The whole AIDS scare of the 90's comes to mind. The one where someone accidentally sits on an infected needle in a movie house or the guy who had a one night stand only to find out his partner is HIV positive. Those were some pretty good ones!

there's 1 4 ya!!

a teenage girl and her friend were alone in the house. they were on the computer looking at myspace. they came across this picture of a guy. they both started making fun of how he looked, saying he looked ugly and creepy. just then he message them saying "hi, see you looking at my page" they wrote back "ummmm how do you know that?" he said "Just like I know your home alone" "No we're not, our parents are home" "No their not, liars. Also, i like your legs." "just please leave us alone ok, your scaring us" and the girls logged off. they then went up stairs to talk about random things, then one of the girls went to the bathroom. she was gone for a long time so the other girl went to check on her. she found her dead and all her blood on the mirror saying "Am i scaring you now?" the girl went back to her room to phone the police, but she was killed. the cops have no ideal who killed her.

ok then this one is quite a long storie so i will give you a bit of a cut down version.
back during ww2 their was a doctor called dr crowe who owned a big house in the woods in ohio
he claimed he had found a cure for hydrocephalus the water on the brain disease so the government
agreed to pay him and keep his house secret and they would send him children to cure and he had all he own equipment
any way in the name of science i suppose dr crowe had evil intentions he was vicious nasty and violent and instead of
curing the poor children he injected more water into their heads and performed nasty experiments on them he beat them and kept them caged up in the barn because of alll the water and stuff had pumped into their heads their heads had inflated to incredible sizeshence the name melon heads well one day they escaped and the hated dr crowe with with such furiousity that they ripped him to pieces and ate what was left but in the slaughter of dr crowe a chemical vial was smashed an the whole barn went up in flames the melon heads escaped into woods surrounding the house. it is said that if you drive down wisner road (plz correct me if im wrong) you can see them staring at you from the side f the road as you drive past they also chase your car as they a supposedly extremely fast (running around 45-50 miles per hour) and they hate humans with such furioucitie they will kill and devour any they see

so now you know about the melon heads rather good history lesson me thinks lol heres a link to a rather creepy storie about have fun readin

P.s. apologies for spelling and punctuation

Thank you for the information, i kinda understand why people say the melonheads are scary.

But wht i don't understand is why they should be able to run so fast.

The story of La Larona (sp?) was scary. I first heard of it on weird usa's website. It's about a woman who killed her kids to marry a single man, but then was cursed because of it. Her head was turned into a horses you can still hear her crying over the river she drowned her kids in.

Hard to say which is my favorite. I've read most of them at snopes.com, and some are really interesting while some are just stupid.
SiriusTrouble

Goodness, I must agree! BEKs have always given me chills, well not literally as I've never met them personally, but in general. That has to be one of the scariest urban legends I can think of. Not because of all the gruesome things they do but what the 'survivors' say they didn't do.

the dog in the microwave is a fave.but the one that actually was true about the guy who broke his neck in world war II,and
it was not discovered until 50 years later is the most remarkable.i always thought the jersey devil was an ole wives tale to scare the hell out of kids that behaved badly.
