Why would a jury even be needed? In the context being used, dreams are envisioned visual and/or possibly audio experiences an individual can have that would have to originate from the source that caused all the thoughts that exist to do so to create the dreams that we are a part of, whatever that might be.

What if your dreams can show you where you need to go in the AP, not as in the destination, but rather the direction in the most subtle of ways yet obvious, by sometimes experiencing thoughts, ideas or images from your subconscious or the collective unconscious that can be related to your life and can be directly applied to guide exciting your consciousness, once awake, if the meanings are concentrated on.

First post here, but been a lurker for many moons.

Had (I think) my first AP experience last night. I have been trying this since last septmeber, albeit not every night and not with the setting the alarm technique. I woke about 3 in the morning and thought I would give this a try now, slowly starting falling back asleep and just imagined APing, and surely my body just sort of shot up as it was leaving and it really did freak the living daylights out of me. I suddenly came back and woke again shaking this time afraid of going back to sleep.

I didn't think I would be scared, quite the opposite in fact, but seeing as I never had this experience in my life before I can understand why it did freak me out. I now know I want to try it again, but this time try and go with the flow and try and control my feeling from scared to joy..

Anyway, thanks to OP for the tips, I just thought I would add my 2 cents..

Thats the same thing that happens to me when im about to AP.. i sometimes dream about AP so that im actually in a dream and dreaming that im trying to project and i suddenly feel the vibrations and if i go with it i suddenly shoot up real high and im back in a more real dream.. i know its a dream though cause i have APed 2 times i think and then it really felt like i was wide awake i cant do it when i want though and i have not tried in a while, and now when i was going to i cant cause im sick anyway you should try it again and just let it happen and dont think about it, good luck

The 4 in the morning method wasnt really the ticket for me (I fall asleep too easily) but it really got me interested. I've order several books on OBE and AP and am still trying to get it all figured out. Thanks for the insight along the way.

Another point i remember is a report of a woman doing this and it was said that she was actually seen in the US while actually being here in the UK. Dont know how true it is. my mother went into astral projection unwillingly or as you could call it accidently, an evil spirit pulled her out of her body and she had went to an evil church, a sacrificial church, she had seen a large black pentagram on the floor and she was standing in the window but it was misted, all foggy.

Although I have heard/read reports of this happening before, it is extremely rare. It is probably more likely to happen to someone with a higher level of intuition and consciousness. I don't believe that this type of projection, (if in fact that is what this case is) could happen to just anyone, but interestingly enough you automatically consider the spirit "evil" because of what it revealed. Why is that? Unless the spirit did or said something to your mother that would make it obvious, I wouldn't judge the spirit's intent solely by the images portrayed.

It's a very graphic and detailed projection and would like to hear more about others.

In my opinion the ability to see aura's and gain knowledge about others through intuition is a gift and I believe it definitely does play a big role in being able to meditate, and having a more aware and vivid journey in astral projection.

To hone you abilities or "gifts", I would recommend reading books, reading more books, discussion forums, and reading even more books. The more you understand Astral Projection, meditation, the spirit within, and how they work together; the better you will be able to function on the Astral Plane.

One fantastic book I would recommend is "Nothing In This Book Is True, But It's Exactly How Things Are." By Bob Frissell, he has other great reads, but I found this one most informative. It goes into detail on breathing exercises that will help you along your journey, along with tons of other useful information.

BTW, I just joined today , but have been a viewer of the forums for sometime. It's good to see Socrates back on the boards!

Okay....well i stumbled across some video on digg.com and they mentioned Astral Travel....so i googled it and found this thread.....i read and became interested.....
I tried tonight and it started to work....but the funny thing is the feeling that i felt when starting to leave my body was a feeling that i would sometimes feel at night without trying to project....sometimes i wake up during sleep and as i go back to sleep i feel my spirit leaving my body....but i would always stop it becuase it wouls scare me...wierd no?? this all happen without knowledge of projection with astral travel....and know that i know exactly what the feeling is all about im alittle scared to project intentionaly....

why would my spirit try to leave my body and astral travel without me wanting too or even knowing what it is???

@ David - Your situation is quite normal for someone who has a connection to their spiritual being. However, you may have not even known about this, but always had a feeling inside that, there was something more to dreams and our dimensional selves. It seems you are just coming to the point of realization that it is true, and since that is the case you are now beginning to correlate your past experiences with those of many others who experience the same phenomenon.

I would say that your subconscious mind or "spirit" is trying to break through to you at certain times basically screaming, "THERE'S MORE TO LIFE THAN THE WAKING WORLD!" That is why your spirit released from your body to the Astral Plane. Likely it is not an evil spirit that is trying to bring you into the Astral Plane, but it is your own subconscious mind doing it to yourself. Do not fear death in the Astral world, do not fear pain or evil in the Astral world. For the Astral world is unlike our own world filled with hate and criminal mischief. If you are still fearful of the process, then I would suggest you read some books on the subject. Whatever you do David, do not ignore this sign. If your spirit has been trying to leave your body, it is for a reason... And a reason you should explore. Good luck!!!

Last night I had a very rare lucid dream. Since trying to will myself to do this more often, I decided to keep a dream journal. I barely remember much, but I do remember some of it...

Family members that I do not see very often were involved, including a few that are no longer in this physical world. I believe at some point in the dream I was being wrongfully held in a tiny prison cell on the second floor. But instead of inmates in the cells, the prison was overrun with my friends and family. Strange.... Then in my dream, I go to the restroom (this is after I am out of my cell, but seemingly still in the prison) and my father hands me a package and tells me I got prize. (WTF!?) So I open it and it contains a few items. One item is a new cell phone, another is a short message I cannot remember, I believe it said something along the lines of "Expect a phone call." Well moments later the new cell phone rings and when I answer --------- END OF DREAM.

Anyone else keep a dream journal and would like to share??? Maybe I should start this as a new thread...

I'm new to the forum. I have a question for you guys. I'll start with the background info. My brother is currently in Asia and is studying with a certain "Master" who he claims can throw a person across the room with a flick of his wrists. This Master is revered by all around him and is teaching healing methods and all sorts of things. Anyway, to make a long story short, my brother has a bad relationship with my mom. Not too long ago, my mom says she received a visit from an "asian" looking guy in her room. My mom says she was definately awake and saw this guy just laughing at her. She felt goosebumps all over and told him in the name of Jesus Christ to leave and he left. Needless to say, we have no idea how this happened. Could this have been an astral projection? Can an astral projection have an evil purpose (not evil in of itself) and can a person astral travel across continents just by descriptions of a person. In other words, this guy had never met my mom but made it to the States? Was this a dream or could this have really happened?

Very intriguing question and story..

I am a mere student in metaphysics, OBE, and time travel, but I will do my best to answer your question based on my experiences and limited knowledge.

First, this does not sound typical of an Astral Projection for one because you are mixing the physical world with the spiritual planes. However if this "master" is as powerful as is claimed, then I would imagine it could be possible to send what is almost a "carbon copy" of your physical or spiritual self to another physical place and time, and project images and sound to others. The more one connects and learns about the powers within, the stronger the powers become and the less limits and constraints there are on what you can do. I am almost positive there are spiritual masters that can do this type of thing, but to do it for next to no reason would not make sense in their position of power.

Second as far as an astral projection having an evil purpose, I think it would need to be the person with negative thoughts and connotations that create an "evil projection".

Now of course legitimate scientific explanations would assume that your mother was dreaming or enduring some sort of traumatic stress, and a figment of her imagination created this "being". I am not one to pass it off that easily, and I am guessing since you ended up here, neither do you. There are many possible explanations, and without further information it is quite possible you will never know.

The master could have projected and shown himself to her or it could be the work of subconsious mind showing that the truth as some people believe are false and yeah astral projection can have an evil purpose but those who do this attract negativity to themselves i can assure that this is real

I just read airbuss post and i remembered about tibet lamas they could make manifest matter into forms they call 'tolpas' (or whatever it is called ) they can create exact copys of them so that master could have made his own copy and made it to have a purpose now the reason she saw it is because it was made by mind of an experienced master so it vibrated at a very hard frequency which i call ghost plane its like being half in astral and half in physical so it could still teleport sometimes tolpa continues to exist on its own independent of its creator .. i have a made a tolpa of rotten gooy meat it was pretty discusting flies flying around me i couldnt smell it but it seemed to attract flies somehow maybe because animals see more than us

I agree. Sounds like some other type of force....Maybe if you talk with your brother some more and see if he possibly allowed his master to do this we could know more....

Thanks guys. Yeah, this whole thing has been interesting for everyone. The wife of my brother says she is also a student of this master and says that my brother is the "first American" to receive special training of this Master. We all grew up in a Christian home and when my brother first started studying Chinese spiritualism, my mom reacted negatively towards it. Perhaps this was revenge from my older brother, I don't know. My mom has been very wary of this Master from the start, ever since she heard he could throw people across the room with a flick of his wrist. Her way of thinking was that if this master is truly a master healer, why does he throw people, to show power?

My brother is a very intriguing person. One thing that he's told me is that he's been able to see demons/spirits, etc all his life. Perhaps the astral plains has allowed him to focus more on these beings. What scares me is who he is meeting in these plains. He knows that demons are jealous of human beings having a physical body. Why tempt them? It kind of makes me think how demons have possessed human beings. Do they project themselves from the astral plain where they reside to physical bodies? Are you more likely to be possessed if you are traveling astrally since part of you is away from the body? Someone has stated that angels have been seen on these astral plains. Perhaps what we call guardian angels are the good angels who are watching us from these plains, perhaps warding off demons? In my church, we believe that we lived as "intelligences" before we were born in these bodies, that we all knew each other. To be more like God, we were sent down to be tested but that we wouldn't remember anything (the veil). Perhaps being on these astral plains, the veil is lifted and we see more what this universe is. Maybe this is what my brother is doing. In any case, I hope he is seeking the help of angels, and not demons.

Of course he isnt seeking demons ( i hope ) and demons cant do anything at all they are there just to hinder our spiritual growth but a dangerous thing is an emotional overload happened to me once in this overload all entitys can manifest into you causing horrible visions and stuff like that i thought i was going crazy! Those who ward away evil entitys are spirit guides and yeah i believe we all knew each other if we started from one (God) then we all must be one and angels are beings who never really left God so they are bassically light the higher part of us remembers it all though

So the plot thickens... And it gets even more interesting.

I understand where you and your family is coming from, as someone who is working in the states to save money to travel and learn the spiritualistic world of Taoism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and others; Yet growing up in a Baptist Christian household, I know the strain can be unnerving between family members wanting to study other religions.

Who knows how the throwing people with a flick of a wrist came from. That could be just a generalized thought put out by someone who doesn't know what the true arts of metaphysics is really about. And simply thinks a "Grand master" would use power to show strength. That is usually not true in these types of culture.

I have always read and felt it true that your spirit leaves your body but is connected by a silver rope, so one would assume that spirits on the Astral plane could know the physical location of the body. However being possessed by demons or evil spirits is not something I have encountered personally or through my studies.

You also have to remember there are other planes than just the Physical and Astral Planes. And there are multiple levels on each plane as well. Different spiritual beings operate on different levels in the plane and depending on the experience of the traveler, one could reach passed loved ones, guardian angels, or even higher beings such as Buddha and Jesus.

Also, many people experienced in Astral Projection use the powerful elements such as wind, water, earth, fire, and spirit to protect them from evil doer's in the Astral Plane.

You bring up a slew of great topics to discuss and I hope to further in the future. I have to go for now but ill leave you with this. In my current belief after death our spirit will ascend to a certain level on the Spiritual or Astral Plane depending on how developed and evolved out spirit and mind had become before death. I also believe in reincarnation. I say "current belief" because for years I have studied philosophy, religion, and spiritualism; Throughout that time my belief has evolved to the point it is at today and I imagine it will continue to until the day I die.

and i got a wierd question to verybody in general, is it possible to experience an OBE perposely while your eyes are open and you are fully aware of everything around you?
because when i was sitting down watching T.V. i decided to try a method, i gave myself that cold chill without the cold, my eyes were wide open, i wasnt concentrating on anything, then i tried moving my physical body backward to put my back on the back of the couch (because i was leaning foreward) and then i saw double of what was in front of me in the same place. this may sound wierd, probably because it was. does anyone think that its possible? if it is will it be easier for me to project? or will it give me a better advantage in the astral realm?

Yeah its possible its even easier for some people but it doesnt work for me though

my family is messed up in all kinds of ways, my mother can also predict the future through her dreams, my grandmother is telepathic, she can read anyone of my family member's minds, and one of my ancestors was in the sailum witch trials, and i have that ability that i had mentioned before. my family is quite wacked! and for the record my lil bro has that rainbow aura, and he is autistic, a type of handicaptism, and A.D.H.D. he is quite a special boy.
