Ohhhh, boy is this going to be fun!! (EDITED TO ADD: I can't get the quote function to work... sorry)
First off, ADbox, you say
George Bush used the christian party to win the election in 2004, then he took the nation to war...
Ummm, I was deployed in 2003 in support of the war in Iraq... so the war (and "crusade") started WELL before 2004. Quick! Make up another bad fact!!
Next you go on to say:
George Bush aslo spies on American citizens who have a moral opposition to his political agenda.
Is this regarding the LEGAL wiretaps? The law that made this legal was passed in 1978 under Jimmy Carter, and has been used by Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and now GWB. It is LEGAL for international calls and for suspected criminals. Kindly do some homework before you accuse.
He left Katrina victims out to dry for days, with no air support at all.
Try telling this to the hundreds of Coast Guardsmen that were on scene in H65 and H60 helicopters. And check timelines for when Governor Blanco actually officially requested help. You will be amazed... the citizenry of New Orleans WERE abandoned - but it wasn't by the feds. (I won't get into Mike Brown - HE should be in prison...)
Membership in a CLUB or a FRATERNITY is nothing to be ashamed of - and means NOTHING. All it does is offer fodder to people who hear things bump in the night to reach for scapegoats.
PNAC is nothing more than a think-tank and an organization that thinks they are right... and whether they are or not is yet to be determined. Bush is also a member of a church... who believes that Christianity is the "right" religion and should be embraced by all... as do nearly ALL Christian franchises. Is this BAD?? Who knows, but it does make for an interesting world.
The ONLY people that use the term "NeoCon" are LIBERALS who speak badly about conservatives. The term is VERY rarely used by conservatives.
Which brings me to:
On top of that Bush constantly uses rhetoric and bunk information to pump up public support.
Which is what you are doing in your post - using rhetoric and bunk info to make your point. Sorry, I don't like it from politicos, and I don't like it from an anonymous poster in the internet. You make accusations, back them up with cites, sites and FACTS.
That is a GREAT quote from Lincoln!! It is a shame you don't bring up the CONTEXT of the quote to support it. In 1848, a JUNIOR congressman Lincoln made the speech to attempt to cut the tailfeathers of President James Polk, who moved to "re-annex" Texas and to "re-colonize" Oregon, under a "new" (read: rediscovered) idea called "Manifest Destiny". His willingness to re-annex Texas was forced because of CONGRESS passing a bill offering it to Texas, though. Neither the US nor Britain wanted to go to war over Oregon, so they eventually agreed to extend the Canadian border along the 49th parallel... so all Lincoln's selected quote above did was help cement our unwillingness to go to war over the Pacific Northwest.
Comes out differently when you use the context, doesn't it? Try
this link for more help.
And, finally, on to the UNATTRIBUTED quote you used in the original post:
"This kind of mentality makes you very strong," says Amir Mohebian, political editor of the conservative Resalat newspaper.
"Bush said: 'God said to me, attack Afghanistan and attack Iraq.' The mentality of Mr. Bush and Mr. Ahmadinejad is the same here - both think God tells them what to do," says Mr. Mohebian, noting that end-of-time beliefs have similar roots in Christian and Muslim theology.
Kindly note that BUSH didn't say that God told him to attack. It is Mr. Mohebian that says that Bush had made that comment.
Is it accurate? Not quite.
Bush has admitted that he has prayed over the decisions, but not that GOD had directed him to do ANYTHING.
Remember the comments above about rhetoric and bunk info? Please watch what you post when you get too far out there... or reality may come back to prove you to be wrong.
