PoP3 was released today. I loved the second game, which I've owned for almost a year and still never beat (very hard game). I'm definately buying this game next week. It looks like it's improved everywhere. They've added a lot more gameplay elements which look bad ass. For example, you can also play as the Dark Prince which has completely different fighting styles and moves as the normal Prince. Plus he looks really cool. There's tons of other new stuff as well. They also kept the free-form fighting from the second game in, but added alot to it. The fighting in 2 was so awesome and it worked so well, I can't wait to see how great it will be in this game. Has anyone else played this game or is looking forward to playing it? I know I am!

Me me me!!

The POP have always been among my fav games, ever since the very first one (man it brings memories back

).
Sands of Time blew me away, and I certainly loved Warrior Within (though I couldn't finish it because of a glitch in the game

). Anyways, the past two game have been awesome, and I'm really looking forward to this one

^ I loved the last two games and am counting down the days until this one is released down under. It is released on the 8th down here so not long to go and I assure you I will be there on that day with my money ready.
I`ve been reading up on reviews and previews to find out as much as possible about this game. I haven`t been this excited about a game for a long time.
Playing as the Dark prince will indeed be awesome, I love the chain weapon that he has although having your health continually falling when playing as him will be slightly annoying. But then again in the second game we got to practice that when we put on the mask!

Don't think I ever got that far in the second game. The farthest I got was a little bit after the actual boss fight with a stone golem. I should really start again and ty to beat it by next week. There's so much I need to know before the 3rd game.
I had no idea that you lose health while playing as the Dark Prince. Hopefully it won't be too much health. And I agree about his chain weapons. They look sweet!

Dec 2 2005, 04:26 AM
^Well if the decreasing health is anything like what happened in the second game it shoudln`t be too bad. There were some dicey bits especially when I lost a lot of health but overall it wasn`t that hard.
In this third game you have to be continually obtaining the sands of time to replenish your health so I`m sure there will be enough enemies around to achieve that as well as those rare items that can be smashed that also contain the sand.
I wonder if there will be two different endings in this game like there was in the second game?!
Shakezulah
Dec 2 2005, 04:35 AM
Ha. Didn't even know there were two endings in 2.

Man, I really gotta beat this game.
AztecInca
Dec 2 2005, 04:44 AM
There is the normal ending for the game when you just make it through to the final boss battle which I did and then there is the ending which you can only get to by obtaining all the life upgrades. This allows you to obtain the water sword( I think its called that) which then leads to a different final boss battle and ending!
Shakezulah
Dec 2 2005, 04:48 AM
That's cool. But that will never happen for me, because when I played as far as I got, I only found 1 life upgrade. I didn't even know about them then. I'm like "whoa, what's this?" And that was really far into the game.
AztecInca
Dec 2 2005, 04:51 AM
^lol, I only got 5 or 6 myself although I think there is only between 9 and 12 in the entire game.

Dec 2 2005, 05:12 AM
Tell me this: do you ever get to kill the Dahaka in the second game? I loved the chase scenes with it, and I wanna know if you get to fight it. I thought I heard you do, but I'm not sure.
AztecInca
Dec 2 2005, 05:16 AM
That is the the final boss battle and superior ending when you obtain all the life upgrades which really annoyed me because I wanted to fight it.

Dec 3 2005, 01:54 AM
Another one? Sheesh. I never got into the franchise, but I did play the second one. And, despite the fact that it's a good game, I couldn't do it. It played a LOT like BloodRayne 2... but a lot slower paced. I wouldn't mind taking another shot at it, but I won't rush out to do so.

Dec 3 2005, 10:06 PM
Well i';m going to pick this game up today and am very very excited to see how it plays.
I thought of renting it but since i own the previous 2 i decided to just buy the thing.
Hopefully they keep in the intense action parts from 2 when you run away from the big monster and godsmack is playing in the backround.
Shakezulah
Dec 3 2005, 10:38 PM
Yeah. Everything in 3 should beabout 10 times as intense as everything from 2, hopefully.
I'm still playing 2. Right now, I'm in the clock tower thing to activate the second tower in the past. Unforunately, when the rock music starts to play at any part, whether it's a Dahaka chase or just a big fight, it plays for about a second and glitches and just stops. Sometimes it will play the normal level music instead. It's quite annoying. I wish it wouldn't do that. I have no clue why it does.

I cant wait for the boss battles which apparently are trully awesome in this game as well as being able to travel through the city with a chariot on occasion.
Hopefully this game isn`t as centered on battle as the second one was although it was still insanely enjoyable. There needs to be more of a balance between puzzles and battle and then it will trully be an awesome game!

I really liked the first one, but for some reason I never got the second. I should go buy part two and play it to see how much better it is from Sands.

Dec 4 2005, 07:49 AM
^It requires a serious investment of time and effort when compared with the sands of time but it is well worth it I assure you, plus it will lead into the third game.

Neo2005
Dec 5 2005, 01:29 AM
Well i've polished off about 25% of the third instalment so far.
I have no bones excpet for one.
The prince get's his dagger of time back but it;s his main weapon and the only other ones he can get are from people he kills.
I liked the weapon styling more in PoP2
Shakezulah
Dec 5 2005, 04:05 AM
Well how great is the game so far? And are there more and a bigger variety of bosses?
Are you sure you only get the one main weapon? Can't it be upgraded or anything?
As for me, I'm still playing through 2. I'm way past the fortress now. I'm a little bit past Kaileena's library. Don't know how much I have left to go.

Have you got to use the chariot yet Neo? If so is it anything special?
Neo2005
Dec 5 2005, 10:20 PM
Shake.
The environments are same old same old.
There are some really cool things that you can do as the dark prince though as with using your chain to wall run even further.
The best addition to aerobatics has got to be these little circle holes in the wall which you can stab your dagger into and either get extra height on your jumps or use them to wall run off of.
Bosses are pretty sweet but the 3 i've faced so far are using just your quick kill mode.
I'm not sure the weapon is upgradable or anything like that but i hope so.
Aztec.
I have played the chariot mission and it's nothing special just either running over sand monsters or slashing them off with you dagger. But at the end of that part there is a really cool cutscene.
Shakezulah
Dec 5 2005, 10:42 PM
Sounds pretty cool. I'm still looking forward to buying it.
Anyways, I'm getting closer to the end of 2. I returned to the throne room and went back to the present. I'm on my way to get the mask. But now I'm stuck in this big room with only a pillar to hang on to. There is absolutely nothing else I can jump to, and I have no idea what the hell they want me to do. I should probably look it up online.

Nah. GmaeSpot is good enough for me.
But yeah, I'm a lot farther now. I'm currently trying to get through the shipwreck part where everything falls apart when you jump on it. It's hard, but that fact that there are a bunch of glitches that prevent me from progressing through the game makes it even harder (i.e. a collapsing bridge that doesn't regenerate when I rewind time). I'm really getting pissed off. Ill play it again tomorrow. I should definately have it finished before friday.

lol! I remember that bit, it took me ages to work out where I had to go next but I did it and boy did it feel good!
I walked into EB today and they had POP:TT in the new release section but they were only the display boxes. I went and asked what was going on and they told me it still wouldn`t be out until Thursday!

Well, I just beat Warrior Within. What a great game! Now I'm prepared for the 3rd game. Although the last boss fight with Kaileena was pretty easy. It only took me 2 tries, and the second time I only got hurt twice. I did play on easyn mode though. I'll eventually have to go back through on normal, and maybe hard.
I have 1 question. The story for the 3rd game is that the Prince returns to his town with Kaileena....but she's dead...so how in the hell does that work?
Neo2005
Dec 7 2005, 01:57 AM
It starts as if you completed the game with the best ending.
What would be cool though is if, if you had a WW file saved on your memory card it read whatever ending you had and changed the stroy accordingly
Shakezulah
Dec 7 2005, 02:35 AM
Yeah, or at least the beginning. That's how the Suffering 2 worked. I didn't know there were different endings. I knew there were 2. The one I got and the one you get for getting all of the health upgrades. Are there more? And do you mind telling me what the best ending is that follows through to the 3rd game?
Neo2005
Dec 7 2005, 02:40 AM
I haven;t beaten it yet.
But to get the best ending you have to get all health upgrades.

Dec 7 2005, 02:46 AM
Bah. That ain't gonna happen. Through the game, I only found 2 of them. Last time I played, I only found 1, so I guess that's better. I just wish I knew how/where to find them.

I purchased POP:TT today as for some reason GamerRush the store had it on sale a day before everyone else and for only $85 compared with $99.95 at EB, who said they may not have it on sale until friday!
I have only played it once so far and it seems pretty good although having the knife as the main weapon is slightly annoying.

Do you still get to pick up random secondary weapons? Some of the designs they had for them in the second one were cool. And I loved using 2 weapons. The combos tended to be much cooler.
Neo2005
Dec 8 2005, 02:04 AM
Well not nesesarily cooler but they were much more violent and gruesome.................................What am i saying they were cooler.
But i'm don;t know if you can still use secondaries aftger that or not.

Dec 8 2005, 03:21 AM
I find that the seconday weapons get worn down far too quickly although without them, when you are the "good" prince some enemies would take bloody forever to kill with the dagger.
I just experienced my first chariot sequence and thought it was pretty good. Nothing special but a nice addition to break up the gameplay.

He gets the girl

Anyways, I got the game yesterday and been playing it alot. So far I've liked it alot, the speed kill system is awesome and the platforming is as good as ever

The chariot racing was okay and the daggertail of the dark prince rocks, but when playing as the Prince the battles now are quite difficult, way more than in WW. That has got me worried. Otherwise, it's a great game

Dec 9 2005, 02:51 AM
^Indeed the fights are generally harder but I find that more enjoyable although how the archers never miss even when you are easily dodging is beyond me!
The first boss battle was a little too easy after you worked out what to do but still very impressive!
How many life upgrades have people discovered so far?

I`m just a little further than that. There is a boss battle coming up where you have to fight as the dark prince for quite awhile. Its rather easy though.
I have also found two life upgrades and they were rather obvious!

I got to the first boss, but I'm stuck on it. I have no clue what to do. I can get up to his head and hit him once, but then he grabs me and throws me down right away, and it tells me that I did it wrong, when that's like the only thing to do. Any tips?
