OK......
Lets see how the things you say sound here.
You wake in the morning
-Brush your teeth
-Eat breakfast
-Go to work school
-You come back and you astral project
-You have dinner
-Astral project some more
-You walk the dog
-watch a stupid movie on TV
-Astral project walking your dog
-You may or may not sleep whats left of the day.
Next day you write about it, and share your experiences...
Anything see something wrong with that?
Yes you left out the part about bringing a sword with you to the astral plane I figured If I could bring my glasses why not a sword well........It worked (don't ask me why I own swords I just do) It was sick awesome next I will try getting people to see me and scare the living crap out of them. I just hope I am up to the challenge.

When I projected (or at least I think I did) I now realise that I was atn area of sandunes where I used to play as a child, but it was different, I had no fixed perspective, instead I was constantly shifting position and direction, it wasn't like a dream lucid or not and it wasn't like real life, it was something new.
Hmmm.... not sure but one morning, i opend my eyes, and i felt my bed shaking so having had that happen before i thought no...and as i couldent move my body, i tried so hard to stand up.... all of a sudden i was right up my wall and when i looked down.... there i was.... asleep on my bed

Then i started shifting around my room.... from on my bed. to by my door, to on the roof.... and then i saw an old woman sitting on my bed..... and looked at my dog then was back in my body and sat up...... wonder if that was AP ?

That is without doubt Astral Projection, though on a rather rudimentary level! The vibrating bed, is the astral form vibrating, anxious to get out!

May 6 2006, 05:28 AM
I think I did it!
I felt the vibrations and it got severe in a few seconds before I saw I and felt myself float out. But I found out that part of my body was stuck so I concentrated harder. I finally got out and I went off my bed and was suddenly outside a house. It was on the edge of a forest with a town infront of me. It wasn't far away, I'm guessing 200ft. I "flew" to a building and went up the side of a wall. Then I felt myself wake up or re-enter my body. I tried to get back out but just opened my eyes feeling I already did it.
But when I woke up, what I remebered was fuzzy and seemed like a dream.
Was this a dream or projection? I didn't know where I was except for my bed.

Oh, although I am definitely a skeptic of this, I tried Socrates' technique last night (more at five in the morning than four in the morning,

). While trying this purely out of curiousity, I felt something very strange- it felt a bit like there were two of me, and one was trying to separate itself from the other, as if they were attracted magnets being pulled apart.

Very strange. I don't think I went on any astral journies, but I thought it interesting nonetheless...

I'm really confused as to how I'll manage to do this properly, but I do have a question.
Often times, as I'm drifting into my REM cycle, I find myself tripping on something in a dream/walking into a wall/etc. and I get a sharp jolt as if my actions are defining my dream. My leg will kick up, for example.
Is this a small step to astral projection, or could all the skeptics be right about the experience being nothing but the product of a sharp, steady, strong imagination?
I'm leaning towards the latter, though I'd love to believe astral projection is possible. However, I've had dreams where I've fallen down, and as I'd wake up, my body showed the signs of the impact; sore back, a small bruise, etc.
Interesting topic though. But I have my strong doubts and my strong beliefs about it. I'm ... undecided. =)

Hi Saint-Hak,
The jolt sensation you felt could very well mean you were beginning to astral project. You got a fright though, so you were pulled back.
An answer to the guide question - when you astral project, you are able to see all kinds of different entities - ghosts, angels, you name it. Each of us has our own guide that waits for us in the astral. It could take any form - animal or human. If it wants to talk to you, it will probably talk to you in a way you will understand; in the language you speak.
Edit: Rude and uncalled for.

It's not disorientation, even now I can feel it! It is like want to come out of myself, and I can feel myself moving even though I am physically still. Moreover, when meditating, it is almost as though I can see things from another perspective. It is not disorientation, as I can feel the same vibrations that one gets from sleep astral projection. So please some advice from some one who as done it, rather than read about it!

Well, I have landed here. About astral projection, tried a few conciously but distractions failed my expirementation. Unconciously, I got projected 4 days ahead of time.
I usually write my dreams. They're mostly black and white and few have colors.
My big astral event was freightening that I woke up perspiring with chills and a faster heartbeat. 4 days later, the event happened. It was telecast on TV and sent me shivering.
That event makes me a believer in precognition.
Socrates instruction might be useful to my quest. I'll try it someday. If successful, I'll try to locate socrates location.

This is a central concept in Rosicrucianism --- a place to meet up on the astral plane. We call it the "Celestial Sanctum." It's initially taught in a little booklet, Liber 777. But I suspect if one searched the Internet you could find many descriptions of it and techniques on getting there.

Thanks Socrates for sharing your technique. I haven't tried hard to do astral projection but have experienced it once, I aim to try your technique out a few times this week.
In my one experience, I was laying down for a short nap but never fell into a deep sleep. I was in some peculiar state of consciousness and had a floating feeling. All of a sudden I was floating right outside of my 3rd story bedroom window, about 30 feet in the air! I didn't feel panicked but was pulled smoothly back through the wall/window and into my body on my bed and peacefully (woke up or regained full consciousness). It was a really cool experience, but I wish I hadn't been pulled back into my body so soon, it would have been cool to float about my property at my own will.
Many times I have woken up to hear my name being called or have heard a large slapping sound that wakes me up. My heart has always been racing. This could be related to astral projection?? It is a terrifying experience when it happens, and I figured it was something supernatural but I never experience ghostly/haunting problems in my house so I have been wondering what the hell could explain these experiences.
Well if you have any ideas please share them, but good post

http://home.comcast.net/~neardeath/nde/001_pages/31.htmlhttp://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/09/19/...ain522488.shtmlMaybe science is going to exlpain it soon ?
It's probably going to be explained as an illusion of the brain (since it has been succesfully simulated years ago), and the people who claim to have visited other galaxies, witnessed alien civilizations, claim that Mars isnot red because they 've been there, talked to Jesus, saw demons and angels are going to be considered lunatics or attention wh*res

just like the people who claim that God talks to them .... what a tragedy
Don't get me wrong, I myself had such experiences... In the beginning I thought it was some kind of lucid dreaming.
Anyway my most recent experience was like this... I was at the outside of the church were I used to go when I was a child (now i don't go to the church

) and I was fully aware of what was happening, i was also able to move very fast (i would just reach the place I wanted with 0 traveling time). So I went to the road which was in front of the church, and noticed 2 people walking, an old lady which looked kinda sad (white hair, black clothes, the usual 80 year old lady), and an old man who was some steps behind (i can remember their faces (with details) !) then I thought "oh, I 'm dreaming! I am god here!! Yeah, that old lady should bump on that wall. And so it happened... she walked straight into a building's wall! The old man ran to help her, I kinda got scared because of his reaction because when he helped her stand up again he looked straight at my direction and i wasnot sure if he could see me or not, anyway I thought that that's the part where I should start flying or exploding stuff before i wake up... but instead of that, I felt something grabbing me, and pulling me down... My first thought ? What is happening ? I am god here! Anyway started descending in some sort of void and I appeared in my room... floating some feet above my bed... My first thought ? If someone enters my room is he going to see me flying ? My second thought ? What is holding me ? How the f*** will I get down ?? I 'm like the girl from the exorcist!
And the invisible force that held me up there, decided to lower me gently till I reached my bed, and gained full control of my body (my eyes were open i didnot had any "aah.. rubbing eyes i just woke up" effect. )
By looking at the clock I realized this whole thing lasted around 40 minutes. (but I remember only 1 minute

)
I cannot say that was something paranormal, maybe a cool lucid dream. And there is no proof that my experience = paranormal. I believe this is some kind of illusion, you go like "i 'll leave my body, i 'll leave my body" and you trick your mind into making you dream that you left your body. "I 'll go to the kitchen, I 'll go to the kitchen" and you go to the kitchen. It happened to me many times, but I never saw something that I never knew, and I never had 100% freedom.
So I don't know about you, but I consider my experiences as illusions and a victory of self-control and the power of suggestion (because without these 2 it isnot possible).

I am messed around with astral projection, I will be getting back into it full force again pretty soon. I have used the hemi-sync audio cd's to induce the state where your mind is fully awake and your body is asleep and hard to move(said to be the best state in which to induce AP).

I only experimented with this back in the day, about 2 years ago, being so i would be much better now, and will probly learn agian. Develop focuse, and with enough focuse, one can do anything. relaxation is key. Do it when you have energy, i remember back in the day, one thing i had trouble with is my body would start vibrating, even then its all good, just a matter of relaxation.

i find that the trouble with projecting, is enduring the mind space.
one needs to be REALLY relaxed when doing this. The last time i projected i was extrememly relaxed, involentaraly relaxed (sedative).
i would say that one day maybe science can put their thumb on what it is... probably about the same time that they can measure love, or the soul. lol... long time away.

I've got my reservations about this. You bring up the Biblical explanation, but nowhere does it say anything about leaving your body to fly around.
Second, do you know who these "guides" are?
Third, if you believe in Angels, Demons, Ghosts, etc... then what's to say that when your consciousness, or soul, leaves your body, that something else doesn't take it over while you're on holiday?
It all seems like a nice change from day to day monotony, but it's also a very dangerous thing. Although
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astral_projection uses the same Biblical reference as you do, it is taken out of context. The use of "in the spirit" has nothing to do with astral projection. It's referring to the Holy Spirit, praying in the Holy Spirit. The trance is related to just that, and not leaving your body.
Astral Projection has been studied extensively, and it's authenticity is still inconclusive. It is believed by some to be real, and by others to be psychological, lucid dreams, etc... Personally, I've had some VERY vivid dreams that felt too real to have been just dreams. I've felt like I've fallen back into my body and jolted awake. Does it mean I've left my body? Absolutely not. It just means my imagination (a dream) created a sense of falling. It's pretty easy to explain, considering that when you're awake, and someone touches your arm, you feel it. But when you're asleep, you can slap some people in the face and they won't wake up, they don't feel it, and have no recollection of it in the morning. Your brain is fully capable of tuning off some senses and creating others within itself, which in turn can create a false reality. Whether it be when you're asleep, or when you are in a traumatizing event. Everyone has their own set of triggers.
I have to agree in part here.
I have participated in astral projection and yes funnily enough it was when I was younger about 12-13 I am now 34...lol I haven't done it for years because to be perfectly blunt I was afraid.
At that time I was heavily into reading about witchcraft and demonology and religion and theology just a normal enquiring mind. My english school teacher was alovely woman infact very lurvely anyway enough of my school boy crush's she either sawe something in me or just took a guess that I would be interested in astral projection and asked if I wanted to borrow a book on the subject. I did and followed the techniques within and found they worked. The first time I freaked it was like when you are drifting off to sleep and you feel like your falling off a cliff. Well I continued and found myself hovering about my room looking down on myself however I never ventured any further. I am unsure as to why.. I then read about Atsral Demons I am sure that was the term. If I am not mistaken what they would do is kinda hunt around for folk that were projecting then nick in and take over the body and leave you high and dry wandering about in the ether. I am not saying that is possible however I did read something along those lines and it scared the crap out of mine..bearing in mind I was only 13 years old. I thought no thanx not for me and haven't really made a proper attempt since.
Have you any information on astral demons or if there is some other name and how possible is it that they may be able to take over the body of someone who's soul is out for a wander?
Any info would be greatly appreciated thanx ... depending on the answers received I might just give it a go again

thanks Morph

NOW THE CRAZY PART. My boyfriend died 3years ago on april 27th and im always thinking about him, but on this particular day (may 1st) i started to REALLY think about him...i thought about every moment we shared together, not really even thinkin about me thinkin about it (you follow?) later on when i went to school i was outside smokin and this guy comes runnin to me and asks me for a cig..so then we started talkin a little bit and when we exchange names, i didnt even realize at first but he had the same name as my boyfriends middle name which i thought was really crazy because it is NOT a common name and i had been thinkin about him allllll day. Now my first question is do you guys think that by accidental astral projection loved ones that have passed can communicate with you? and show you signs through the physical world as well?
Second question do you think sleepwalking is anyway related to astral projection?
Third question wouldnt you think that this is at all linked to satan and his powers to take over our souls?

well... to be honest marv, the last time it happened was when i got surgery on my knee. They gave me a mandetory sedative to make me pass out, but i wasn't quite out yet.
My soul left my body and i could see myself and the doctors about to operate on me, talking about the tools and everything. It wasn't scary, more astonishing than anything.
I ended up shooting back into my body, and lifting one of my arms up, to state that i wasn't 100% out yet. The anesthetic doctor then trippled my dosage and i totally passed out lol.
I talked to the doctors after my experience, they told me i have a high tolerance, and that my experience wasn't "uncommon".

Hmm I had read some articles regarding OBE during anaesthetic surgery. Any chance to know what kind of drugs that doctor gave you?
The article refer to Ketamine...

to be honest marv, i have no idea.
and to add to your post, that's a great idea... i never thought of trying to get that sedative again...
i wonder if i have my perscription around somewhere still. lol. i doubt it though.
You could research: "ACL ligament sugery." and find out what kind of sedative they use.

Marvy, i wouldnt try special k if i were you. I was hooked for 2 years. Luckily i never had any bad experiences with it but i saw people falling into serious k-holes and seriously hurt themselves. And if you ever try it NEVER MIX WITH LSD!!!! And besides it rots your teeth from the inside out!
