i recently bought a new telescope..actually 2 days ago. it came with a remote control that u can actually program stars or planets in, and the scope actually points into the direction of that star or planet...ive been doing it every night...alot actually. tonights pretty cloudy, so didnt have the fun i have the last couple of nights. one reason i bought it, was ofcoarse to see if i could spot..yes, ufos. i have gone unsucessful. but it is neat to look at satilites that actually are moving.

just wondering if others have telescopes, and have ever seen anything "strange" alien.gif

No but I would love one of those...are they expencive?

And hey please keep us informed if you do see anything, with one of those powerful telescopes goodness knows what you might see!

PS keep it pointing to the sky and not near anyones windows wink2.gif

When I first became a member of APRO in 1992 I bought a telescope and I spent hours scannng the sky and have yet to see a UFO. But they are many things that you can look at should interest you besides UFOs.

What you have to understand is that our skies aren't littered wih thousands of UFOs. If you were to look at the project Blue Book statistics, only 11% of all the sightings were genuine UFO according to Hynek. So, don't expect to see a UFO just by looking at the sky via telescope.

I got a present of a Bushnell Voyager 4" lens a couple of years ago....i've still only managed to get the Moon....i just cant get the hang of the thing......but even to see the Moon is WOWSA ....when you first see the shadows in the crates and from the mountains.....blew me away .
If anyone can give me the Fischer Price instructions i'd be grateful original.giforiginal.gif

Why would you want to chase (observe) U.F.O's with a telescope..? High powered binoculars would be more suitable for such tasks..!
It's ok using telescopes for observing stationary objects, but trying to follow discs as they fly in and out of hyperspace...c'mon..!

u couldn't possible even be able to view a UFO with a telescope(unless it was sitting still in the same spot for a while)...the reason being is because it would be too dificult to keep on the UFO and it would be hard to focus the lens with something moving at incredible speeds.

On our database at APRO, there are plenty of sighting where witness have sighted UFO via telescope since UFO don't always travel at those incredible speed. Many UFOs are sighted stationary at very high altitude.
