So I live in California, and I've heard of an 'Albino Colony' in San Jose on Hicks Road. And I was just wondering if anyone else has seen, or heard about them.

Someone I know says their car got swarmed by a bunch of them, but I don't want to base a belief on one person who could easily be full of sh**. Especially since he was trying to impress a girl.

I would give you guys some links, or more info if I could, but I just couldn't find any sites with useful information.

Hmmm... You should try driving through hicks road at night, maybe you'll see something. But, don't ever stop your car .

This reminds me of the Albino Village in New Jersey. There were several albino families living in a village of shacks in the woods.

That sounds EXACTLY like what I've been hearing around here... I wonder how many other Albino Villages there are out there and how long they've been there...

This is easy enough to find out, get in your car, go to Hicks Road, and do a little bit of exploring. Problem solved. We'll be waiting to hear from you.

They are called "tri racial isolates" and the Albino "comes about" from families being "close". There was a community outside of Vincentown here in the Pine Barrens. The one family I remember was the Valentines. A Black-Indian family. My mom was friends with one of them and other then his lack of pigment he was pretty normal. The history is that they are a group of slaves and indians who did not want to be captured or sent west (like my own community) and hid out in the Pine Barren swamps. But where my community "Piercetown" was a large group and did not inbreed this group was small so the families married close.

No. They were a small community who isolated themselves for some reason and never married out. The usual reason on the East Coast was to hide from bounty hunters looking for slaves. I do ont know anything about the West Coast. They could be any race.

i know this post is old, but i just wanted to share my experiences.

i do NOT recommend this for everyone.

i didn't believe all this hype, living in san jose my entire life and never hearing about it, so i rounded up a few friends and we ventured out.



in august we first made the trip, and a bunch of teenagers were out and about near a car, but we just went back towards thanksgiving and the car is still there...

it's a very twisty road, made several of us nauseous, so if anyone is considering this trip, be warned. bring a few bags.

towards the end, you can start seeing wooden signs that say KEEP OUT nailed onto trees, as well as a road sign with BULLET HOLES IN IT!

finally you meet a fork in the road, take a right, and that will lead you to a strange little village hidden away in the mountains, featuring a large building with gigantic windows in the center and many little cabins. there is much more, but you can't legally go any further, as there is a gate with the sign PRIVATE PROPERTY, NO TRESPASSING nailed on...

i'm sorry, but i don't drive, and i live in the city. this was just a few miles OUT from the city so it was surprising to see such a change in the environment. and no, we didn't harass anyone. we didn't actually SEE any people, but even if we did i wouldn't go barging into their homes wanting to take pictures.
