Full Version: What is my purpose...?

Hi

What is my purpose here on earth? Surely I should know what it is.

I have been asking myself this question for as long as I can remember, but I cannot figure out what it is I am supposed to be doing with my life. I am 30 now, but from the age of 5 or 6 I knew I was here for a reason. But what the hell is it...?

This is so frustrating. I would rather be doing what I am supposed to be doing with my life, than sit and wait for it to become known.

I had many strange things happen as a child and even in adulthood, some of these things still happen to me.

I have seen and heard things, felt things, predicted things, and a whole lot of other things, but how come I don't know my purpose. I can remember certain things in vivid detail back to when I was 9 months old.

I do however know that by the age of 33 my reason for being here will be made clear to me, but three years is a long time to wait. I can feel the energy of this...and I know it is a very big thing, but the one thing I have never been blessed with is infinite patience.
The energy around my purpose feels so strong, it feels like I can lift cars just by thinking it. That is the enormity of the energy I feel around my purpose.

Any psychics out there willing to make a prediction on what it is I am supposed to be doing, I would like to get a headstart.

Is 33 associated with something or are you just playing with that fact that Jesus died at the age of 33 and you gonna be the next one or something? tongue.gif

wjsa
I'm definitely not Jesus...I don't have to be psychic to tell you that either. I also don't want to die at the age of 33, so that's not it either.

It's just something I believe in, and the fact that the numbers 3 and 7 are prevalent in my life might have something more to do with it.

If you know something about Numerology and you can tell me something interesting about myself by reading my numbers, I would appreciate that too.

Here they are: 3 September 1975 (03-09-1975)

I am here to find some answers. I do however believe that what I will find out will help other people. The extent of it I do not know, but I would like to know.
Bio-Mage
Just making sure because some people take it to extremes...

I suck at numerology but some people here are well literate at that. I think you are reading to much into it but you never know.

Hope you find what you are looking for thumbsup.gif

Well 33 has to do with completion. There are 33 degrees in Freemasonry. 33 segments of the spinal column. This number is also associated with a gateway.

Confusious say, 'He who sits around waiting for a purpose to life will indeed be sitting for a very, very long time.'

There isn't a purpose to life....life is...be the best person you can be all of the time...what greater purpose is there?

Confusious also say, 'Purposes don't just happen, they are created.'

Yelekiah
I, however, have to disagree (just an opinion). You want to know your purpose, and that requires some introspection. Some people are meant to heal others, or to teach. Sorry to sound all cliche, but you really have to meditate on it to find the answer.
Eva Evermore
I can not tell you what your purpose is, or how to find out, but I can tell you that you are not alone with your experiences. I experience the same things. Your story sounds very similar to my own. I have to admit though, I don't usually tell people about that, I don't like to tell people because I don't think they would believe me, but I some times use my "abilities" (I hate that word, but can't think of another) to help people, both living and those who have passed on.
Triad
This is a fairly good starting point for understanding ones purpose.

Before the universe was born
there was something in the chaos of the heavens.
It stands alone and empty,
solitary and unchanging.
It is ever present and secure.
It may be regarded as the Mother of the universe.
Because I do not know it's name,
I call it the Tao.
If forced to give it a name,
I would call it 'Great'.

Because it is Great means it is everywhere.
Being everywhere means it is eternal.
Being eternal means everything returns to it.

Tao is great.
Heaven is great.
Earth is great.
Humanity is great.
Within the universe, these are the four great things.

Humanity follows the earth.
Earth follows Heaven.
Heaven follows the Tao.
The Tao follows only itself.

Any thoughts?

Don't despair. I've been there done that (I'm 34) What is your passion? What do you like doing most? Follow that and you cannot get lost. Trust me, there is no 1 purpose to everyone's life there is a purpose to your life and though you do not know it - subconsciously you're riding it all the time!

well I don't know what your purpose is, but I feel like sharing the fact that my birthday's
3/9/84. Though it hardly qualifies as a coincidence, I've seriously wondered what my purpose here is. While I understand the desire to know what you're meant to do, it's often more useful to follow your intuition and take the next step instead of looking far ahead. Don't want to trip yourself up after all. Well, good luck finding it, and more importantly, acheiving it. thumbsup.gif

Thanks for all the replies.
Ok, let me be more precise...I don't sit and do nothing. I do things all the time, and I do agree that life is a journey.

But, I know there is more to this life than just making money and working. I also know that whatever I am doing now...is not it!

If you grow up knowing that there is something very specific you are supposed to be doing and what you are doing at the moment is not it, then you search for that purpose.
It is not normal for a child from a very young age to grow up feeling that he or she is here for a very specific reason. This is what I felt from a very early age...

I know Indigo children have been described as feeling this from an early age, but that does not help me, as it only means that I am not alone in feeling that.

I know I am changing the topic slightly, but what is the purpose of being Indigo and how does this apply to real life? Surely it is not all about being ADD and ADHD.

Is there anyone on the forum who had similiar thoughts at a young age and found their purpose. Please tell us your story.

There is no purpose, you have to define it yourself, that is, if you feel the need to and if that makes you happy. It is a phase that everyone goes through at one stage or the other but the sooner you realize this, the better it is for you. Most people feel this need to justify their purpose of existence -it is mostly driven by thoughts like "I'm the chosen one" types.
Ziggy Stardust
"What is my purpose?"

or, more importantly;

"Why am I here?"

The way I see it, you're here to learn a lesson. How do you find out what that lesson is? Apparently, when one dies, figments from one's life flash before one's eyes. I think that's when you learn what your life was about, and why you lived it.

Maybe your purpose is what I feel mine is- to help others at all times, and yes, I do mean even like a Boy Scout.

On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my country, to help other people at all times, and to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

There isn't a purpose to life....life is...be the best person you can be all of the time...what greater purpose is there?

Life "is" a moment.,...in space and time.

Life's "purpose" is to continue itself......

Each person has a "calling" their individual (born with talents)

Finding what they are and using them to make a life is the paradigm of "Life" itself....

I have neen monitoring certain things, and I find that there are quite a bit of Virgo's online....maybe that's just some no meaning observation, but I feel that "we" Virgo's have a connection shared among us and we somehow find each other....

You see to understand a Virgo, you must first understand what it is to be "always one step ahead" of everyone else, then sit back and watch while others make their lil mistakes that you saw it coming weeks ago. When you say anything, most get pissy that you tried to get involved with their problems, especially when you need to criticize.....

But we sit in absolute shock, and ultimate satisfaction when what we predicted would happen comes to fruit and does actually happen.....This is not clairovoyance, no it is common since and logical reasoning mixed with a very sharp eye for detail and an ability to analize even the most mynuuuute of changes....

I also know that since you are a Virgo, as many Virgo's do have this same problem.....

You are exceptionally great at most everything you try, so you have this decision to make....You see for others they may not be very good at every single thing they do, so when something pops out and they see, "hey I am really good at this" It becomes clear to them, that is what they were meant to do....

Well, not so clear to a person who excels in everything they have ever done.......

My advice to:....."Thread Starter"

Ya just gonna have to pick what one thing you always "enjoyed" doing most.....Out of the many talents you already have....I am sure there is something that isnt' even like work....

That is what you should do....

For me it is Woodworking and Carpentry....

I'd work for free if I could work 10am - 6pm and be around the smell of freshly cut Pine all day.....That's almost like a vacation for me......

So, when Sagitarius is completely destroyed (it's in the process of being engulfed by another galaxy), then what astrological sign is going to take over?

If you believe in God, then I can answer your question. I believe in God, and for the past 6 years, I've gone through some rough times, and I've done a lot of digging into myself. I've thought out a lot of things, and have asked for answers.

The most simple, direct answer to my question of "Why am I here?" is to accept God. I believe we were created for the sole purpose of existing as beings that would accept God with their own free will, and perpetuate it. That is what I believe the sole purpose. I also believe there are other additional purposes, but we can't truly find those out until we figure out the first one.

I've felt a very specific need to be there for people. In other words, if someone has a problem, come talk to me. I'm a voice of reason and logic. I've experienced some of the worst of times, and I'm still here. There is another purpose that I feel I'm supposed to fulfill, but I haven't been led to that yet. It isn't as strong as a pull as the first, but in time it will be.

On the other side of the coin, I had also felt an urgency for the past 4 years. As if something is terribly wrong somewhere, and when I finally sat down to think about it, I came to the conclusion that I feel like death is fairly close. Not right around the corner waiting with some mace and a gun... But the urgency I felt was to be aware of it. Now that I've reached that point, I still feel as if it's coming, but I have time to do the things that I am here to do. I'm by NO MEANS a psychic. I don't have any special powers. It's just that gut feeling that I get and know it's right. I'm 100% at peace with it. I've had multiple dreams about dying... the last one I had was very vivid, I felt my body die, and I was happy. Whenever that happens, I know I'm ready for it.

But until then, I'm just living day to day, trying to make the best choices I can.

You would rather find out what you were supposed to be doing than to sit and wait to find out what it is.

What is in between?
~TheArtOfContact~
How is it you think that by the time your 33 you think your life is going to be explanitory in purpose? I'm 32, I have a few months. Still, I know I have my own in between without having to ask anyone what is so important futuristically about purpose - than what is present.

You have this strange problem of figuring this right? See I understand, but base not the future on purpose of life - but the present without wait.

Don't wait - have patience. Be prepared.

As I do not know you personally, I cannot say... However, I offer this with the prayer that it will help you find the answer to your question:
The fact that you are asking this question means that you are advanced. I believe all people have that "Why am I here?" feeling within themselves, and those of us who actually pay attention to it, who realise that there must be something more than this structure that Society has set up. There is most definitely something more to Humanity than watching TV, dedicating our life to a job in order to get money to buy stuff. We turn to materialism as an attempt to fill this "Hole" we feel within ourselves. THAT is what your question causes; That Hole within ourselves.

However, there is hope.

I suggest you look deeper. Research. If you are truly interested in finding out what The Greater Purpose is, research. (I would suggest the books "The Ancient Secret to the Flower of Life" Vol I & II. As another person suggested, try meditating. But, to finally attempt to answer your question, I have a feeling you will become a huge part in the Years to Come. In case you don't know, the End of the Mayan Calendar is December 2012. So, halfway to that, when you are 33, your purpose will reveal itself. I sincerely have the feeling that you will be of great aid to all of Humanity quite soon...

And yes, there is more to being an Indigo than ADD. Indigo Children are the next step in Human Evolution. Children born after 1999 have a 95% of being an Indigo. They first started showing up in the eighties, but they were still rare then. In fact, even a person born in the late eighties is unlikely to be an Indigo. Indigos are meant to help us progress through the problems our planet is going through. They are very intelligent, having an average IQ of 130. They are also usually psychic in every way imaginable. And, actually, being an Indigo does not mean you will have ADD. They can concentrate extremely well, but the organisations and groups we have set up (E.g. School) are moving too slowly for them. It's not that they cannot concentrate, it's that they are moving too quickly for the rest of Humanity. Older generations are being phased out; Humanity is evolving.

I hope some of that will be helpful. I promise, just hang in there. Your purpose will show itself, I promise. Just learn, develop your mind, and enjoy life until it shows itself. That is the only advice I can give you.

Ahh, the Devine Proportion...Mist, you definitely understand the feeling I have. Concept, you also understand what it is like to be Virgo. It is evident you have you have done some soul searching yourself. Yes, I am good at a lot of things, but choosing just one might be too hard to do. I have so many things I enjoy doing, that it hardly seems like work. There is also something about knowing things, without knowing how you know it. But in the end...you just do.

2012...The end of the Mayan Calendar. Some people predict the coming of the Antichrist...hope this is not me. Just by the way, I don't think so.

Maybe I will lead a revolution. Who knows. I am still waiting for one of the psychics on UM to give me a bit of info. No time like the present to prepare yourself.

I do enjoy life, but like I said, preparation can only be to my benefit.

Quote (Mist): I sincerely have the feeling that you will be of great aid to all of Humanity quite soon...

Would you be prepared to venture any guesses on what that might be? I'm just curious.

About Indigo's. Out of the 25 points listed as criteria...I am 24.5. The .5, coz I do not fully agree with the way they put the one question.
The last time I did an IQ test, the result was 130. Good guess, Mist. Anyway, about ADD and ADHD...I definitely do not excel at mundane tasks. So, I might suffer to some degree.
I also do not sleep at night, I am always thinking/pondering the night away.

I still haven't discovered the purpose of Indigo's. I know it is to lift the vibrational frequency of the planet and people and all that, but what does that mean in laymen's terms? Hasn't anyone written a "Hitchiker's guide to being an Indigo"?
That would really be helpful.

Thanks for all the replies.

where are these 25 points of being indigo found online? or are they in books only.

You can find them at:
