from point A to B and you get the cops on you... when you finish the race it takes a snapshot and shows your stats and stuff.... but as soon as you get back to the game you have to shake the police (which can be damn hard)..

Kameo - Definitly for a younger crowd but very impressive none the less... on the first stage it's snowing... there are embers falling from crackling fires... dragons are flying overhead and there shadows pass on the crowd very nicely, meteors or something is striking the castle your on.... it's just amazing how much more they can do....

This is for Seeking - The graphics will get much, much, much better once developers have a chance to see what they can do.

Bottom line is this basically, if your an online gamer then the xbox 360 is the way to go... if not, then wait for the PS3 (but I'll guarantee the online won't be near as nice) and see what it can do..

.... and I don't even have a high def TV yet...
Super Pancake
I played Madden 06 same ol game (I fear EA will release this for the next 4 years) some parts are buggy.

PGR3 the best game I played so far on the 360 (I love racing games) best graphics I ever seen, new game modes, The create a race track feature is just awesome and the cars are cool and fast.

My new rant on the 360 is the bc list the games currently on it suck except for some. My friends 360 is having issues playing Half Life, and Freedom Fighter. Hopefully the list grows and better emulations come out. I also thing microsoft is holding back some game kind of odd The old madden, PGR 1,2, are not on it.
Incubus420
oh if you are having problems playing old xbox games its because either: 1. you need a hard drive to play them. 2. you haven't downloaded the newest content from xbox live required to play the game 3. the game wasn't one of the ones microsoft said are playable on the new system 4. some or all of the above

at first when i tried to play halo 2 it was messing up, but thats because i hadn't downloaded all the updates and etc. now it works better than ever. WaY better.
Super Pancake
My friend got a premium pack, and has x-box live but I don't know if he downloaded anything, and the two game I mentioned are backwards compatible.
sub_x0ne
So far i've played Call of Duty 2. The detail in the games are great but so far there aren't any games using the systems potential. That's why it's best to wait atleast 6 months before buying it.
TaintedDoughnuts
In my opinion, the 360 really hasn't impressed me enough to make me say "dang! I need this now!" Sure, it's got great graphics, a faster processor, etc. But aren't these upgrades really just for the better graphics? And besides, I'm afraid my mom's gonna buy me the "tard pack"(the core system), thinking she got a good bargain *shivers*. I'm gonna see what the Revolution's got to offer before I make a choice thumbsup.gif

laugh.gif That was funny Byuu94 thumbsup.gif So how many of you got one of those defective 360's? and is it really as big of a deal as the MSM says?
PadawanOsswe
I was able to try out Call of Duty 2 on the 360. AWESOME Graphics, a little too realistic. such a high level of detail that you can read serial numbers on the weapons!
beatle boy
NO, its absolutly not the big deal its made out to be, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOME DEFECTIVE AT ANY CONSOLES LAUNCH.

the reason is simple, if you have 700,000 sold in one day, OF COURSE a few will be defective, as a matter of fact, the amount of defective consoles for any system stays the same during its whole life, but after a few months the number of them being bought decreases and so does the number reported defective.

700,000 sold+1,000 defective+ 10 DAYS!= complaints

3,000,000 sold+10,000 defective+ 1 YEAR!= no complaints due to the time span between defective reports

the defective # per year stays the same, get it?
Roberto
I own one and its all good execpt the graphics have not released thier potentional we will have to wait for next years for the delvelopers to release the power of the 360. And Halo 3 is coming out
wrighty
I got one for Christmas, the newest version out. Only 100 odd in the world. I have no games yet, Im going out tomorrow with my Xmas money to get King Kong, Fofa RTTWC 06, Need For Speed, maybe some more.

But I have seen the graphics and they rule. Plus you get a cool setup, with a chat online section with email and so on, a game section where you can also download demos and trailors, movies and music section and a XBOX live section which I don't have.

I also got some cool head phones with a speak thing to plug in the bottom of my control. Sorry but I don't know what they are called.
Dando Kast
What's the differance with the new version?...the only problem mine has is it slows down sometimes playing old xbox games(and that dreaded imprint when playing Halo 2 on Live)....but I attribute that to the emulator software....but then again playing Ninja Gaiden in slow mo is just so cool!
XSAS_Daughter
the one my brother got for xmas is one that doesn't play old xbox games but i am not sure if there supposed to I think you can play them by something that you load on to it my dad was asking my brother it but he didn't want it he just wanted to wait for new games.

If anyone has one they don't want, I'm open laugh.gif I can't buy one until.. Geez.. Late 2006 at best! I need a entertainment center for my tv ($1000-2000), and I also need a sectional couch ($1000)... I could probably get PS3 for my birthday.. This time at launch I'm staying at walmart the whole day / night. I can't let the Xbox360 incident happen again.

XBOX-360 IN AUSTRALIA NOW

Ok, now that the massive lettering has caught your attention tongue.gif I noticed something yesterday. I was in Cabramatta when I passed a shop with a massive CHEAP - XBOX360 HERE NOW!

Considering it isn't officially due out in Australia for quite some time, I'm guessing these guys imported it from overseas. Knowing Cabramatta (there are some very dodgy dealers there), i wouldn't trust such a claim actually, but I was really wondering if there were any pitfalls to buying an imported console (apart from the fact that I won't be able to get games without importing them too). Are they compatible with Australian products. More to the point, is it legal to sell this in Australia?

What do you think?

Regards, PA

I have only played one in the store, because I cannot find any good deals. Right now my only hope is to win one at Limbo Auction.... Come on baby, Papa needs a new xbox360!

You can play it here but your TV needs to be NTSC which most are anyway. I would just wait since you get an official warranty and they will help if something goes wrong
TylerDurden0083

What exactly is the deal with the two different versions of the 360? The "core" and the regular systems.... I don't want to pay a ton of money for the worse system!

I tried to figure it out on these auction websites like Limbo and Ebay, and they are not clear at all.....
