For many centuries, people have been predicting the year, month and sometimes
day when the world will end.The prophesiers have almost always predicted that these horrendous events would happen in their own immediate future. All of these predictions share one factor:
none have ever came true.http://www.religioustolerance.org/end_wrld.htm

And probably none will ever come true. This is a tough matter to deal with.

Tough to make prophecies in a world that gives you free will to do anything at any single time.

The world could end tomorrow. Like my girlfriend says "live life to the fullest [because you don't know what tomorrow's going to bring] (I added that part because I couldn't remember verbatim what it is she always says)"

You have a point. The world can't be here forever, but I just don't want to hear about it.

You know...
this is such a dumb topic.
What is your definition of the world ending? I mean, mine is, when I die. To be honest, my world is ending, even yours, in my perspective, when I die. So in reality, the world is yours.
It will end when you want it, or when you naturally die.
And if it ends by any other means, we basically hit the lottery by being alive at the time the world ends, think about it, if the world ended tomorrow, only like .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 percent of the life to ever have lived on earth would be able to experiance the world ending.
If it happens, LUCKY US!

Just as sure as the Sun comes up every morning, it is scheduled to die. Experts give it some 7 billion years, when it will turn into a bloated red giant. As the name implies, a red giant is a star swelled to gargantuan proportions. Earth would be first engulfed in heat and light, then vaporized.
That my friends will be The end of the world.
Well before then, things will turn real nasty. In just a billion years, the Sun could be 11-percent brighter, scientists say, rendering Earth an inhospitable greenhouse. In 3.5 billion years, the Sun could be 40-percent brighter than it is today.

People are so egocentric. It wont mean the end of the world. At most the end of our world on physical Earth. Why must it be the end of the world when there's many other planets out there waiting to be vaporised by dying stars?

Lol, stop freaking me out. I actually think the world may "end" then. It's generally accepted that the calendar ends in 2012. Are you sure you're not confused?

Just because some calendar is used up doesn't mean that time stops causing
the world to
end.

Okay people,
The end of the world can either mean to US or as Earth ending. You have the Mayans saying stuff about 2012 but even if that's true then apparently you don't study Mayan civilization because it's suppose to be a period of enlightenment, not the end of the world.
If you go by Biblical terms the world is suffered through the Devil and demons for 7 years before Jesus comes to save us. If you believe in both of these then you could predict that today Dec. 21st, 2005 is the start of the world ending, but not really because Jesus would save us.
The fact is the end of the world will come to some people tomorrow and other people in 60 years, because if I die tomorrow it's the end of the world but not for you if you don't die. If the Earth blows up tomorrow then it's the end of the world for everybody.
Nobody knows. People can make up stuff and believe whatever they want
