Serial police biter Cedrick L. Freeman may get a long prison sentence.

The Kansas City man has bitten three police officers in the past five years, the latest attack coming in 2002.

On Monday, Jackson County Circuit Judge Ann Mesle found Freeman guilty of second-degree assault of a law enforcement officer and of resisting arrest for latest incident. She convicted Freeman after a trial without a jury.

Freeman, 33, could be sentenced to up to life in prison, but prosecutors said they probably would ask for 10 years.

Assistant prosecutor Dawn Parsons said the attack last year was almost identical to one in 1998, when Freeman bit two other officers.

Does anybody else find it a bit excessive to sentence a man to 10 years in prison for biting 3 people over a 5 year period?

I mean, I understand that it's a fairly antisocial thing to do - but still...10 years to life seems to be breaking a butterfly on a wheel.

Wow...imagine how much time my girlfriend would have to pay if the police found out for everytime she's bitten somebody...

It does seem like a little too long for simply biting 3 people over that long a period of time.

I had this exact same thought Aslan , it does seem just a tad extreme .
