Sugar rush lands man in prison for life
January 23 2006
Qena, Egypt - An elderly Egyptian who brutally murdered his wife after she refused to add an extra spoon of sugar in his tea was condemned Monday to life imprisonment, court sources said.
Hassan Ahmed Mohammed, a man in his 80s, electrocuted his wife Ansaf Amin Yusef and chopped up her body when their 40 years of matrimony turned sour over the fateful spoon of sugar.
The criminal court in Qena, a Nile city 640km south of Cairo, ruled Monday that Mohammed would spend the rest of his life behind bars. -
