Hopefully, the Congo expedition will uncover what the Mokele Mbembe really is, other than that I'm just hoping for some new nifty photos coming up, like the ones of the giant squid last year.

i think they might capture it on film, but i think they will catch bigfoot this year or the jungle yeti.

Let's not forget the gray carnivorous apes from the Congo. They'd make for some cool documentaries.
Oh, and the 'Bloop' marine cryptid. That would be awesome, too.

I hope they will find some form of cloneable DNA to make little minature dragons like in that Harry Potter movie. Then give one to everyone in the world as a pet and to catch house flys during the summer. I can hope can't I?

Though not a cryptid persay I vote for finding that Megladon still alive. Especially now that we have the japanese video posted in 2005 of the giant squid. Would find it rather ironic that 2 spielburg films would make fantasy and then have it come as fact. The first was the huge velociraptors of Jurrassic Park and towards the end of production of that film they found the Utah Raptor which was really that big. Go Jaws Go! Then I would have a rational reason to stay out of the water other then the giant rubber shark.

Megalodons, as a form of shark, are therefore fish and have gills.

I believe the crypto community will make similar discoveries to the ones they find every year, new Moths, insects, scorpions, the odd Mammal etc..
I would like to think bigfoot and some of the others go undiscovered for some time, I would hate to see the discovery of Bigfoot and then all the private collectors start taking to the woods for their piece of the action.

I reckon the Orang Pendek this year.
Isn't there another expedition to the Gobi for the Death Worm planned this year? Last time I am pretty sure they came home with a new horned snake. Probably find someting poking around in the abandoned wells and other holes in the ground there.
Ohh, and (sarcastically), Araday Simkin is expected back soon is he not? Should be a giant Rhino, fish or human there

Cryptologists have never found an unknown animal, therefore judging by their records no cryptologist will find anything this year. Scientists will discover several species of insects, amphibians, fishes etc.

Ah i can't wait to prove you wrong with a news story and AHAH the Komodo Dragon was a Crypid along with the Panda and Gorillia
Shai_Hulud
Feb 1 2006, 05:25 AM
The discovery of the gorillas, pandas and the Komodo dragons were relatively easier compared with the efforts to prove loch ness monsters, chupacabra and others. Besides, it isn't everyday that a large animal is discovered, not discounting the possibilities.
Bigfoot_Is_Real
Feb 1 2006, 05:56 AM
Actually it took the Komaodo Dragon 200 years the Panda 150yrs and the Gorillia 300yrs ( nI think those are the numbers ) and they all were Legends before that

Very well worded that, you leave out the searching for believed extinct species, finding them and changing their status to endangered. Yes lowly Cryptozoologists have done that, right up to last year

and
Okapi, Megamouth, Giant Squid, Vu Quang ox and recently a new mammal in Borneo.
I think you are way out. There are other large animals to find, consider the Congo and the Ocean for two rescources. Do you really think we know all (anything) about those inhospitable places? Bah, no way.
M8 - you just wait till the Bloop surfaces, or in another few months, I will be around your place with a Mokele-mbembe burger!!!

Insects but to be fair, they are small, fast developing and really not quite as impressive looking as a megamouth shark!

Well, I'm kinda hoping for mokele mbebe! but also that video of something the japs toke in the mariana trench last year... They haven't releast it yet - have they? and i hope that the "Blop" will be identified.
But the most realistic thing is just what scientists always comes up with: insects, smaller animals and fishes...

Well, extinct animals aren't technically cryptids, but I have a wish list.....I wish the following critters were discovered to be atill alive...somewhere, some way.
Liopleurodon

How cool would it be to find out this was the 'Bloop' everyone's talking about?
Megalodon....(cues the theme to Jaws)

The Moa.....

Thylacine....

Mokele-Mbembe would be a cracker wouldn't it

Were you refering to this story :-
Suspected Sleepy SharkAny more news on it?
Unless you meant this beastie

But from memory that was not the mariana trench, not sure what happened to that, last story I heard it was a rag toothed shark, I did not think it looked like one. Seem to have lost my pic of a rag toothed shark - anyone got one?
Anybody know what happened to this strange looking shark?

QUOTE
Japanese scientists have recently conducted a curious experiment in the Pacific Ocean not far from the Mariana Trench, the deepest trench in the world. They put a container with an odorous lure on the seafloor. The container was outfitted with a video camera. The smell of the lure attracted deepwater sharks. The next minute the sharks dispersed and the Japanese scientists saw a giant monster. The huge animal was slowly swimming above the camera at the depth of 1.5 kilometers, its body was 60 meters long. Scientists still do not know what kind of animal it was, they were only left to guess and suppose. Probably, it was a giant sleepy shark that live at the depth of the ocean - people know very little about them. No one has seen a living giant sleepy shark yet. A dead body of a shark was once washed ashore in Indonesia in 1964. Apparently, it was not a grown-up fish, because it was 26 meters long.
Yeah! that's what I meant! anyone heard more from it?
that strange looking shark were caught in Turkey, but it's an already known shark, so no surprise there...

say it is an already know shark, does not look anything like a Big Eye Ragtoothed Shark IMO.
