If there was a way that we could go back and OBSERVE a specific event in time, what would it be?
For me, I would like to go back to the days of Sherlock Holmes. The late 19th century in England has always fascinated me.

It would have to be an Historical event for me.

I am an American history freak, so I would go back to the 1770-1780's, then back to the mid to late 1800's, see the expansion west. I'd also love to see the 1940's and 1950's era.

Hmmm, Maybe the Battle of Thermopylae? Salamis? I don't know, I wonder what it would be like to watch Rome in flames? I'd much enjoy to go back and watch the construction of the Pyramids. Perhaps go back in time and tell Hannibal a few things. How different would the world be if the Carthaginians found victory against Rome? I wouldn't mind standing side by side with Chamberlain at Little Round Top.
If I had to choose I would probably go crazy and kill myself.

I would want to go back to either see the Egyptian Empire at it finest or Ancient Greece.

edit: Or go back to america before us "white men" came and almost completely destroyed the Native Americans culture.

I'd go back to when Stonehenge was built....and used...just to see what really happened there. I am intrigued with Stonehenge and would have loved to see all of this first hand.

Exactly what I was thinking. If he existed at all I do believe he was crucified, however, it would be more important to observe him in his day to day life to see exactly what he did as opposed to what was added to his deeds by later leaders of the church.

I would travel back to when the Universe began to see it all unfold, and then into the future, to watch it all draw to a close.
I would also like to travel back to September 4, 476 and witness Romulus Augutulus abdicate to Odoacer. Then I could laugh at him and throw rotten cabbage at him.
mmmm...cabbage
