Its a still not quite understood phenomenon, though most medical experts have explanations for it. I'm not sure if fully documented cases of verifiable, definite synaesthesia have been recorded or not. I know I read about one woman who could supposedly read with her elbows, another man who could hear colors, etc. But these were all in books dealing with the paranormal - I'd like to know the actual treatment this gets in medical and psychological publications.
Greetings to all members
There is a holistic reawakening of late on synaesthesia. If you care to google the Internet, you will find many interesting write-ups on synaesthesia. I am just as interested
as you are in researching this intriguing neurological phenomenon, synaesthesia. I practise
orthodox as well as complementary medicine with a special interest in Homeopathy.
The originator of homeopathy, Dr. Hahnemann , a German physician, pointed out the importance of the peculiar symptoms. His instructions were particularly and also exclusively attentive to symptoms which are, striking, singular, extraordinary or characteristic : the symptoms peculiar to the patient and not to the disease.
More scientific research is required to determine whether Synaesthesia is a genetic
normality or a mutated pathology. You will be surprided that there are amongst us, to some degree, synaesthetic.
