I tried yesterday and had results!!
I kept thinking of "I want to Astral Travel, I'm going to leave my body", "I ask for help for Guardian Angels or Spirit Guides to help me leave my body!" and then when I was about to fall asleep suddenly my mind was like TV without signal and then my whole body is vibrating violently and my eyes twitching vigorously. After that, I knew that I was going to project, I kept thinking of those quotas but unfortunately, still unable to project.

Is that a sign?

QUOTE (Cherish @ Sep 21 2008, 05:54 AM)

I think I might have experienced this, but I'm not sure...
When I was I around eleven or twelve, I was about to go to sleep when I felt this wierd sensation...it's not exactly like you described, but similar. On my naval I felt this strong pulling sensation and vibrations and my whole body stiffened...It felt like I was caught between sleep and awakeness, and I was aware I was lying in bed but I couldn't open my eyes. I tried hard to open them - I was terrified, but I couldn't. Then it was like I fell into some sort of wierd dream. I was trying to walk in the dream, but my legs either completley refused to move or moved very slowly and jerky. Then, I stopped trying to physically move and just thought about walking...and I started moving. After that, it was like I had total control. I could think about a place or person and bam! I was there.
When I woke up, I actually felt more rested than normal. I've been having these experiences on-and-off for years now, and I just kind of assumed it was lucid dreaming...but can it be astral traveling instead? I'm confused.

The sensations you felt are typical of astral traveling. However, you should aim to make astral travel is a fully conscious experience so that it doesn't feel like a dream. Your level of consciousness during astral travel will alter how real the projection feels. The key is to project with complete consciousness.
QUOTE (Kamao @ Sep 22 2008, 05:52 PM)

Just wondering. Ive read in this topic that people have traveled to other places and outer space. How is that possible? How fast can a person travel?
There are, within reason, no limits to the speeds or distances one can travel. Outer space can be reached with ease.

You felt the correct sensations, so you're definitely on the right track. Simply keep persisting - it sounds like you're very close.

Yesterday when I woke up in the morning I had in memory that I began to vibrate in the night when i tried to project. (I can remember how my feets vibrated

.) But maybe it was a dream. Because i didn't woke up when this happened. Strange...

I had a strange incident yesterday afternoon. I was on my bed watching tv and i was sleepy. I decided to sleep for a couple of hours, i usually do that before i go to work. I turned off the tv before i went to sleep. I dont know for how long i was asleep, but after a while i felt very strange. I felt like i was outside of my body, pretty strange feeling, but i wasnt completely out of my body. I was trying to get loose, and i think my upper body was "out" of my body, if you know what i mean, i felt that something was trying to keep me in my body. Weird thing is that i was awake in some way, i knew what i was doing and then i started to think about this topic and i really tried to get out and tried to concentrate on the roof, but i just couldnt get out since the force holding me back was so strong, i could turn from side to side while my body was laying still. Im pretty sure i heard some distant voices, i couldnt tell if they were calling for me or not, and then i just gave up and went back to sleep, but i remember all of it. I dont know if it was a dream or if it was astral projection of some sort, but it was very very weird.
I hope someone can help me out here. I just wanna find out what happened. I have a good memory when it comes to my life, and i remember alot of my dreams and i can also control sometimes what happens in my dreams, i dont know what that is called again. But what happened yesterday has never happened to me before, it was something completely new and different!

I had new results yesterday.
I did the usual procedures again. But, instead of vibrating vigorously and with my mind like a TV without signal, this time, it's a different thing.
The feeling was like, yeah, at first my eyes were twiching.. After that, my mind went all black and even though I closed my eyes, it seems like I was pulled infront.. I don't know how to explain this eerie feeling but it was damn scary. I was like pulled infront slowly and somehow things are becoming bigger (even though I had my eyes closed), I couldn't feel the other parts of my body, except for my heart beat (heart area). The feeling was like, I was ready to project but was just waiting for my physical body to fall asleep. It was like I've lost my arms and legs that I couldn't feel them.. Somehow a drifting sensastion. I kept repeating the quotations again and again and eventually I opened my eyes because I thought I felt the wrong sensation.
Is this another sign but in a different sensation? Why couldn't I project? Is it because I didn't visualize myself being at a corner of my room?
I didn't visualize myself because I'm very bad at visualizing. Not very bad, but. I can't visualize and say "I'm going to Astral Travel......." 2 at a time.

I used to have vivid dreams where I walked out of bed and through my house. I also sometimes fall half asleep, and wake up after feeling a falling and jolting sensation. Is this astral projection, ot just a really active imagination?

Wow, this thread is still up and running! It's a shame I haven't had any experiences lately but my dreams have become more vivid again, which in the past has been a sign that some lucid dreams and projection-related sensations might come soon. Gotta start concentrating more again. I seem to dream more vividly at my own crib than at my girlfriend's though. Once I think I projected but I got so freaked I jumped right back and haven't had such strong experiences since. :/

This morning a woke up at 05:00 and tried to project. I was lying 1 to 2 hours. I had a strange feeling in my arms and chest. And somethings I saw a bright flash. Is this good? I think, I am on the wrong way

And another question. Do I have to lie on the back? After a while it begins to hurt (I have a hard bed)

Is it possible to lie on the left or right site and to project?

Hey, everyone! I'm Sammy, and I had a weird experience last night. Not exactly weird, but it could have been a start to astral travel. I don't know, really.
Anyway, I have no clue what time it was. I felt a strong falling sensation; I jolted awake. I was breathless, and I knew RIGHT THEN that I could have projected. Then I fell back to sleep. It had to have been 3 in the morning, because it was dark and my door was closed [after I fall asleep, my parents close my door] but I can barely remember. I remember this :
I felt like I was falling or there was a big pressure on me. I woke with a gasp. I looked down at my feet but it was so dark I couldn't really see them. I thought about how I missed my chance to project; how it would have been so hard to resist that pressure. I was breathless. I went to sleep.
I'm 10, so maybe that matters. I have felt that falling feeling before, and I hope no one calls me 'a little kid who is just living in a fantasy world.' Haha, I don't care if you're a skeptic; go ahead and reply. I need all the advice I can get! Thanks in advance <3

That seems like astral projection to me. The pressure and the falling are clear sings of AP especially while being asleep. By the way you shouldn't be sorry if you missed your chance

especially if it caught you by surprise. Similar experiences had happened to me lots of times and i failed in almost all of them lol , im sure you will still have your chance

Don't feel back about being young and certainly never say your sorry. I learned what AP was when I was about 13 and I had
been on the verge of APing when I was as young as 7. When I was 7 I just assumed that everyone did it. That is exactly what I feel

Yeah, I got that falling sensation at 7, too! I'd be like, "Mom, do you ever get that feeling like you're falling through the bed?" She would always be like, "Yeah, that's you falling asleep." And then I would say, "I heard once that it's your soul falling out of you." Hah, now I know better than that

OMG I'm writing this post because I felt something strange 15 mins ago when I tried to astral travel.
I did the usual procedure, thinking about astral travel and leaving my body, until slowly I started to feel numb and then can't feel some of my body parts.
Later on, I felt impulses running through my body like an F1 racing. I think that's the chakra... Ok, let's move on..
It was later afterward I'm suddenly into my mind, it was dark and black. I called for assistance but there was no response. I couldn't feel any parts of my body.. I was totally sucked into my mind.. But the weird thing is my heart is beating VERY fast like I'm going to have heart attack it was like 5 beats per second it was so damn scary!!! I also heard a screech (high Hz) sound that was annoying..
I thought it all went wrong so I quicky opened my eyes. My heartbeat was so FAST that I was so frightened and shocked.
Is the heartbeat usual? Am I supposed to ignore it and feel the flow so that I would have astral travel tonight?
PLEASE REPLY. THKS!

I dont understand just how you were sucked into your mind. Were conscious (analyzing your feelings) when this happened or were you in a half dream ( a state between normal consciousness and meditative silence) state or something else? Because that would explain a lot.
Also about the heartbeat .. it is annoying if you pay attention to it. Its probably just you getting better at feeling your hearth beat

. ... You just shouldn't have gotten scared .. i mean how many times have you been sucked in by your mind and remain conscious? That's obviously something good

.
PS: I forgot to mention that i was once sucked into my mind too (kinda) , but it wasn't all black like in your experience. It felt like i was "being" inside my head and i felt like my "being" would be spinning , i could "see" the space around me using .. well i dunno i just saw the image in (i cant say head because i didnt have a head).
I awoke after that. Your experience kinda remind me of this. Maybe that's what would have happened if you haven't got scared.

They say keeping eyes open is good since you can practice aura sight too at the same time (only if you pay attention to your sight) but i just cant imagine someone meditating like that lol. Wouldn't your eyes start to hurt badly after some time? And it just takes too much effort.

To astral project you have to get your body sleeping while your consciousness remains awake so your body is actually sleeping ... i guess this kinda explains why its so hard to re-enter the body sometimes.

Hey every one! I've been following this for over a month now and decided to join in because it was so interesting. I just started trying to astral travel, with minimal results each night, but these are the exact feelings I get. Actually, Physics seems to follow my progression almost exactly!
But sometimes when everything gets bigger i like to pretend that my body or my room is spinning. It used to be the weirdest sensation I've ever felt, but with all the vibrations and falling feelings it doesn't seem to compare any more.
My biggest problem is falling asleep before my mind does. I get to the stage where the pulses begin (after20 mins of concentration), but as soon as i recognize them, they stop and I'm hard pressed to get them to start up again. Soon enough i get tired or irritated an droll over and fall asleep.
Am i trying too hard, or not hard enough?

I cant tell how hard you try but all you need to know are the few rules to AP:
1.Relax
2.Don't be afraid
3.Be patient
4.Clear your mind
Usually 3 is the killer .. since if you think "im bored" or "lets get this over quick" your chances of AP decrease significantly.
Also lack of experiences after vivid experiences can be good that's usually a sing of near ap for me! You say that you meditate for 20 minutes , i would meditate for a hour or more and from my experience i can tell you that when you feel a rush for some time and it suddenly stops you will get another experience quick if you keep relaxed and get deeper into your meditation. Just give it some time then it will surely be better.

That's a good question, and one anyone interested in astral projection should ask. As Vilius mentioned above, relaxation is key to projecting. A good way to meditate, or simply relax for that matter, is to simply clear your head of all thoughts. For many this doesn't come easily; I for one took a long time before I had any success. Try lying down, closing your eyes, and relaxing your body physically (there are a number of techniques, systematically clenching, relaxing muscles etc) then simply lose yourself in the black void in front of you. Whenever a thought, a worry, an impulse creeps into your mind, project it outwards and resume the 'blank' state you have created.
You could also 'create' a visualized world in your mind - mine is a river flowing through a forest - and imbue this setting with feelings of relaxation and peace. Whenever you want to meditate, you can simply visit the place in your mind. The more you practice, the better you will become.

Yeah thanks, patients really is my biggest problem. That's probably also why i only get 20 mins of meditation in. But ill keep practicing my meditation, i heard from a friend that the main thing that stops you from successfully meditating is your ego telling you that you should be doing better and all that stuff. i am so interested in this and i spent months thinking about doing it and i started practicing but i didnt continue cos i had no results at all. i reached the vibration stage but that was it. untill yesterday, i appearantlu astral projected accidently as i was sleeping and i think that i didnt happen in the first circle of sleeping cos i remember falling asleep without anything happening. i then suddenly and unintentionally found myself in the vibration stage which was soooo intense and strong, but i wasnt scared of it as somehow i realized that im about to have an OBE but i was afraid that i am shaking in reality and i will scare my fiance if he sees me like this!!!(lool but obviously it was happening only in my mind) after i felt the release finally i was feelng light and free but i didnt see my room details i saw my fiance`s face and heard others talking but thats it. during my first Unplanned OBE i was sooo excited to do lots of things i went to the skies above the clouds and to the ocean and the forest and was flying very quickly and not scared at all(though i am an easily scared person especially when meditating).
after this wonderful gift from god as i was upset of something b4 i sleep and i was in need of a hope, i felt that wonderful feeling of freedom and it really effected me, though i didnt do it intentionally but it made me feel that i really have to go back to reading about it and practicing cos its a wonderful experience..
i wonder if that was normal or if it will happen to me again or not...?????

Very true. Projecting from a dream state is a very effective way to leave your body. While in a dream, often merely the thought of astral projection can induce exit sensations and bring you consciously out of body.

You need to raise your dream awareness if you want to get unexpected AP's. The more aware you are the easier it will be to realize the right moment for AP.

actually u guys when u talk about it u make it seem very easy and (doable) but when it comes to do it, i cant seem to get into any stage except for the light tingling and almost numb-ness. actually i do that when im tierd so that my body will be weak and when i try to get into deep relaxation i cant help myself not to fall asleep!!!! i dont know if it is normal or not especially that i dont meditate or sit for long periods by myself, now what is the key to reach this dream awareness?? actaully i often dream but i dont remember my dreams all the time and even if i remember i fastly forget after i wake up and get back to daily life. what is the first step for me in this to help me do it properly???
thank u for caring ,
You need to relax. Trust me, the minute you stop worrying so much about whether what you are doing is right, you will have an experience. Just go with the flow.

QUOTE (Socrates @ Jan 25 2006, 07:09 PM)

To some of you, the idea of astral travel, (astral projection, OBE) may seem completely insane. It did to me once too. But I decided to try it anyway, and had amazing results.
-
Astral travel has been practised throughout history - and there have been thousands of documented scientific experiements confirming that astral travel is real.
People seek therapy because they 'wake up paralyzed and rigid' (sleep paralysis, a close component of astral travel) 'Wake up and see strange beings around them' (entities found in the astral plane) 'Find themselves floating or vibrating violently, or engulfed in a bright light' (sensations felt as the astral body leaves the physical body) Some people have even gone so far as to say their astral experiences are alien encounters.
-
And, there are those who resent astral travel and/or refuse to beleive it is possible at all. Perhaps for one or more of the following reasons:
1. They beleive that astral experiences are actually dreams. (Wrong. Astral travel is a fully conscious experience, as thousands of people have confirmed worldwide.)
2. They beleive that those who claim to astral travel are under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. (Wrong again. Drugs or Alcohol actually hinder astral travel. Furthermore, most people who astral travel began astral travelling at a very young age - 6 to 12.)
3. They beleive what people describe as an astral experience is actually an alien abduction. (Thrice wrong. Although, waking paralyzed, seeing strange entities, and being engulfed in a blinding white light may be likened to an alien abduction, such symptoms are components of the first stages of astral travel.)
4. They beleive people claim to be able to astral travel for publicity, money, or attention in general. (Indeed, some people may use astral travel for such a purpose, or claim that they are able to astral travel when in actuality they cannot. However, astral travel is an enlightening spiritual experience, and he or she who has astral travelled normally understands the importance of keeping such a controvertial hobby quiet. Furthermore, it is commonly known that if one astral travels for selfish or evil purposes, they are likely to find themselves attracting unpleasant entities.)
5. They beleive astral travel is evil, and a sin unto god. (A misconception. As said above, astral travel is a spiritually enlightening and developing experience, not an evil or sinful one. The bible actually talkes about astral travel on several occasions; it describes people as being "in the spirit" while receiving prophecy. Terminology of astral projection is also found in:
Ecclesiastes 12:6-12:7:
"Remember [your Creator] — before the silver cord is severed,
or the golden bowl is broken;
before the pitcher is shattered at the spring,
or the wheel broken at the well,
and the dust returns to the ground it came from,
and the spirit returns to God who gave it."
The passage is talking about what happens when we die.
The silver cord this passage talks about exists when one projects. It links the physical body to the astral one. Don't worry - It can only be severed if we die in the physical world. The golden bowl refers to the 'crown chakra' the main energy center of the body, used to project. Biblical Scholars attribute these lines to astral projection or the astral body in general.
Those are some of the more common reasons people resent or refuse to beleive astral travel is possible. Hopefully I have cleared up some of the myths associated with this phenomena.

Here is a technique for astral travel. I bluntly call it the '4 in the morning technique' I have tried many methods over the past two years, and this one had the best results. I have written it out in steps. It involves getting up at 4 o'clock in the morning - a little extra effort, but it is by far worth it. The reasons for waking up at 4 in the morning are:
- You will be drowsy and it will be easier to clear your head.
- You will drift off to sleep much faster.
- You will have gotten up for a purpose; your body and mind will be tuned to what you are trying to achieve.
A note to those who are skeptical about astral travel but still wish to try it: You must keep an open mind while attempting to project. Any negative thoughts or feelings will certainly hold you back. Stay positive, open, and willing.
The technique is as follows:
Set your alarm for 4 o'clock in the morning.
Allow yourself to drift asleep.
At four in the morning, the alarm will wake you. Get out of bed turn on the light, and splash water on your face. Dry your face with a towell.
After about two minutes, get back in bed. Lie on your back.
You will most likely be feeling groggy and tired. Your mind will be eager to get back to sleep.
Close your eyes, and clear your mind. This should be easy because you are so tired.
Now, imagine you are standing somewhere in your room. Perhaps in the far corner. Vividly see yourself standing there. Know that you are standing there, and that your body is still lying on the bed. Focus your whole mind on this concept.
While working on that, begin a simple affirmation in your head. "I am going to astral travel. I am going to leave my body." Say it in your head, over and over, while imagining you are on the other side of the room.
While you are doing this, you will begin to drift back to sleep. Slowly, your mind will begin to cloud. Make sure that the concept of standing elsewhere in your room is the last thing that goes through your mind before you are asleep.
You may experience one or more of the following sensations:
- Floating
- Sinking
- Vibrations
- A bright white/blue light
- A rushing or popping sound
- Starnge noises; someone calling your name
- A jolt
If you experience one or more of these sensations for the first time, it may be frightening. But know that they are positive signs; signs that let you know you're about to project.
Almost always, apon feeling a strange sensation, the person trying to project gets such a fright that he/she is jolted back into their body. If this happens to you, allow yourself to fall asleep and try again the next night, knowing presently that there is nothing to fear.
If you find yourself outside your body, do not stay out for too long the first time. Float about your room, become used to the physics of the astral plane, and then will yourself back into your body. You can start exploring after a 24 hour break. There may be a guide waiting for you. This guide will watch over you and take you where you please. Talk briefly with the guide, and say you will project again in 24 hours.
When 24 hours pass, you will be ready to explore and venture further than your room. You may not even have to use drifting off to sleep as a medium for astral travel.
If, after several attempts, you still have not projected, do not be detered. It is likely you will have felt some of the sensations above while trying, and this is a positive sign. You must remember that it is a matter of willpower. You can't just casually attempt to project in a one-off scenario. Think about astral travel throughout the day. Buy a book on astral travel. Attempt to astral travel everynight. Eventually, I gurantee, you will get out.
-
That's all I have time for at the moment. If you have any questions about the technique I listed, or about astral travel or the astral plane, send me a PM. I will be happy to help.
So, when you're doing this, is it possible to see loved ones who have passed on the other side?

well the whole experience was positive and i was sure during it thats its a projection though i didnt project intentionally but i think it was a quencedence where somehow i was consious while im a sleep. i dont know it its a Lucid Dream or AP but it was totallt new to me. and i dont know how to do it again, im fraid it wont happen again!!
If you didnt actually leave your body then it doesn't count as an AP. Anyways you still had something happen and i in you case would treat it like a sing and start practicing

. Then it will surely happen again.

Yeah i heard its possible.

Yesterday i had a really cool experience when i meditated.
I started meditating with one want to astrally project. I started meditating and soon i felt the vibes , floating , blue lights you know the usual. After some time the tv distracted me as it had a funny show on. I felt like all these feelings are fading away - so i told to myself "i will not think until projection" and the i proceeded to concentrate on that very hard. After some time i felt at a brink of AP
then something snapped in me. For some reason i thought about God and the connections i have with him. A feeling of love and purpose filled me and i understood the purpose of meditations: To please our creator not to have AP. I awoke with a deep numbness near my hearth .. this kinda made my day (evening).

That's a really cool experience. I have never considered thinking about God or the divine while projecting. From the experience you had it sounds like a great thing to try. My vibes have changed. Instead of a numbness, a cold 'unfeeling' now comes over me, strongest in the legs. I feel it may be because my consciousness is so detached from my physical body that I simply can't feel physical sensation any more. Interesting.

Thanks Ziggy.
These vibes sound interesting especially that you feel it strongest in your legs. That's usually the place i start to feel vibes in earliest and the vibes there are strongest. Anyways i wanted to ask you when do you actually start feeling the vibes?

They can come almost instantly. Lying in bed or in a sitting position, I generally imagine the physical sensation associated with leaving ones body (though it's more than imagining, I sort of induce the feeling.) This brings about vibes which always begin in my feet, spread up my legs. Arms and chest come later. As I get deeper and deeper into the state, the vibrations become faster, and the 'numbness' ensues. As I'm sitting here, I can induce the feeling just by imagining moving out of my body. Practise improves this, I think.

When the vibes happens, than our body sleeps? Vibes are not too strong to wake up, it's not scary?
This week I had 2 lucid dreams. In first one i did nothing interesting, couse some guys tried to hit me, and i said them: LOL, i feel nothing, couse I know i'm dreaming and i can do and feel whatever i want. They beated me but i felt nothing but blood was everywhere from me.
2nd lucid dream was more skilled. I remember room (not my room)... i stayed there and suddenly i relised i'm dreaming. At the moment i tried to think about light room without any object (i don't know why... seems, that you can't actually think logical, if you're not already skilled on lucid), but i couldn't ... Room shaked little bit and glistened with white and black lights, but without results, so i started to fly (again, i don't know why). Actually, flying wasn't easy. I started to fly very fast, so i scared little bit and tried to slow down speed, but when i did it, than i flowed down very slowly, so i used my hands to swim up. I was flying to my room, but than i saw my friend and he screamed: OMG, how you can do it? And that was damn bad, couse at the moment i really scared, couse i thught: O, damn... he saw me flyin', he'll tell it to others and i'll be in problems.
When i was younger i had lucid dreams allmoust every day. But yesterday, when i went sleep i thougt about them - i said to myself: Tonight i'll know that i'm dreaming, i will be in my dream and I will try to transfrom myself from lucid dream to Ap.
I have some ideas about how to do it when i'm dreaming, and i feel my progress. I'm waiting new results.

Let me just say that the only time I even had any sensation was when I was trying to fall asleep. Don't think about projecting. I mean, you may have to wait a few months for the smallest hint of anything... *COUGHthatsmystoryCOUGH*
Anyway, I just don't know what to do anymore. I know to meditate. I know that I have to be relaxed, but when there's so many things I want to do on the astral plane, I can't relax. Ugh, any more tips?

Davis - Vibes are said to be energy you feel when you are aware enough. Whether its scary or not depends on yourself

.
Samz - Give it some time with practice you will get better also stop dreaming about your "soon to have power" and that will surely help.
