Really? Well, he's not really our drummer, just a friend that said he'd record with us, the bassist and drummer are pretty much just studio musicians. We are still looking for a permenant and dedicated drummer and/or bassist to play out with.

Man, you don't know this kid. He has one of the biggest egos I have ever seen. And he's only 16 .

And the tone is ok. Since then I got a JCM 900 3/4 stack, and we've invested in professional recording software, so this weekend we'll start recording some better quality stuff.

Uh...no. Sorry kid, but it's called working for a living. Daddy didn't buy sh**. Bill and I both paid for all of our equipment (except for 1 guitar each that was a gift). The recording equipment doesn't belong to us, it was the drummer's father's and he let us use his studio. We did just purchase a PreSonus recording pack, that, yes, we did pay for ourselves.

2. I never said I was better than him, and how do you know he's better than us?

This can go round and round, which isn't the reason I initially posted. I just wanted some comments on my band. That's all. I didn't want to argue about equipment, or anything like that, I just wanted some people to listen to our stuff and tell us what you think.

Which PreSonus did you end up getting?

I'm not sure. Bill knows more about it than I do. I know it's the one that comes with the 8 input interface.

You probably heard this kid's awesome, studio/album recordings and you're comparing it to our half-assed demo and you think you can make a fair judgement? Um...ok. Yes, just leave it here.

UPDATE: The PreSonus Firepod came in Friday. Bill and I were messing with it, it sounds awesome! Hopefully, we'll be able to record something before we leave for Florida on Wednesday.

I don't have the link, but it used to be in Jocs signature. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I made a post in the first page saying I really liked the Voodoo Brothers stuff. I only said something after gothikchilli thought Joc was talking to him, but he was talking about the drummer.

Anyways...

We're using Cubase LE, it came free with PreSonus and stuff.

As for everyone else...shut up. You're really not helping anyone's case by arguing. To whoever said whoever was better than The Voodoo Brothers, first back your argument up with "proof" and second, who cares? If they are, this is not the place to talk about it. So moving on...what about those recordings?

I love classic rock. And you guys shocked me out of my skull! I just finished listening to 'Movin' on' and loved it. Your instrumentals are nothing short of bad-ass. Definitely old-school psychedelic guitar and bass, with a touch of funk thrown in for flavor.

Hey, man, glad you liked it. What instrumental are you referring to, though? I did just add a version of "So Excited" (originally by Stevie Ray Vaughan) with me and Bill's dad, but other than that, the other two songs have lyrics. If you mean the instruments (like music), thank you. Well, thank you anyway, it's always refreshing to hear that someone actually appreciates something you do, especially when you pour your heart and soul into it.

As for the different genres, it's pretty much like this:

Bill (guitar): Classic rock, blues, psychedelia (more like Iron Butterfly)

Me (guitar): Blues, funk, psychedelia (more like Hendrix)

Jon...I was joking with you because of your equipment...it's nice. The music is nice. I have no doubt you worked your A$$ of to buy the equipment...and so what if 'daddy did buy it'?! Who cares? What matters is what you do with it. And you are doing something with it. That you worked so hard to buy it shows how seriously you take your music.

All this 'kid' stuff....what a hoot! I don't 'own' anybody at anything ....I love to record music as well...and I have recorded some...hopefully this year I will have enough money put together to do a Master on some professional equipment.
