I was listening to the radio one morning and heard one of the dj's bring up a guy who claimed he heard the sounds of Hell. He was walking around some desolate place or something and came across a big, dark hole in the ground. From the hole, he could hear the sounds of multitude of people screaming and sounds of heavy liquid movement and stuff. He claimed it was the sound of Hell. Anyone have any ideas?
Yelekiah
No, that was debunked. You might find it on Snopes.
BurnSide
Ahh, yee old sounds of hell.

http://www.snopes.com/religion/wellhell.htm

False.
DaKong
I highly doubt it. Slow-moving and large amounts of water could've made the liquid sound, and wind rushing through the cave can easily be mistaken for screaming, as was the case with the Banshee.
Lord Umbarger
Didn't we already do this topic some time ago? As I recall, it was debunked. It was completely false. If I'm thinking about the same thing, it was on C2CW/ George Nory a while back.
Irish
It turned out to be a recording at a large public swimming pool.
AveSatani
it can't be true.it was just a person that went and said everything he had on his mind that moment and then believes him everyone wants.Today, almost everyone says there is no hell, right???

[indent] there is a hell. How can u deny it when it is in every book which God sent down on to this earth. If there is no hell, where is the proof? innocent.gif

Lord Umbarger
Oh, I believe in a hell, I just don't think that somebody dug a hole to it.
star_child
I'm not too sure where I stand with religion, I kinda believe in God and also believe that 'Hell' is not so much a physical place. And there's no way I'd believe this story tongue.gif
Jamewaur
does anyone listen to Coast to Coast am?
they have some scary stuff on there sometimes...
kaiboijin
Haha..thanks guys! I didn't think it was really true anyways...I mean, I believe in Hell, but like Umbarger said, I dont believe someone just dug a hole to it.

kaiboijin:

This has already been posted on another thread. It's still quite intriguing though!

Why can't anyone who sees a "big hole" in the ground and hears the sounds of Hell eminating from it ever go back to it again with a team of excavators or something??? Pretty stupid, huh??? blink.gif
Mr. Blonde
Thats the coolest story ever, too bad its not true. sad.gif
LizFL
Sounds freaky... But I dont believe anyone could "Dig a hole to hell"

Heck, if that was the case, then we could fly a rocket to heaven....

I'm not saying these places dont exist, but this is not a recording oh hell sounds
Lord Umbarger
If someone wanted to hear the sounds of hell theyy could swingby my house about an hour after "Feed the kitty time". That's when all seven of them line up at the litter box.

Currently preserving your innocent ears!!! blink.gif wacko.gif

Omg. Thats a fairly big variation on another hoax. Like a team of miners in Siberia were mining and found the temperature to be real high so they lowered a microphone in. Heck I even have the "supposed" sounds on the comp. They sound creepy, but its still a hoax. =/
Timetravel_0
Why would hell, should it exist, be in the center of the Earth? Kinda a obvious choice..... you'd think the Devil himself would be a better realtor XD.
angrycrustacean
No microphone could withstand 2,000 C. No wires could withstand 2,000 C either, let alone transmit along 14.4 km.
aquatus1
This story is far more than a simple hoax. This story should be a source of shame to all that believe it occurred.
Elfstone810
Gosh, when I read the thread title I thought maybe someone had been eavesdropping on one of my family's get togethers. grin2.gif

Hi Aquatus! Long time no see! I'd been wondering if you'd tired of being a voice of reason for us. original.gif (although I may have just missed you. hmm.gif I haven't been reading ancient mysteries much lately)

I have ALWAYS wanted to listen to that radio program! But aren't you supposed to pay to be able to listen to it???
Tillghast
I only have heard of the mining hell sounds. Me and my friend listened to them. They were weird and stuff. But probably fake.

Nope. It's a hoax because the person who began it did it with the intention of seeing how long it would take for someone to call him and ask him if the story was real. No one who promoted the story did. Not a single one of the preachers and evangelists that made this story famous bothered to check it out. Not a single one of the christian newsrags that reprinted it over and over again followed the most basic laws of objective journalism. No, it wasn't until a skeptic who didn't simply take the 'truth' on faith tracked down the story to its source and, to paraphrase their first conversation on the phone:

Skeptic: Are you the person who wrote the original story about the hole to Hell?

Man: Yes, yes I am.

Skeptic: Are you in a position to verify the accuracy of that story.

Man: Absolutely.

Skeptic: So did this happen?

Man: Nope. I made the whole thing up.

I have the link to the whole story at home. I'll post it when I leave work.

Just in case someone missed Burnside's link on page one

Ok here's a link to the supposed sounds from Hell.
http://www.escalofrio.com/n/Audio/Voces_de...el_Infierno.php

the part in spanish is just the same story you guys talked about earlier. I just want you guys to hear it, its pretty cool and kind of scary. (you have to turn on your speakers, it will just start with the page)
Zoart
i highly doubt it is possible to let hell make u hear sounds, wouldnt be right, remember there is a pact between god and lucifer, a pact to never interfere with earth's balance, once the pact is broken then a war will begin between angels and demons, you know
so i doubt he heard it, its impossible
dani10
I wonder if Dante's inferno sounds like this thumbsup.gif

The only place I've heard of a pact like that is in Hollywood.
Zoart
search in the bible or documents you will find it, trust me

I'm not sure about that. Sounds a lot like NightWatch.

Then again, Hell's imaginary, and so is heaven. Nice ideas, but after a while peoples mad eup stories will start leading a life of their own. Like religion.
aquatus1
Been there, done that. No document without the word "movie script" has that pact in it.
Tillghast
I'm curious as to why only one such 'well' has been discovered.

If Girls aloud and that Frog aren't from the depths of hell - then I'm Jesus Christ.

On the other hand - if they came from heaven... Send me to eternal damnation

Do some more reading on it. There are many places that are thought to be entrances to "inner Earth" and other such places. I read stories of people going missing and headless bodies found. I even thought of checking some of those places out. I still want to.
Malicious
hey... it could happen... i actually believe there could be such a hole or gateway to hell @_@

Bastard...You made me look stupid.

Headless bodies? I'm sure I would have heard of people getting decapitated by demons and such. Well, that olde proverb, all that is well doesn't end in well.

Anyone read The Descent. It's a really good book about people going to the center of the earth and being attacked by demons or 'hadals'.

no WAY! can u give links to those stories please? I've read aobut the "portals" and such, but I've never read about anyone getting hurt.

Have anyone read that Edgar Allan Poe story about that man that went inside a tomb or something that had a door, and he was using like a walkie talkie to talk with his friend outside and then he startesd hearing screams and stuff an dhe said it was hell and then he stopped the convo and never reappeared?

JUst do some Googling. The stories are there though I'm not sure about their validity.
Tillghast
...Don't use foul language? Hmm, is there a paticular reason your after me? I believe there are alot of members with cuss words in the profile quotes and such. And, the offensive ones are starred out.

Chris: Thank you for the info.

It's 20th Century author H. P. Lovecraft, not Edgar Allan Poe.
