isnt everyone sick of people putting cryptids into unicorn dragon mermaid etc league. first of all, dragons mermaids etc were not real. GET OVER IT!! u cant even compare folklore with almost reality creatures.

well who knows! the tazmanian devil was supposedly part of the folklore of tazmania but at the end it turned out to be real!

It's almost as stupid as the orb pictures those people post. Or when a hair or dust gets on their lens they automatically claim it's a ghost.

However, this Is the 'Cryptozoology, Myths and Legends' forum. No need to be rude.

I am easily annoyed at certain topics, as is evident in the vampire thread.....but I see nothing wrong with also discussing myths and legends in this forums....as long as they are kept in that regard, being myths and legends and not addressed as factual things, I particularly discussing some of these topics and the almost inevitable symbolism behind them.

Perhaps you should think before you let your fingers produce such dribble....

Also the correct use of English grammar would be useful.

I understand how you feel. However:
1. Like has been stated, this is the 'Cryptozoology, Myths and Legends'
2. Many animals were considered myths, until discovered. When the first stuffed Platypus was sent back to England, most people claimed that it was a taxidermy hoax. tongue.gif

Mountain gorillas and giant squid were also considered myths, until their carcasses were picked over by western scientists.

The so-called 'Bloop' cryptid might explain any number of sea creature myths.....Leviathan, for instance.

Dragons are considered mythical to most westerners, but there once were, and still are, large reptiles on the planet. I don't think the classical fire-breathing dragon is even possible, especially one that flew. But prehistoric reptiles certainly influenced the shaping of those myths. We still find giant crocs and snakes in remote areas.

So dragons are not 'real' in that there is an identifiable species we can name, phtograph, and put in a zoo. But we can certainly see why people would believe in them.
