I've tried to use the quick edit option several times, sometimes it works, sometimes it takes forever to load, is there some specific reason why this happens? Also, I noticed that when you click on the reply button and open the reply window... wait for sometime to gather some info to post and then click the submit button, the post just disappears, with all the typed text. If it is a big post and if you don't have a backup of what you've written then it's really a bad thing to happen to you.

I've never heard of any of these things happening, the Quick Edit always works within a couple of seconds for me.
What browser/version are you using ?

It happens very regularly with me, infact this is the second time I'm typing-in this very post. I use IE 6.0.

It sounds as though your browser is failing to cache the text that you've entered in the text box.
Make sure that you have your browser's cache enabled, and that other features such as cookies and javascript are turned on.
You're the first person to report this happening, so I tend to think it must be a problem at your end somewhere.
Losing a lengthy post is quite frustrating. It can happen anytime to anyone. I have Firefox and sometimes for no particular reason I receive an error message saying 'Sorry but Firefox has encountered a problem and needs to close' and then
poof its gone.
A good backup plan for posting something lengthy is to do it on another program such as Works or word...something 'off-line'...then simply copy the text into your Add Reply box.

This problem happens for me regularly... just make sure you always copy and paste your post before submitting.

Just to echo what Dot suggested, if anyone is having this problem then make sure your Internet Explorer is up to date via the Windows Update feature.
If you are using Firefox, make sure you are using the latest version.

Well...caching is enabled, so is javascript and cookies too. My company keeps constantly updating -there was an update just recently.
I always type my post in notepad and copy it into the reply window ever since I saw my first post disappear. I was just wondering if this problem could be corrected, I also wanted to know if this was a problem that I alone was facing or if it is a common problem faced by all.
My major question was about quick edit, at times it works real quick, takes a couple of sec's or so but sometimes it just shows the loading bar and hangs there forever. Anyways, I have a few other browsers installed, so I'll check which works best for UM.
