k, so the other day I was at my friends house and they started talking about a famous portuguese soap opera, and myself, I have no interest for that sort of thing so I just said this:
Me: hey hey hey hey hey, I know a better story than that: Once upon a time there was a a man that was married to a woman, they divorced, and they lived happy forever!
Friend1: have you any idea of what you just said?
Friend2:Now you were extremely incorrect
Friend1:that story isn't right, say it again
Me: *tell the story again*
Friend1:Haven't you spotted anything unusual about that story?
Me:no...
Friend2:common its right there!
Me: hmmmmm *thinking*
Friend1: Omg he's thinking.
Friend2: Oh no we are all going to die here, argh *choking*, the smoke.
Me: *aside: idiots* No, I see nothing strange in that story!
Friend2:ok, I just got it, you can't get to that conclusion by yourself.
Me: but what conclusion? there is nothing strange in there!
So, what I would like to know, is, what the hell is wrong with that story? I believe that my friends were just mocking me...
EDITED: needless to say that it was a joke.

I guess since they were divorced, people don't automatically correlate that to living happily ever after.
Another thing, Bahamut 0, this is better as a blog entry.

I was thinking the same thing.
On both points.

The end of your story "and they lived happy forever!" implies that they lived happily ever after, which is commonly utilized to illustrate a romantic, fairy tale kind of love.
Because they divorced it would be incorrect to use that statement in relation to the couple.
However, if you wanted to summarize that because they divorced THEN they lived happily ever after you should have structured the sentence differently, such as: they got a divorce, and then they truly lived happily forever apart.

I can't believe people are actually giving this thread a second thought. It is obviously gibberish nonsense. There, I solved it!
