Hi,

I have been reading about 30 pages in this thread, until I noticed that there were in fact 200 I decided to stop!

I have tried Astral Projecting, I made myself completely comfortable and relaxed but my eyes twitched strangely, why is that? I would say it took me about, like, 15 minutes but I really did not have "a goal" and there was not complete silence. I am hoping to achieve something tonight.

My friend said he has not visited the Astral Plane but went into his Astral form. I don't understand... Is that even logical/possible?

Thanks! original.gif

Hi again,

I read somewhere that you can go to the past and the future in the Astral Plane. Have any of you ever achieved this? I heard someone had achieved this and saw the Astral Plane underwater in the year 2012.

Anyway, I when I Astral Project myself tonight will I be able to see my tortoise again? She meant a lot to mean, I know some of you might think "What the Hell? It's just a damn tortoise!" but she meant a lot to me and I would love to see her again. She was quite small when she died, how will I find her in the Astral Plane, should I ask my guide?

By the way, my friend's guide is ignoring him, so he says, would anyone know why if he is actually telling me the truth?

Thanks again. original.gif

I'm excited! I can't wait to try it. I've always wanted to but just needed to figure out how.
LostInThought
I would like to know what you see when you get to the "astral plane" like..lets say you are in your bed, then you reach astral projection how do you know you are out of your body? Like are you just in your bedroom or are you in a whole new world or something? You know what I mean? Like I'm wondering is it just like getting up out of your body and looking back and seeing yourself lying there and you can wonder around freely? Like if you want to visit China do you have to walk all the way to china? Or also, does time stand still? Like in a dream how a dream that seems like it took an hour only took a couple seconds? How is time measured?

I'm excited to try this because I think I have accidentally started to astral travel many times while falling asleep before but I never actually did it because I would jolt then go to sleep like normal.

Thanks for responses!
LostInThought
Oh one more question!! I know this one is probobly a stupid question and sorry for keep posting but.. should I wear pants to bed cuz I usually sleep in my underwear and I don't want to astral project around and what if I see someone and im in my underwear or worse not wearing a shirt. >.<

So should you dress for the occasion? Thanks.

It seriously looks like you haven't done any research at all. You just read a sentence on what Astral Travelling and decided it's nice. Your questions can be easily answered by just surfing the net in 5 minutes. Go on, search.

No you are wrong, I have researched. I've heard about it for years because I hear it on Coast to Coast Am all the time. And I've read atleast 50 pages of this post. I know that you can "transform" into an animal or whatever you want to, I suspect you have to be really good at what your doing to be able to do that, but I'm just wondering as soon as you project do you appear the same way you were when you fell asleep. I've read you don't have a physical body but I am confused because people say they can see their legs, arms, hands, etc.

Also for my nap today I practiced a little and I just felt alot of pressure and then the pressure made me feel like I had to pee but I didn't want to move I wanted to keep everything flowing but I would feel like I was floating a little out of my body so I would move a finger and realize that it was still my physical finger...so nothing really happened.

AP takes a ton of focus and self determination. I've been trying it for months on and off and have gotten close a couple times, but no cigar yet original.gif

You should check this link out: Astral Projection - How To Guide

If you read the whole thing I think it will help you. It tells you a wonderful way called ROPE and other teqniques (sp) on how to project. I am in love with the article actually and it is in my favorites for me to use a reference.

Yeah I actually started coming into this thread and observing about 20-30 pages into Ziggy's explanation. I've read quite a few techniques since then, and I try them all. I'm positive it will work; I just have a hard time staying still and concentrating.

I have only given it one shot and I entered the trance state but never got vibrations or sounds or anything like that and someone came through my door and it snapped me out of it. But I felt dizzy and stuff when I got out of bed.
heinrich1858
So what do you think of Hemi Sync? I tried a free downloadable mp3 which I understand is not the desired format(it should be wav - mp3 loses a lot of the frequency etc) (Link)

This is a guided astral projection. First relaxation then brain wave sounds at the end. Sounds quite like a few beeps and tones here and there.

Is this the way that hemi sync is supposed to sound? I cannot purchase the Monroe CD's because of lack of funds. So I am looking for free hemi sync audios.

Any way this file helped me relax a lot faster even if that is all it did the first time round and I cannot wait to try it tonight.

Last Nights Try:

After breathing exericises and concentrating on my chakras for a bit I finally felt my body enter trance. I was concentrating on myself above me breathing my atral body out of my physical body, because I couldn't stay focused on the rope. Eventually I felt a few intense tingles flow through my whole body a few times but then I would lose focus and nothing further would happen. I did feel my body do some twitching too when I got the tingles. I didn't make it to the vibrations or sounds though which I was trying really hard to acheive. I will practice everynight I go to bed and hopefully something will happen. If I could just get a part of my body to project that would be a great accomplishment for me at this point. People say their head or body just "pops out" it is kind of hard for me to imagine, well I can imagine it but I just want to feel it so badly. happy.gif I may eventually try some of them bilinear beats..or whatever they are called.

Oh and also my head and neck would feel REALLY heavy and tense..I don't know what that was it would make me lose focus cuz it would feel like I was just barely lifting my head up a couple centimeters so I would lose focus cuz I would have to move my head a little to make sure I wasn't physically holding it up.
AllP0werToSlaves
I am going to do this tonight no matter how long it takes me original.gif

LostInThought: Funny that you ask about the clothing issue, I was just discussing this with my girlfriend the other day. What I was telling her is that I have never experienced myself as naked when projecting regardless of how much clothes I was wearing physically. Also, I have never encountered other naked astral projectors or astral "people" on other planes, they always have clothes. Of course, at times they may undress for various reasons (*wink wink, nudge nudge*) but they have never initially appeared without clothes for me.

Regarding my own appearance, I usually find myself either invisible or partial invisible, sometimes I am completely solid. However me perceiving myself as invisible doesn't seem to affect the way other astral entities perceive you, as they can still see me in most cases. If I project and fly around here in the physical world I will be invisible for any physical person though of course unless they have some astral sight.

Best of wishes!

I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to discuss that here.

Though I think I can be allowed to give some basic information regarding research I've done on entheogens (psychoactive plants/herbs etc) and their use for spiritual purposes such as out of body experiences in indigenous populations that employ the use of such substances.

Salvia Divinorum is a plant that has been highly attributed for generating out of body experiences and astral projections. I can't think of any other that has been reported to have such high frequency of out of body experiences related to it, although this has been reported in a huge amount of various entheogens including cannabis.

But when it comes to shamanism and actual use for this specific purpose I can't think of any indigenous groups using cannabis for this although such effects have been reported, but in Mexico which Salvia Divinorum is native to it is used in specific areas (specially Oaxaca, where its most commonly found) salvia is widely used for spiritual purposes including generating out of body experiences and projections to other astral planes.

If you are interested in the study of Entheogens I suggest checking out sites such as http://www.entheology.org, http://www.entheogen.com, http://www.lycaeum.org , http://www.erowid.org and of course wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entheogen

This is a many thousand years old practice and is an interesting field of study, personally I'm working with a film producer on some future plans on a documentary about different tribes and indigenous groups of latin americas including their involvement with shamanism and use of entheogens.

DarkBreed: I appreciate your responses. You seem to know a great deal about this, so can I ask you then..do you have a technique to acheive projection? And have you ever tried the Salvia products?

you seem to know a great deal about Astral Projection, and so I registered just so I could get in touch with you.

I've been interested in this for some time now, but it's always led to a failed attempt. I think it's because I'm too fidgety and that allowing my body to be perfectly still is near impossible for me for extended periods of time as I get a tingling feeling from being so motionless, and asmuch as I try to fight the urge to move and get more comfortable, I always fail.

Could that be my problem and is there any way around this?

Also, what would you recommend for other ways to attempt to achieve projection?

I have a sleeping disorder, so I go to sleep around the time the sun comes up, and because of that, I can't exactly set an alarm clock to wake me up after approximetly entering the REM state, because it's much too hot here for me to possibly be able to get back to sleep at that point in time.

Any suggestions?

Greatly appreciated, thank you.

-Ryan

I remember I couldnt stay still etiher cause I'd get random twitches and stuff...But don't think about it, it isn't that hard. Now I can do it perfectly. If you have an itch, fight it, if you feel weird and wanna move, suck it up. And don't only do that while sleepin. Do it durin the day too. It helps alot. In alot of aspects, not jus astral projection.

If you have a lot of trouble relaxing, check out some of I-doser.com's doses. In particular their Alpha, Theta, and Gamma doses do absolute wonders for hitting peak meditative states (some of these states take years for meditation practitioners to achieve of their own accord) and you can hit the state reliably every time. Otherwise you can always record your own guided relaxation tape or recording on your computer and just have it guide through your muscle groups. If you aren't careful and paying attention though all of these methods can put you to sleep fairly easily so you have to maintain your intention till your body is comatose. Hope this helps!

For those who want to know how to increase their astral projection skills I highly recommend my own thread called "Increase your astral projection skills" over at http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...howtopic=118375

It's goal is to help people gain better experiences with astral projection, understanding how to make them more efficient, what they can do to make it work better, and so on.

That's it main purpose, it purpose it not to speculate much about the astral projection topic on its own and all things related, but more or less on specific exercises, methods, techniques etc to improve the astral projection ability.

It got plenty of useful info for both beginners as well as advanced projectors, and most people into this topic could probably learn something from there as well. Feel free to ask any questions, or add comments and advice, to the topics mentioned in http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...howtopic=118375

Another purpose of the thread is to narrow down the amounts of topics and threads constantly being made on this topic, and to keep it all in one place where it is easy to find. I see it fitting well to this current thread which is more broad than my own, and anyone may feel free to take part of both.

With that said, best of luck to you all, and may you be out there having great adventures!

To those who may have an answer:
The other night I was in the middle of a dream, when suddenly it felt as though my back was vibrating/tingling. I started 'flying' and I wondered if I astral-travelling, so I put my hand through walls, and looked round without moving my head and things...however, I then thought about my body and woke up :/ Upon waking, I remembered this and pondered for a while - when I realised, when I was 'astral-projecting', I was still in the dream landscape.
So, does anyone know, was this real astral-travelling or just lucid-dreaming?
Thanks!

Hello. I'm new here.
I tried 3 times to astral travel.

Last night, I was lying on my bed. After a certain time my arms, legs and my chest were very heavy. (It felt like somthing heavy is on my body.)
And few minutes later I felt a pressure in my nose original.gif
But i was not able to go to astral world.

Are this first experiences good???? Am I on the right way?

I found hemi sync mp3 downloads. Astral Society

Also check out Salvia Dragon (Please scroll to the bottom of the page and download the mp3 you can enter any email address if you are worried about
spam. Just ignore the herbs etc that they are selling.

These downloads are free of charge. Just "right click" on the astral society downloads and "save target as".

I have used these free hemi sync or brainwave sounds and it has helped me to become almost instantly relaxed when I try to AP. Hope this helps .

Yeah I thought everybody knew that. I listened to it unknowingly that my headphones were broken. happy.gif
Lucky I had a second set and I used them last night totally different experience!!

I use my Samsung SGH E250 headphones and listen to the music using them. You get the headphones with the phone when you buy it.

If you can, please try out these sounds(In my post above). Using headphones of course. It increases your focus and relaxation time like ten fold. I could not believe how much this helped me.

I didn't know that with the stereo headphones. (but i think the most headphones are stereo.)
I tried this last night. But i think I do someting wrong. I listen it over 10 times and nothing "special" happend.
How long do you listen to this track until you are in this state?

Well I did do the relaxation exercises for doing AP for many years without using hemi sync so I get into the relaxed state quite easy although not all of the time without hemi sync , but using it instantly helps me.

What I would suggest is to first follow the guides provided in this thread or another AP thread .

Basicly you need to do a deep breathing excersize while picturing pure white light entering the chakras with each inhalation one each breath. Deep breathing is easy if you use the methods as outlined here.

(Use the 6 in hold for 3 six out method using one pulse beat as one count and do not worry about precision so much I did in the beginning it only has to be round about that long thats why I no longer count along with the excersize )

Then after the breathing excersize (you do not need to do the breathing excersize long if you are a beginner) start relaxing you body and clearing your mind. The salvia dragon clip which is 20min long with a voice telling you what to do each step as you relax is a good beginning.

Also lying on your back eyes closed is how I would recommend you start out.
Do what works for you. Do not expect to much in the beginning. Do not force it just let go!

I tried this 2 nights ago. I'm not sure what happened with me, but as I asked for my spiritual guide to help me out of my body my hands started to feel so warm and I felt a minor vibration in them. And I saw this purple colour move like waves over my eyes.
But as I started to get a headache I stopped right away.

Is this normal? huh.gif

Ziggy,
I'm new to the board and I want to thank you for all the info you put up on this subject. I was hoping you could tell me whether or not I experienced this when I was 11 (or anyone else who would like to reply).

I lived far from my dad and I missed him very much. One night (in my dreams?) I wanted to see him so I decided to visit him. I do not remember seeing my body or any chord. I do remember where I was at the time (Georgia) and kind of zapping over to my dad’s house in Florida in a matter of seconds. I had a point of view as though I was at ceiling level and moving very quickly. I moved through his house and came to his bedroom. I could see him sleeping, but it was pretty dark. The whole experience felt as though it only lasted a minute or two. Is your vision the same when you travel or can you see like a cat or something?

When I was teen, I asked my mom about this & she told me how she saw me being born because she was in so much pain that she left her body. This amazed me so I decided to read a book on it and I tried many times to repeat this with no luck. I will take your advice and keep trying. Thanks again for your input.

Just a couple odd questions:
Can you really get stuck on a power line? If so, do you just pull yourself free?
Is astral sex really possible?
Time travel past and future? sorry so long winded....

No its perfectly safe. There are however different points of view thats why I gave you links to many sites.

German well I can read german although not that well. I speak afrikaans which is close to Dutch.
I envy you for speaking 3 languages thats tough. You should read up on AP a lot if you can.

The more you know the better. The only thing to be afraid of is fear itself. Fear on the astral will give power to other astral entities wich can hurt you psychologically , but not physically.

I liked to read the books of Robert Monroe , because he describes his astral travels in such detail that you can actually go on a journey with him.

Human nature hey. Well I suppose we could all switch to Darkbreeds thread. This thread was how I discovered UM. original.gif

I would also like to add that no one technique works for astral projection. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another. I myself get the OBE sensations from relaxing (Lying flat on my back and listening to hemi sync) and then just trying to relax as deep as possible while imagining myself as outside my body.

The hemi sync has helped a lot with the relaxation. My best OBE's were after I had gone to sleep. So they could be Lucid dreams. When I consciously try to OBE I black out and then usually wake up on the floor unable to move.

My biggest wish is to be able to experiment with OBE's to discover weather they are a hallucination or if they are real.

Below are some quotes from a book that I have been reading called "Astral Projection and The Nature of Reality" By John Magnus- Maybe they will help you. It sounds to me that your physical feelings are fear. As far as the loss of sleep, you might consider changing your user name. The Universe and your subconscious mind picks up on these things and creates them for you.

Astral projection is at odds with the ego's idea of physical survival. First, the ego thinks projection is a waste of time, since it does not do much to further our wealth or in any other way increase our physical security. Second, the job of the ego is limited to the physical realm, therfore it does not care about anything outside the physical, including the astral. Thus the ego will object whenever we attempt to shift our awareness away from the physical, as we do in astral projection. It will even try to trick us into shifting our awareness back to the physical.

Your first astral projection will probably go without a hitch, but it will allow the ego to see that astral projection is not in its best interest. Once it has drawn that conclusion, the ego will attempt to sabotage your subsequent attempts at AP. This includes diverting your attention as you attempt to AP, scaring you when you successfully project, surpressing your memories of the projection after you return to your body, and advocating the theory that "it must have been just a dream"

Exercise: In the Absence of fear
1. When you wake up tomorrow, tie a short thread around one of your fingers like a ring.
2. Tell yourself: "Each time I look at this ring, I will feel no fear or worry."
3. Go about your day.
4. Every time you see the ring, remember your pledge. Release any fear or worries you may have at the moment.
5. At the end of the day, evaluate whether the absence of fear and worry made your day easier or put you at greater risk at harm. (What you have been doing throughout the day is consciously interrupting a subconscious process: the ego' control mechanism by fear. In other words, you have nipped the ego's takeover in the bud.)
6. Ask yourself: "Did this absence of fear and worry threaten my future security or endanger me in any way?" Most likely, you will find that the absence of fear gave you clarity of thought, which helped you see more opportunities around you. Seeing those oppurtuities increases your chances for future security. Now we see that the ego is defeating its own purpose by not allowing you to take advantage of the opportunities. With that realization, the ego automatically transforms to work for you instead of against you.

Most likely, you will find that the absence of fear gave you clarity of thought, which helped you see more opportunities around you. Seeing those oppurtuities increases your chances for future security. Now we see that the ego is defeating its own purpose by not allowing you to take advantage of the opportunities. With that realization, the ego automatically transforms to work for you instead of against you.

I always use my pains and fears, when in Dreamscape, most like to call it astral projection, and such dreamscaping, but to most that I know, we came up iwth Dreamscape, since it's sort of like that. I figure dreaming is different most, depending on how like minded those people are, and how will they can succumb or overcome a certain fear. Most people just call them fears, I like to refer my fears as demons, since that is the case interpretation of most fears around the world.

My worst fears: the dark, birds, and big houses, no idea why big houses, something from childhood I tended to forcefully forget, then we got people who actually try and forget their fears, or push them away, I hate to say it, that's sort of a bad idea when it comes to astral/dreamscaping projections. It's best to face that which frightens you head on, it'll make you different in the end, like washing off a certain dirt can make you a little bit cleaner then normal.

As for falling, that's always, as dying dreams, that's an interesting one too, I guess, only had that happen twice before, haven't since I don't run from my fears, not good for ya in the longer run.

My suggestion to anyone who has fears at all, should just face them, I mean I sleep in a big house, that I have, and in the dark no less, and as for birds, sort of still hate the buggers. It makes you feel a sense of bettering yourself, and gives you an edge when asleep at night, fear is the mind killer, let the fear pass through you.

Like that, dreams have many levels, and many a doors to go through, even though most of the time those certain doors are locked, try opening them, there is no door in the dream world that should never be opened, or that case why would it even be there. I open new doors to mysterious dreams, none my own every night, doors that would seldomly be locked for pretty much everyone else. To me, it's like they just open for me, and it's as if they were never locked in the first place, some doors however, no one should open, and their there, for a purpose, to let you know they are there not to be opened, as an acknowledgement of them. These doors for me, are white, with black trimming, and have no handles on them, I try and project them saying on it, keep out workers fixing problem.

Like dreams, there are many doors, and many portals to different aspects of dreams, for every portal there's also gateways to cross, sometimes it's not best to even acknowledge the gateways, since there's always a 99% chance somone is camping out there watching for idiots to go by. To latch on and do sort of mindful piggy back, and that's when it hits, you got's someone's in your's mind buddy. Heh cool, I go through them anyway.

Go your own way in peace

Question, so lets say you want a travel buddy , would it be possible to kinda just show up in there dream, and tell them hey its just a dream, your dreaming right now , or something along the lines of that. then they will be aware that there dreaming( lucid ) then use that as a portal to the astral plane . then you and your friend could travel around together.
Just something i thought up, let me no if u think it would work!! grin2.gif
