I was wondering if there is any occult buffs who can shed some first hand light on the Occult and WWII.
I watched Hellboy last night.

Adolf Hitler was into Germanic mysticism. He studied Guido von List and Jorg Lanz. Hitler had visions that he was a sort of messiah for the German people. Pretty much all the things that happened to him, he believed were "providence".
He was obsessed with the idea of the Aryan Man and used symbols (like the swastika) to represent Nazi ideology.

I have also heard that he sponsored archaeological digs in France looking for god-knows-what, documents or the holy grail.

Well he definitely went after the Spear of Longinus, and supposedly the Nazis produced a fake.

Now you have to admit that Hitler was a visionary. He just went crazy. I won't make those mistakes when I carve out my new utopia.

Any dictator is probably going to be mad, visionary or not.

I just saw a show on the History Channel: Hitler sent a team to Tibet to look for the lost Arian race. He had anthropologist measure the facial features of the Tibetans and take plaster casts of faces to find any traces of Arian genetics. Though not occult; it does show the lengths he would go to to prove his delusions were true.

I heard Hitler befriended an old mystic while he was in Liverpool in 1912 (read up if u don't beleive) This woman (a mrs Prentice) was an astrologer and tarot card reader who had a supernatural reputation. With looking into mirrors and crystal balls and studying the stars she apperently had powers to tell the future. Hitler was 'fascinated' by her talents and apperently became a firm beleiver in astrology because of his time with her.
I got these so called facts from the book haunted Liverpool. I thought maybe Hitler gained supernatural powers and that is why he became so popular. It is often said in history books hitler had a hypnotic effect on people, maybethere was something sinister behind it. Just wishful thinking.

Hitler was a staunch Catholic and much of his mysticism was very Christian but he also suffered advanced syphilis and his delusions and possibly hallucinations took him into a very "off the wall" realm.

The NAZI's were a new government looking for something that they could use to prove that they were more ancient than the rest of us. They thought that it would give them some sort of credibility. They would bury a few pot shards and "discover" them a few days later and then build a whole mythical Aryan society around it.
Not even Erich Von Daniken would take their brand of "science" seriously.

Of course not. Their "sciences", such as phrenology, were pseudo-sciences. They had no real validity.
