Has anybody ever just bin walking or driving somewhere when everything just stoppped for just a second.me and four of my mates were walking through town a couple of weeks ago and everything just stoppped for a sec. When this had happend I turned to my mate s and looked at them to see that one of them was just as confused as I was then we both asked the same question if everything had just stopped for a second there.us two out the four were the only ones to acknowledge it do's anyone know what happened that day.And am certain that it has nothing to with abduction.

I can't say I've ever had that happen to me, but there have been many times when I've looked at the clock, and the second hand has taken longer to move.

I know what you meant. I already explained that.
I was talking about the feeling of time freezing (the second hand not moving at the pace it should have (and I don't mean because the battery was failing)).
Anyway ...

It sounds like it might have been an alien abducation, but since you're sure it wasn't, I wont push that theory any furthur. But you know, just because something acts according to 'clockwork' doesn't mean it doesnt have its fluctuations. I dont think anything can work 100% percent of the time. Maybe what you experienced was that extremely, slim-to-none occurance of a time fluctuation. Quantum physics could probably get into a little more detail about it. As far as I know, QP states that anything is possible, it's only a matter of probability. For example, if you repeatedly tried to push through a solid stone wall for a billion years, there is one chance that you will pass through it. This does not mean the stone eventually eroded away or whatever, but that every single electron of every atom was just so perfectly in place as to allow you to pass through.
Anyways, I'd say you have some sort of time fluctation, maybe because they just happen every now and then, maybe a supernova in space sent a ripple through the fabric of space/time. For the duration of our lives, we will not know for sure.

Maybe you were both daydreaming at the same time and suddenly realized it at the same time. Maybe not, but, I guess that it could happen.

maybe an interdimensional vortex pertuberated our reality, an inter-dimensional highway used by inter-dimensional travellers, and you were stuck in the middle.

A friend of mine told me that at certain times of the day, everyone in the world stops talking, just for a second. And certainly looking back to school, there were times when the class would just fall silent. Maybe this is just like that?
Time is just an illusion anyway

We are afraid to leave the confines of our body, thats why we experience time... we limit ourselves so that we may have an experience.

I've heard of that about a certain time of day when everybody stops talking. Supposedly, it's at 10:22a.m., the time that Abraham Lincoln died. They say that his death is the origin of the legend. Since I'm from the South, I kind of doubt it.

Yeah, now that I think about it, I remember back in grade school when people would be talking and it would just get silent. I mean dead silent, not like: a few people were whispering, I mean everyone and everything shut the f*** up. It was weird.

I've often looked at my watch or the clock and the second hand seems to take much longer than a second to move, as mentioned above. Is this just the way we perceive it to be, or is there really something to it?

I forget the name of this but that probably has something to do with your eyes. It's sort of like when people are in a car crash time looks like it's going slow, but it has to do with the eye capture rate or something like that.

thants right. it is actually the time that it takes for our minds to recognize the second hand's position on the face of the clock. when you look at it, your fixes its position and then relays that info back to the brain. then the brains perceives that position and the normal time elapse between seconds occurs. it is an illusion.

Everyone has that. It happens partially because you are expecting it to move any moment, so when it doesn't, it gives you a subconcious impression that it has failed to move in a given period of time. So it just feels longer but it isnt.

I've seen things that seem to slow down a lot, but in reality happen quite fast. bit never freeze completly.
like when my friends dog jumped over the park gate, I saw that in slow motion. and also when i got into a fight with my bestfriend and i leaped to the left, like you do when playing in goal in soccer/football.

Maby after the incident you remember the happenings as having been in slow motion because during that event you were able to pick up such a vivid and detailed memory, which then you are able to "play back" slowly in your mind?
I wish I could do that. It would give me plenty of reaction time

Has anyone every had time jump forward? I sat up in bed one morning and looked at the clock. It was exactly 7:00 am. I blinked and opened my eyes. I was laying on my back, looked up and it was exactly 8:00 am! I've never thought it paranormal 'till now.

Ive had that happen to me and its quite simple to explain.
If you glance over at the clock and you catch the second hand moving your brain registers the new second is starting and resets your internal chronometer. but sometimes you glance over at the clock and you didnt catch the second hand moving. when you see the second hand move again i didnt take a full second to move to the next position, then when it does, it takes a full second before it moves, this difference can make you think that second hand took longer to move. if that doesnt explain it, maybe you should watch the clock again to see if it does it again the next time round, to see if there is a problem with the clock.
cheers

That has happened to me also, except my experience was the complete OPPOSITE! It was during one morning I woke up and I checked my watch to see that it was only 5:45 am. Then I closed my eyes for about a minute and looked again at my watch and saw that it was 4:45 am!! I just could not believe what had happened.
I guess I went back about an hour

im guessing you mistakingly looked at your watch the first time with eyes that have just woken up and saw the time 5:45, then after a minute you opened your eyes again and it was 4:46.(a minute later) perhaps. before you come to any conclusions you must check the mechanics of your watch, it is feasible that the hour hand cog is worn and slipped, but i doubt you are willing to go to the lengths neccessary to find out. cheers.
