I think the lower jaw looks more like a reflection from the sun onto the water...
I thought grey whale as soon as I saw the jaw line?

rotting log, way too thin to be a whale or dolphin...plus it's yellow. No way its a snake...its perfectly straight! Not alligator or sturgeon...no resemblance what so ever.

The foliage growing on top of the "thing" strongly suggests it must be a log. It does look enough like some kind of large unkown fish or reptile though, that any swimmer surprised by it would certainly be given a momentary shock.

If you look at the way the moss and stuff is growing on it, you can very faintly see the moss pattern abruptly "stopping" at the beginning of the head and begin a new pattern. If it's a fake, the creator leaves much to be desired.

I know exactly what it is because i have seen many of them before in my life. There is a perfectly rational explanation. Anybody who has ever been to blackpool in the UK will know exactly what it is. They are normally seen "swimming" in the sea at blackpool only there is something missing in the above picture. Every time i have seen them near blackpool beach they have been acompanied by a nappy! Metal floating on water?
It depends on the density. How do you think Navy aircraft carriers float?
That looks somewhat like a log 'cause of its straightness, but still... I'm voting... Not really like a log.

I thought the coloration was very metal-pipish myself, but of course - metal pipe floating on water doesn't really jive.
Of course, if it was a sealed pipe -- possible? Those torpedos that Humphrey Bogart made and stuck in the African Queen were floating when they struck the Louisa.

Few metals with their Density->(Density of water is 1000 kg/m^3 and Density of air is 1.2kg/m^3)
Metals Density
aluminium - melted 2560 - 2640
aluminium bronze (3-10% Al) 7700 - 8700
aluminium foil 2700 -2750
antifriction metal 9130 -10600
beryllium 1840
beryllium copper 8100 - 8250
brass - casting 8400 - 8700
brass - rolled and drawn 8430 - 8730
bronze - lead 7700 - 8700
bronze - phosphorous 8780 - 8920
bronze (8-14% Sn) 7400 - 8900
cast iron 6800 - 7800
cobolt 8746
copper 8930
delta metal 8600
electrum 8400 - 8900
gold 19320
iron 7850
lead 11340
light alloy based on Al 2560 - 2800
light alloy based on Mg 1760 - 1870
magnesium 1738
mercury 13593
molybdenum 10188
monel 8360 - 8840
nickel 8800
nickel silver 8400 - 8900
platinum 21400
plutonium 19800
silver 10490
steel - rolled 7850
steel - stainless 7480 - 8000
tin 7280
titanium 4500
tungsten 19600
uranium 18900
vanadium 5494
white metal 7100
zinc 7135
It seems that none of them has a density less than that of water...
DENSITY=MASS/VOLUME
All the iron ships float because they are filled with air, and the combination of metal and air is, overall, lighter than water.

Oh yes you guessed it my friend! As i said many of these elusive creatures have been sighted bobbing around near the british beaches and create havoc when swimmers are approached by them. I personally think that whatever they do or the manner in which they approach people is terrifying because of the reaction they get. They look pretty small and harmless but i know the havoc they can cause. Take the Blackpool incident for example.
I was sitting on the beach when i noticed one of the creatures "swimming" in the direction of a number of holidaymakers who were waist deep in the sea. It snuck up on its victims and before i could shout TURD AHOY! it struck its first blow on the stomach of its first victim. In the melee that ensued it managed to bump its "head" in a strange bobbing motion onto at least two more terrified victims before dissapearing into the depths never to be seen again.
I observed the injuries to the victims and it was unlike anything i have ever seen. The victims of the attack ran from the sea with their hands in the air and were afraid to touch the area in which they were attacked. There were brown marks on the victims body where the creature made an attempt at biting them. The creature must be of a clumsy nature because all it could manage was a savage bump of its "head" onto its victims. It really shook me upand i have never been in the water since. I would liken it to people of the 70s era watching jaws for the first time. It has instilled a terrible fear into me and i shall never return to that place again.
I have heard friends accounts of seeing these creatures on holiday and even in public swimming pools which i find hard to belive. How would they get from the sea unless somebody actually caught one and took it there? i dont know. These creatures seem to show up in all manner of countries and locations. The common factor being a body of water. The only advice i can give is to stay out of water. Take a shower not a bath because i have also heard of incidents in peoples houses where a small child has been in the bath and te parent went out of the room and when they came back there was one of those creatures in the tub playing with the child. The children are never bothered by them strangely enough? There have been fables of them hanging around on public toilet floors but they seem lifeless and sometimes they are white. I think that the government is hiding something we must put pressure on them and make them reveal all. BE SAFE and watch out in the water
