I've been using acrylic paints for...um...(sheesh) 35 years (about) and have taught myself some great techniques over the years. If anyone would like to ask some questions on the medium, I just might have an answer for you.

Here's a sample of what I've done:

Here's another painting, along similar simple design, but with a less Native American motif.

In the painting above, the golden ball at the center was sanded. This technique brought underlying colours back into view. Depending on the brushstrokes and the thickness of the underpainting, you can develop some interesting effects.

The next painting is all about the way complementary colours can provide tension.

By complementary, I mean, as example, red beside blue...
