Hello UM Members! Hechtal here. I'm looking for some support in this from the Metaphysics, Astrology & Psychic Phenomena folks. The reason behind this research is simple and straightforward - there has been a lot of debate in this area recently, and I am just trying to uncover facts. I want to make it clear that I'm not out to disprove or put anyone down, I am just trying to gather information. None of the information I want is too personal, I want to remain as general as possible to remain fair and objective. The questions below are for folks who have any type of psychic ability, i.e. any type of extraordinary mental talent. Please review the questions, and answer honestly!

hechtal, what do you wish to conclude after gathering all this data. I'm not psychic, just curious.

This is the start of a survey, which I hope will shed some light onto Psychic Phenomena, and if there are any common traits that I can cross reference with users. I'm taking this from a middle-of-the-road standpoint, and I'm hoping to get some hard facts. In this first round of questions, I'm hoping to see if abilities are gender dominant, age dominant, or location dominant [most profiles at least have a country location]. I'm also curious about the commonality of traits, and which abilities are more rare. When I get enough initial data, I'm going to create a Hypothesis, a rational explanation of a single event or phenomenon based upon what is observed, but which has not been proved. A theory is down the road, but we all know those are a little more complex and dynamic. For right now it's simple questions, but the sets of questions will build upon each other further on.

It's a good idea hechtal but you'll need data from a LOT of people to get a fair estimate and to be able to arive at some conclusions. I suggest you pose these questuions in other discussion forums on the net too. The more people you get to participate, the more you can generalize your conclusions. Small samples can be inconclusive and misleading.

Need to say that I don't think the people that have these abilities think of them as powers any more than you think of sight as being power. We're not mutants. If you do this on other forums you might want to re-word it a bit.

About 2 years and 8 months, I was in a coma for a day or so and "they" came to talk to me. Couldn't begin to really understand it all as "ability" until I was 19, before that I either took it for granted or accepted the assessment of others that I was insane.

I get a lot of information about people's past/present/future, centering mostly in emotionally charged issues, stuff that's very important to them. I usually get much more information about a person standing in front of me, but I can also get a lot of information about a person if someone who knows them is in the room. I can also get accurate information from photographs. Most of the information is verbal, but on rare occasions I see things. I can see energy blockages in people's bodies fairly regularly. Auras, of course. Other people's specific thoughts show up in my mind often. I have from time to time manifested specific objects and even people from my dreams in waking life (kids, don't try this at home). I appear to have insights into the nature of time and personality that help me to predict what will happen next. I get psychometric impressions from objects. I often see numbers moments before they appear. I can calm animals and relay messages from them to their "owners" who just aren't paying attention! I predicted mad cow disease.

5. Do you find interpersonal communication difficult or easy?

Contrary to the norm, my gifts make interpersonal communication easier for me. I tend to like people on principle and I'm the kind of person people want to confide in.

6. On average, how much time do you spend practicing your abilities?

"Practice" as in honing, refining and studying--zilch, aside from maybe the studying part. O' course, what I mean by "studying" in this case is meditating. I meditate a good hour or so a day at least on average. In terms of "practice" as in getting info, all day freakin' long! (Make it stop!!!!!!!!! )

4 Abilities : I have the nasty habbit of kicking the old to go on to the new , so I have not used old ones for a long time . Aero K is something I have neglected for a while . But here is a basic list

-Almost any simple / internal energy manipulation skill . Grounding , charging , ect .
-Telepathy and empathy - possibly the most usefull and least usefull at the same time .
-Aero kinesis . Some pyro .
-Reverse telepathy . Works better on certain people . This involves placing thoughts and emotions in other people's heads . Not exactly mind control since it is the targets choice whether or not to listen to you . Im not as good at implanting words as I am emotions . Feelings are much easier . This can be set as a field as well .
-"Nkets" is the short name for what I have been recently learning/creating . In a nutshell its a way to use internal psi much faster then usual .

5 Do you find interpersonal communication difficult ? : Greatly depends on who your talking about . You see , Im allergic to stupid people . I can get along with anyone but as soon as an idiot who believes him/herself to be gods gift to the universe comes along I dont bother .

INTUITION - Thats my best and usefull hability, i have it since I can remember, probably best developed after 15; premonition, pre cognition (crazy ideas of the future pop up in my mind specially while walking and then became tru after 0 days to 3 months), premonition, I think "some" empathy (I can feel if people is nervous or slow or has trouble, lately some visions of the future and on the last a few months I started to have some astral proyection! (no astral travel, I dont get out of my body.. yet)
Important, my precogs and premonition have a window of 0 day to 3 months and I had dejavu until I got these new things (now is gone..I miss it, is so usefull)

5. Do you find interpersonal communication difficult or easy? Normally DIFFICULT, in fact. I love to be alone, but lately I found some friends and i think that I dont like to be with "normal" peopl, I mean, I read a lot and I like to talk about politics or things that are not common, normally people is boring for me! Yep, they only talk about farandula (like poeple magazine) and i found this disgusting. Few, thanks that I found new friends, I was thinking that I really had severe problems! Normally I can be happy with everyone, it seems I am good with all the people (thats a real "gift"!)

I do meditation since the last 2 months because of insonmia, I dont "practice" the other one, in fact, I got ride of some of them, they where so annyoing! I am very happy now.

Another thing, and sorry for being so long, A psychologist I went told me that the "characteristic" of psychic poeple like me is: lot of health problems, being lonely and with trouble to do friends and things like that. Is my characteristic, I am seeing some people here with the "friends" problems too, dont worry, sooner or later you find nice friends

3. Like 7 or 8 for premonitions, 10 for clairvoyancy, 9 for telepathy, 12 for pyrokinesis, and 13 for hydrokinesis and placing thoughts in people's heads

4. Clairvoyancy, short-term telepathy, and I get a large amount of premonitions nowadays, very limited pyro/hydrokinesis, which is something I just realized I can do, and my last thing is this weird thing in which I place thoughts into people's heads... I realized this when my friend Gavin and I were practicing for swim team and I thought how his backstroke really reeked and needed serious medical attention and he just looked at me like "what was that for???" However after I broke eye contact he immedicately "forgot" about it and continued swimming like I hadn't said anything... Trying to control this a bit... It's very erratic right now and I cant quite control when it happens, much like my clairvoyancy too.

4. Was "diagnosed" as clairovoyant and empathic by around 20 medical staff in a hospital (ranging from md's, nurses, and psychiatrists after all of whom had witnessed my interactions with patients on the same wing). Not often that a hospital has those kind of meetings, I would bet but they were concerned about my health because I was always exhausted and worn afterwards. I don't know if I am clairvoyant but I "pull" stuff from people's heads irregardless of whether I am talking to them or not. Do it with people I don't even know. I pick up active thoughts and things from their pasts, irregardless of emotional importance. I can also track any loved one down no matter where they are. That always bugged my dad.

5. I find it both easy and difficult depending on who I am talking to. If it is a friend, I can be myself and do all the talking for them (I'm big on finishing sentences after a couple words). If it is an acquaintance, it's hard because I worry that I will finish too many sentences or say something that I shouldn't know about them. Had some bad experience in the past with that. I do have a really hard time though when I know for a fact that somebody is lying, lol.

6. I avoid it like the freaking plague. Iow, I don't practice it and spend most of my time trying to bury it. I know that I still do stuff as my entire family knew about me without ever being told. But practice it? No.

Wow. Tell the news. If medical staff diagnose you with a magical ability, then you've gotta be abnormal in some way.

For some strange, strange reason ,I still doubt your claim... Sorry...

You can doubt my story as much as you want because you weren't there and I'm not going to provide any evidence because that would be telling people exactly who I am...on the internet. No thank you! What I was doing exactly was talking to a variety of patients while being observed and picking up on their stories to finish them when they could no longer continue. That's about all I will say on the matter.

All I can say is that it did happen. I wasn't even aware of what was being discussed in the meeting. All I knew that it was about me. A nurse at the nurse's station told me what was being discussed because she could tell I was obviously distressed. What she said did not make me feel any better and this is the first time that I have ever told the story to anyone publicly. You are welcome to not believe me. Personally, I wish it hadn't happened either for multiple reasons.

Please allow this thread to stay on the narrowly focused purpose for which it was created. The temptation to question can be difficult to put aside but will prevent people from sharing. For those with genuine experiences it takes a certain bravery to reveal publicly. Fear of ridicule may be stronger in the more intelligent posters. Some people are fooling themselves, we know that. Please let it go, for this one thread.

must say very young. early on best description would be that i knew what others would do and/or were thinking, as in chess; also knew when others were near, including animals; able to read and write long before entering school; very easy to learn very difficult subjects, suspect this is because of highly efficient conscious/subconscious communication as will be noted later.

4. What type[s] of ability[s] can you preform?
everything I've tried. am student of a unique philosophy engendering lower self communication; a student of Amerindian (both North and South America) paranormal beliefs and the methodology of attaining abilities we now consider abnormal or don't believe at all. Idea is that the subconscious (low self) is our sole link with the world around us, and everything goes through it. Seems to be accurate and logical, and works for me. I suggest that people learn something about themselves, but doesn't seem to be in the cards. Our loss.

5. Do you find interpersonal communication difficult or easy?
Depends. As others, it's difficult to communicate with someone who has nothing constructive to say, otherwise it's easy, provided he/she can keep up. Prefer to not, since at my age most younger people think they're God's gift and won't start learning until they are older.

6. On average, how much time do you spend practicing your abilities?
Depends on current interests. Took several months, several hours daily to learn dreaming. Healing is simple if the subject is willing so no practice required after first learning. Mental projection (currently seems to be known as remote viewing) a few minutes daily all that's necessary after first learning. Other things still working on, averages perhaps two hours daily of a specific type of "meditation", different from other forms people practice.

I just predicted that something would happen, and it did. THey were pretty slim chances. But in my opinion, it was plain intuition.

I don't. I don't even think I have a paranormal ability, I'm just typing this to tell people that sometimes their empathy/intuition is just normal. Not paranormal.

4.i am not sure, i think its intuition, and sometimes my dreams come true... i also almost always know wich way something is, like a supernatural sense of direction. plus, most of my tarot readings, or feelings about someone come true. i am also almost blind without my glasses, and they didn't even figure it out til 4th grade, cause i was such a good guesser

I was actually interested that there was an age spread. Because from experience, mainly the people claiming to have powers here are 14 year olds...

Probably the reason coul be that teens are more likely to use Internet and are brave enough to say that they have something and also discussing with skeptics like you (I am very happy that there are people like you here, if not, imagine what could happens, is like we cant exist if you are not present )

Also, dont forget that older people normally thinks that they are crazy or wont tell anyone so we do not lose our jobs (like I do in my life, je, pople already think I am abnormal for liking Anime!).

some incidents thru out childhood, but first substantial premonition was murder of mother at 15 (this is when i truly began to question ability)

thoughts just pop into my head and then i vocalize them without really thinking. 1)someone says something in question form and i immediately answer with statement (prediction).
2) thoughts and images come to mind that i vocalize as intuition or prediction.
3) sometimes i get a "vision" or "answer" when i read handwritten letter by person in question
4) from time to time i do automatic writing, but i don't try to do it, i just feel like i need to write something and then sentences pop into my head and i write them down.
5) i sense when there is energy or spirits around, but i can't see them, but i have seen swirling colors that i've interpreted as spirit energy

fairly easy

don't practice at all. want to work on contacting spirit guides or angels, but have not yet committed myself to the task at hand
