Has anyone seen Priest Idol? Its on in the UK and is about this American Priest wo has gone to some village in England and is trying to get them interested in the Church.

From what i can understand, the Church council want him to make Church fun. So he's introducing all this new stuff. He put a meditation room in the Church, and put up all these signs advertising "Church lite" Supposedly the new way of doing things in this particualr Church. Church which is easyer to understand and less preachy.

But the locals on the Church council don't like what he's doing, they say that he's going against the basic morals of the Church.

I just wondered what everyone thinks. Does it matter if the Vicar's ideas aren't traditional as long as he is getting peopl to Church? Surely the message is the same?

I'm not after a debate on whether or not God exsists, i just wnat people's opinions on this new, modern type of Church.

I wouldnt have thought it would make any difference on how he got people to church. As long as they are all singing from the same hymm book, if you know what I mean.

Exactly Welsh Shaun, thats what i thought, but the Church Council are making all this fuss about how Church should be traditional, and what he's doing is wrong and tacky.

Thanks for sorting the link Richdog!

It is hard for traditionalists to except new ideas. If only one or two of them would except it others would follow.
