what practice do u do and how does it help you?
Lord Umbarger
I follow the Jewish teachings. Doing so helps me to feel like I'm a part of something bigger.

I make it a point to read the Torah. It's nice to know where we've been. It's helpful when people ask me why I'm Jewish or What do Jews believe. It's great to know where I'm going.

I always wear a hat or some other type of head covering. It's kind of like a reminder that there is someone over me. Someone may be watching. Must be on my best behavior!

I keep a kosher household. I do believe that a persons health is better if you follow the insrtuction booklet that comes with being human. Besides, even though it has not happened yet, you never know when there will be a surprise inspection!

I recite a "bracha" before each meal. It helps to tie me into the past. It helps me to remember that all things come from elsewhere and I should be thankful for what I have. It's more than most. It gives me a chance to pass on our heritage to my younger reletives without forcing it on them. From my perspective I'm at the end of a long chain. From the perspective of those a thousand years from now, I was just one of many middle links that helped to keep it together.

I observe the major holidays. Mostly for the same reason as stated above. I observe Chanukah because it helps to remind me that there is hope. Miracles have and do happen for those who will light a candle in what sometimes seems to be an ever blackening world of darkness.

I recite the "Shema" at least three times every day and before doing anything dangerous, just in case.

I practice the religion according to me. lol wink2.gif Not really but anyway, I don't follow any type of religion because each one talks about the same thing just in different words. Well, there might be a few that don't but still. I believe in God, heaven, angels, Satan, hell, and demons. I also believe that within every good person there is an evil side and within every evil person their is a good side. Kind of like the ying/yang factor, plus karma is in there too. Whatever I dish out I'm going to get back in three folds. I guess I'm more of a spiritual person then I am a religious person. I've never really like chruch and I don't like how some religious people like to push their religion on other people *coughcoughchristainscoughcough* lol. Well, not all of them do but I'm sure all of you know what I mean. wink2.gif

Meditation. Om.
Helps me to concentrate amongst other things.

Every morning I say a little prayer in my head asking God to make the day a great one, and thanking Him for making the last one great. My days usually are good, so I stick to that.

I pray, attend Church every Sunday, and I am a Contortionist, which also in some ways helps me meditate.

I listen to the King James bible being read from a tape player and cover many chapters in the real bible everyday.
It helps me to know the real teachings of the true God, so that I won't be deceived by the many false religions and false philosophies of the Earth. This will allow me to go to heaven and avoid hell.

good for you antiaging.

I am glad that avoiding hell is the overriding reason for your worship, rather than an actual understanding of the teachings of the word of your god.

I tend to meditate often when things are troubling and find to stop thinking for awhile can help the mud settle back down to the bottom of the pond. I find the most uplifting places are in natural settings, away from people where there is no sign of people. Much of it has alot to do with the effort to get to places where chances are slim to none you'll see another person...Then it's all about relaxing and taking it all in without thinking about it, that's the hard part.

It's really hard to describe, but it's kind of like putting away you mind for a bit and becoming part of everything for awhile. Whether it's spiritual or not, I don't know, all I know is I feel alot better afterward, clean, refreshed, and ready to go get dirty again. tongue.gif

Agreed, I have 4 different Bibles, they are all very real as far as I can tell. The Vulgate I have has a few more books in it than the others, the Tynsdale reads alot differnt than the others...But they are all real. If I hit you in the head with any of them it would hurt, I think that qualifies them as real! thumbsup.gif
