is world of warcraft good? Becuase i think i'll get it for christmas

I'm on a break from World of Warcraft right now but I liked it. It's lacking some things that make most MMORPGs hard to play and you can solo alot so you can actually level pretty far on your own and at your own pace. Crafting in the game is easier than in games like FFXI but still can be a pain when you can't find a certain material off of Stormwind auction. There can be alot of player interdependence in crafting because a recipe may require somebody with skill in alchemy and etc.

The graphics are pretty though there is a tendency for everybody looking kind of the same. Wish they had mixed it up a bit. If you play on a PvP server, it's alot of fun once you leave your "safe area" because not only do you have to fight and evade mobs but you never know when the opposition (alliance vs horde) is going to sneak up on you and kill you. You also get rankings for killing the opposing faction, which is kind of neat because it kind of simulates wartime promotions. I'm just a mere private though.

WoW is alot of fun. If you like MMORPGs but don't have the time investmant that EQ or FFXI requires, you'll enjoy WoW.

I like World of Warcraft a lot, I'm pretty much hooked right now, on that and Guild Wars, that's fun too, and there's no subscription fee for Guild Wars, but that also means you get more idiots...

World of Warcraft is fantastic and I play it at every chance I get; at first you level up fairly quickly but as you start playing the game more, the levels take a little longer to increase and the quests start requiring you to join a guild and raid with other people. I'm actually waiting for the expansion to be released for World of Warcraft - it'll make the game even better than it is already (and probably more addictive than it currently is). An excellent game, but definitely one you'll want to make sure your computer can adequately handle properly.

I dont know if its good, cause I have never played it ( and for some reason I feel very proud). But all my gaming friends play it and they are addicted.

i had WOW. it a great game but i'm not paying $240 a year for one game! ($20 a month fees) So i just got guild wars, pretty much the same except guild wars is more realistic and internet play is free

world of warcraft is great you will love it a have a level 37 troll hunter with a raptor and gorilla as my pets.

You can have 2 pets? or are you referring to the mount? or you didn't need to be lvl 40 before you get one?

you can have up to 3 pets you can have one with you but you can store another 2 in the stables. anybody here play on the european server thunderhorn?

What pets are available. Is there any thing like a demon bannana creature. Or is it the boring cat, dog, chicken deal?

any beast in the game can be used as pets theres wolfs tigers gorillas raptors scorpions hawks and much much more.

I think this needs to be explained a little better, in the game every character can have a normal pet (cats, spiders, snakes, baby dragon, etc), this pets do not have any role in battle and u can only have one, they are just like normal pets.
Then there are 2 character classes that can have combat pets(hunter and warlock), hunters must tame wild beasts to gain control over them and warlocks must summon their pets (wich are demons) there is a curious thing about a basic pet, the imp (for warlock), it can have a different personality, your imp might be quiet while other people's imp never shuts up (they say things like "you can't handle THAT?","can you kill anything without me?","you suck", etc), it's fun to hear their comments but a lot of people get pissed after a while, also the last warlock summon requires a circle made by 5 (or 4, can't remember) and a player's life sacrifice, also if that pet is not tamed immediatly it will start to attack and then you'll be in big trouble. Also to notice that while playing warlock, to summon a char you'll need a soul shard wich are gem shards used by that class in many ways, also for some pets you'll need more than one soul shard (the only pet that does not require a shoul shard is the imp)

There are also mounts, wich u can get at level 40 for loads of money, they are some kind of pet (since u need to feed them).
Also to notice that you must feed your pets or they will turn on you, their food depends on the pet (a giant turtle will not eat the same kind of thing that a bear does , I think)

I had Everquest II which was a great game, probably one of the best I've played, but the expensive fee and my slow pc forced me to quit playing; how does World of Warcraft compare to Everquest II, in terms of gameplay and performance?
