My CD-ROM drive is acting a bit tempramental lately, sometimes it refuses to eject, sometimes it says there is no media in it when there is, sometimes it will not burn, and then other times it works perfectly fine.

Any advice on how the go about diagnosing the problem?

It is an ARTEC WRR-52Z SCSI device btw.

Thanks in advance thumbsup.gif

Sounds more hardware then software... just might have to replace it.

Try cleaning it out. Or just get a new one.

yup I bought a cd lens cleaner (I didn't even know there was such a thing) and now it works fine.

The greatest threat to modern technology seems to me to be dust. laugh.gif

how many times does the thinking "if it don't work, blow on it and it will" save me? yes.gif
