I don't remember the name of it, so i wanted to see if anyone here knows about it.
The format is almost the same as the Blair Witch project, meaning that the movie comes from the video-recording devises the characters in the movie had. It is about an american family spendng thanksgiving day in i think it was the grandfather's house in theare in middle of the woods, and then suddenly they hear a bang and the electricity shuts down. Next thing that happens is that some of the men in the family goes to the woods to see whats going on and they see like these 2 aliens doing something to some cows there and they ran away.Next thing u know they are back at the house and then they start hearing noises in the roof, so the guy with the camera goes out of the house and hes looking at the roof thru the camera and then suddenly in a corner you see a couple of gray feet going thru the window into the house. this scared the S**t out of me(it was 3am and i was alone in my house, what were u expecting :-p). Then little by little each one of the members start dissapearing and at the end u see the guy leaving the cmera on a table and then u see like 2 aliens getting in the room and like "paralysing them" and then thats it. At the end they show the pics of all the members of the family and ask for people to call a number if they've seen them. I know its a fake movie but it was AMAZING! I saw it 6 years ago and I haven't seen it again since then.
Does anyone knows what movie I'm talking about? (sorry for my english btw)

Was the movie called "Probed"? I've done a little bit of research and the movie Probed was made one of the people that made The Blair Witch Project. Seems like it would be the same movie you are talking about. I hope I helped.

no, i dont believe thats the movie he is refering to. i remember seeing that. but the name escapes me at the moment. it wasn't really a movie either, it was some sort of late night hour long special that upn? had on. i remember it came on before that god awful "homeboyz in space" show.
they had tried to pass it off as a real tape, but in the credits they listed who played the aliens. it was supposed to be in montana i believe. thats about all i remember at the moment. hope some of those details can help you find what you are looking for.

Yeah I saw that too, at the end when he's all alone in his room and the alien comes out from behind the door, that was sooo scary. Of course I was only like 16 then, but it scared me really good.

I found out Saturday night, 03, December, 2005. One place that does not have it. Blockbuster Video, (United States), does NOT have it! They appearently can't order it for you either. Don't waste your time looking for it there. They have a good selection but, not the one thing that I really want to see now. Has anyone else looked at some other stores? If so, have you found it or not?

BTW, when you go to these video stores, ask them if they can order it. Many of them can order videos if you're willing to pay the rental fee up front. They only do that to make sure that they don't lose any money if you decide that you don't want it after they order it.

Please pass on any information as to where to look and where to not waste my time looking. This is important. I'm using my 600th post to try to find out about it! A couple of movies have been done in a similar way to the Blair Witch Project. BWP was frankly a mediocre example and frankly I'm dumb founded that people still fall for it(I wish I was joking). Two of the better ones I've seen are "The ST Francisville Experiment" and "The Last Broadcast."

wasnt that based on true thing because i remmber watching an unexplain mystries type show where they had farmers who had they cows being butched and contected to fences like never seen by human... anyway they tryed to video tape what was happening then ( on flim) there was a bright flash and then i dead cow in the same way anyway that was scary and it was sposaly true i dont know but that my be where they got the idea

Watching this movie was like being courtney love's gynecologist for 90 minutes. REally terrible.

i finally was able to watch this movie. my friend and i watched it together at 11pm at night. i have to say, even knowing it was fake, this was the scariest movie i've seen... i found the film on the gnutella network. i'd suggest getting the p2p program morpheus and looking for it in there. the scariest scene would have to be the one where he goes into his room to change his pants... omg so scary you guys have to watch this film its awesome

For those too lazy to go there and read all of that stuff, here is a quick re-cap.

The director of this movie, Dean Alioto, made an original version of it in 1989, called UFO Abduction. It was his first full length film, and he wanted it to be the most realistic abduction video ever. The film was actually distributed for a short time, however the building where they were holding the film burned down and every copy was lost in the fire. Well, almost every copy. Apparently one of the people who obtained a version of the film, when it was first distributed, re-cut the film and released it as a real abduction. For several years it was passed around the UFO community and it shocked tons of people. Finally the director got wind that his video was still out there so he came forward and told everyone it was a fake. Years later, Dick Clark told Dean he could get the film remade and put on TV and that's the version you people know today. Well most of you anyway. The US version was highly edited and and was shortened from 2 hours to 1 hour and there were some really cheesy interviews added in. When the film went to the UK they stuck with the 2 hour version and none of the cheesy interviews.

I saw this movie about three month ago on sky movies.I can report that its not scary in the slightest.It was very enjoyable though.You can tell straight from the off that its a fake.

It's the McPherson tape, or, as the title on the DVD box in my local video rental store says: "Alien Abduction! Incident In Lake Country". It is located in the Sci-Fi section, and is fictional.
