Maybe 3 or 4 times a year or so I wake up in the morning and notice scratches on my neck or upper torso, usually 3 or 4 or 5 parallel scratches. Now these are quite deep and I am at at loss to their origin. I've tried to scratch myself with my fingernails but can not duplicate scratches. What's even weider is that I know of others who experience the same phenom. One friend says it is the Old Hag that comes at night. I am starting to believe he may be right. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.
We unconsiounsly scratch ourselves in our sleep - it's totally natural. Even if it is severely deep, it's still possible you could have rubbed up against something sharp, or just kept scratching the same spot until it became really deep. I use to wake up with scratches a lot when I was ten or so, but that's because I know I'm a pretty violent sleeper
