Hello gang

Something happen to me about a month ago..... I was chatting on the phone in my room when I spotted a piece of paper wedged in my fireplace (I've added a pic so you can see where- it was wedged in the little gap below the gold design and between the to "columns")..I'd never spotted it before it...I only did because I was sitting on the floor chatting... as you do!!!...anyway... being curious I got a pen and poked the bugger out...opened it out and it read..... BEWARE! Ghost activity in this room!...6am...flat is cold...sorry!

That was it what it read word for word... needless to say it spooked me for about 48hrs...I have been in the flat for about 2years and never seen...heard JacK...apart from the couple up stairs at it (she sounds like a wookie when she....) It was not a old piece of paper...the writing was very very neat...a womans by the look of it... I showed a few friends then threw it away...it is a very old house... they all are where I live in Brighton (UK)

Just as well i'm a thick skinned bugger or I would have been out of here!!!

What a strange thing to find though!!!...it was only because I was sitting on the floor mindlessly looking around while I chatted that spotted it...it was wedged right up the back!

no it wasn't a friend! ....if it was it was so well hidden it could (and did) go years without being spotted!..I did post a pic...not sure why its not attaching!!?!!?...I've just tried again!!!!...if its not there....HELP! [attachmentid=20922]

Hun, I'm afraid someone's pulling a funny on you. It just seems...I dunno. Ghosts don't do stuff like that. It could have been anyone. Were you the first one to live in that house? Maybe it was put there by someone who lived in the house before you. A boy in my school did something similar to this to his little sister. When they were kids he put a note in her room with a creepy drawing of a clown on it that said 'I can see you', or somthing like that. It scared the bejeesus out of her for weeks. Heck, this sounds like something I would probably do to some of my friends. Anywho, I wouldn't worry about, probably just a prank.

Am I missing something!!?!! Where do i mention a ghost put it there!?!?!!...of course a previous tenant put it there..its an old house...I know it was not a friend...no one I know would think of that and as I have mentioned the chances of finding it were sooo slim!!!

Alright, alright, take a deep breath and relax. You do mention a ghost, you said written on the note was 'ghost activity' and I was just scratching out the possibility that it could have been written by unearthly forces. Anywho, that leaves the possibility that it was either a friend playing a prank, or an old tenant. Most likely an old tenant. It's not impossible for it to be a friend playing a prank, you'd be suprised at what people can come up with and just how little people know their friends. But, as I mentioned before, in all likelyhood it's probably an old tenant. People do stuff like that all the time to scare people. I can see how you'd be freaking out, if I found something like that in my house I would probably cry. In fact, something like this has happened to me before. A few years ago I bought a used Sega Genesis racing game and when I played it there were eerie cryptic messages in the score board. I believe it said "Do not be afraid to lose control, for on Venus anger is a gift." Something like that, as it was a while back the memory is a bit fuzzy. Are there people living on Venus? No. Do people do stupid stuff like this to scare people? Yes. Let me pose you with this question: Is there really ghost activity happening in your living room?

the note is probably from an old tenant , maybe the old tenant had experience paranormal activity and wrote the note to warn others who may also be experiencing it , but that is only my opinion.

Okay, that just TOTALLY freak's me out!

It sounds kind of odd; that someone would write about ghost activity at a specific time, then apologize for it being cold, write it in a note and hide it. Perhaps whomever was responsible was a little mentally ill. Especially with you living there for as long as you have and not noticing anything but the Wookie-woman.

I don't think it's so outlandish for you to believe that a former tenant placed that note there for future tenants to find. I'm sure it was being hidden from prospective real estate agents showing the house after they moved out and the former tenant wanted to make sure that the future tenants, such as yourself got it. Any real estate agent looking to make a sale certainly wouldn't allow such a note to remain in a house they're showing! And for the record? It's only been recently that I've been pondering this thought: to send an anonymous note to the current tenants of my former childhood house telling them the EXACT same thing that your note said, due to all of the paranormal activities in that house. Every single family/tenant/dweller who's lived in that house, including my family has suffered great loss, tragedy and abuse. Objects move, are misplaced and lost with no explanations for them to be. Don't be quick to doubt the note.

I reckon the person (i'm 100% sure it was a woman due to the writing style - it was incredibly neat) was a nut nut...I'm almost positive it was not one of my friends...i'm almost always in the room awake or not at 6am and like I say I have not seen jack!...but when it come to psycic stuff i'm not very sensitive!!!

ValkyrieVoice....a word of advice and for anyone else who is thinking of doing the same thing (writing a criptic note freaking the current owner-tenant out) DON'T!!!!! ...everything was fine til I saw that note...then the next 48hrs I was freaked out!!...in that period every creak, bang etc got me on edge...everything is cool now...if you really want to do something like that at least date it and put an email address on so the person can contact you and you can explain everything in detail!!!...otherwise you will be classed as yet another nut nut!!!...putting that person in that negative frame of mind will also attract these type of things to (I guess! (thought forms and all that!)

That's pretty much their goal. Don't worry about, if you haven't seen ghost activity in your living room so far, you're probably not going to. They did it just to scare you. Why? because they're assholes, or like mentioned earlier, they're just crazy.

man, I wouldnt get all twisted about this note. I wish I could show you all the weird stuff I found in my house when I moved in (it's well over 100 years old). I found some truely creepy stuff, but I haven't lost any sleep over it

I think someone is just messing with you.

Mabie if someone lived there before you got drunk(or other things) saw creepy things and thought they needed to write a note. Then when they woke up the next day they forgot it was there.

Might want to have the peice of paper analysed, see just how old it is, also research the houses history. Above all else take the warning to heart, might be real!

You might want to check for more notes in other small or odd places whatever the origin it's probably a prank or the a note from a crazy person. Also you may think over it but if you experience anything I would take it with a grain of salt you may very well be more effected than you realized.

ohhh someone is messing with me but who!!!??....obviously a previent tent...like I say its just wierd because it was in such an inconspicious place...moral of the story dont leave notes in house you dont know will find them!!!! like me !! .... ahh so it its just a nut nut messing with me............ bowlarks to em!!!!!

Sounds like a prank . . . if nothing has happened before, then don't worry about it. But I must say it's odd and a little creepy!

That's so neat. I wish I could have found something like that in my house, but seeing as we built it....

But in my old house, we had this shed, that was attached to our kitchen, which led out to our garage. I always let my bird fly around in it, seeing as it was basically all windows and nice during the day. It also led to our backyard. ANYWAY, the floor was planks, like a deck. And it was raised about 4 feet off the ground, and when you looked through the spaces of the wood, which I did often as a child, you could see a bunch of stuff that the previous owners stored under there. Lots of toys, like trainsets and what not. For some reason I found it fascinating.

I'm still into seeing what people leave behind and thinking about their lives, and stuff. I'm a bit nosy.

I've had a good rummage around and found nothing else!!!...guess just someone playing silly buggers!....we are all a bit nosey...my families 2nd house we bought when I was twelve had a huge basement, it had about 3-4ft of misc stuff all piled up when I first went down there! took me and my mum about a year on and off to clear it!!!...I used to spend hours down there just nosing about!!! ...as I got older I turned it into a session for all my mates..we used to bong.. play cards down there etc!!...one time we realised the old coal shaft had a gap behind it!!...we got some torches and looked behind there...theres was a tunnel!!!....straight up!...we found out it was part of the old sewer system and went for miles..we only got 20-30 foot before we realised it was not meant for stoned teenagers!!!

Ever check out the old sewer after that? Where abouts in England? Some of the old sewers hook up with old forgotten cellers and vaults.

Okay, I know this is off topic, but... I really like the fireplace! Well, what we can see of it in the picture anyway....

If the paper was there for awhile, you may not have noticed it, espcially with the fireplace being so white. It could have even been kids playing at the time.... you would be amazed at what I find hidden around my house that my kids do.....

I dont have kids!!!!!...and the writing was super neat almost calligraphic in nature!...defo not kids!!

As for the old sewer, I found out later it runs for miles!!!!!!

That's very interesting, mate. I do hope you let us know if anything odd happens. From what I've heard Brighton has loads of occurences of paranormal activity.

On Fri I was talking to a mate of mine Kate, I told her about the whole scenario and she told me what happened to her recently!!!......she shares a flat with her sister -Jen, they have an emergency cash card (ATM) they use for...emergencies!!...funny that!...well one day the sink started leaking and she needed to call a plumber..her sis is a trolly dolly (BA I think!) so she away quite a bit... Kate went to the drawer where the card is kept...she said it is always on the top on the bills etc so its easy to find....low and behold the buggers not there!!!...needless to say she turned the drawer upside down, knowing it was there as she had seen it a few days earlier!!!...anyway is was not there...under the drawer...down the cracks etc etc...no where to be found!!!!...she reported it lost and ordered another....2 days the new one arrives she opens the drawer and its STARING HER IN THE FACE!!!!...where it was before!!!.. she said looking back they remember things moving from place to place but thought it was each other...being sisters they borrow things!....but this freaked her right out!!!....so they decided to do a bit of research on the flat (they bought it together 2 years ago) and the previous tenant...a Mrs Braithwaite...as it turns out a she died in the flat 9months before it was bought and revamped before sale!!!!....so they reckoned the place was haunted by this woman...although they had never seen anything, just silly thing being moved from time to time...anyway one night the girls had a bit to much red wine and not having the guts to do a quija board they decided to talk to her asking to stop the activity as they didn't like it and were scared!...fair enough I thought!...Kate was asleep a few days later and said that this Mrs Braithwaite came to her a dream and told her not to worry that she was just "there" and not to worry and said "I've got to go now" ...and they have heard nothing since!!!!....ooohhhhh...apparently true!!!

A lot of my stuff moves around like that. My stuff used to disappear from my pocket, I find it on a table leave it there and later find it in my pocket.

I would seriously doubt ghost activity there, I lose stuff all the time and it turns up in places I least expect. I guess I just take stuff and forget where I put it. Interesting story about that tunnel there! My house is pretty new so nothing like that ever happens to me.
