My favorite christmas movie would definitely have to be National Lampoon's Christmas with Chevy Chase

The best line in that movie: (While peeing in the garbage can) "Sorry, Clarke. The sh**ter was full." grin2.gif

With the exception of "It's a Wonderful Life," Christmas movies have never had a high quality. The problem was with the studios in the early days because the movie would have a very short run in theaters . . . . only during the holiday season . . . . since there was no television in those days it would have to be re-released each Christmas until it could finally make a decent profit. Too slow, too long.
Today a Christmas movie is a very difficult sell. Networks and studios consider them high risk ventures with limited "viewing life." At the same time, the viewing preferences of the public have changed in the last 50 years and they would rather see an Xmas comedy than a remake of a classic.
