A leatherback does not have a traditional hard shell, and its upper armor conforms closely to the animals body shape. If it were turned over we would probably see its "leatherback" , hence the name.

It's a dead leatherback turtle on its back. That's why you do not see any eyes or shell.

I just found it as an image on Google when I did a search for "Monstro".
I'm absolutely convinced its a turtle. Check out its "beak". You can see the shape of the mouth. I think it looks slightly deformed and mishapen because its most likely been decaying in the hot sun for hours.

Well I can say for sure that this Turtle hasn't been shelled, as their is no way naturally for this to happen, and human intervention is somewhat "messy" to say the least
The only logical thing it can be is a Leatherback

It's a dead leatherback turtle on its back. I couldn't think of the name fo awhile, but other responses reminded me. It's DEFINITELY a sea turtle, you can tell by the flippers and the mouth. The way the flippers are hanging tells you that it is on its back. I"m betting the poor thing got washed up on shore lying on its back and died before the tide could wash it back out to sea.
The leatherback hardly has any shell as turtles go and is probably in the stages of losing it completely. I would love to sea one of these alive.

Cripes people. One more time: it is very simply a dead leatherback turtle lying on its back. From the state of its underbelly it looks as though it was scavenged a bit either in the water or out. Leatherbacks don't have the hard carapace of other turtles and there is no direct terminus from shell to neck or flippers. No cryptid, no mutant seal... turtle.

Dead Leatherback on its back...The body is bloated..for all you missing shell people, the "shell" of a leatherback cannot be pulled off... the shell canno be pulled of any species of turtle, as anyone who knows about turtles knows the spines is fused to the shell

I can kinda see it, except what I can see of the hind portion looks a little weird, mermaid-like. I suppose it could be the angle, or that species just has weird flippers...
