Is it possible for humans to detect Demonic Energy or a Presence in an area??.
Shiggity Shiggity Shwa 2
i guess so....but like....what do you think would happen for you to think theres a presence???
EDW74
The most commonly reported phenomenon associated with demonic presences are;

Foul smells/odors, with no explainable cause.
Decrease in room/area temperature (possibly psychosomatic, but possibly measurable)
Scratching sounds, of indeterminate origins
Persistent nightmares
Insomnia, with no medical or logical cause.
Sudden, violent manifestations i.e. Things flying off of shelves, items spontaneously breaking.
General feelings of terror for no apparent reason in the affected area.

I believe that demonic forces exist and that, they can be detected by people, the problem here lies in determining the difference between demonic presence and mental illness/logical rational causes for the afore mentioned phenoms.

I've written a column, in the columns section of the website on demonic activity, you may find it informative.

I'm curious what makes you ask this? Could you elaborate and indicate what it is precisely that you're asking and why?
EDW74
Again, I concur with JP ((mumbles)) as much as I hate to admit it. Why this question, from where does it come?

I can vouch for the terrible smell--hard to describe, kinda like garbage, kinda like death, definitely rotting something--maybe rotting flowers and excrement? And the recurring nightmares, particularly nightmares of extreme sexual abuse and physical violence and angelic and demonic creatures trying to communicate with the dreamer. Angels trying to communicate to the dreamer, but the dreamer unable to hear or understand has come up several times. Also, I have commonly experienced what I can best describe as "a sense of profound evil;" for me that's the main indicator of "demonic presence." It's a kind of emotion, a feeling of profound wrong; the kind of thing that slows you way down and gets you thinking, "there is something...really...really...really wrong here;" cue the ultra creepy music kind of thing.

Hey, Ed, you're the first person I've read who has connected "cold spots" with demonic activity. My reading merely associates it with spirit activity. I've experienced cold spots plenty of times, but only once did I experience them in a location I'd say was under particularly demonic influence. And as I've mentioned in another thread, in that house I also experienced a "hot spot;" I stepped close to a boarded up door to a walled off part of the attic and felt a sudden heat like standing next to a furnace except that the heat didn't seem to be coming from any particular direction, but emanating from the air itself. Yikes!

Not to argue the point, but in my few occasions wherein I believe there were demonic forces at work, I perceived not just cold spots, but a general temperature shift in the area of effect. Not, as in it's cold right here, but more of a "man it got cold in this place/room/house", type of thing. It may have been psychosomatic in nature, but I wasn't the only one to experience it. It was one of those situations where I was thinking it as someone said it. As we've discussed previously, I'm not saying that "hot spots" aren't a factor, I've just never experienced one, so I don't tend to include it in my assessments, but I am on the look out for one since you mentioned it last time. huh.gif
HKCavalier
Ah, ED, yes, that resonates. "The whole room just got a hell of a lot colder." Yes. I've experienced that kind of thing, but not everyone I was with experienced it each time. I eventually accepted it as my body's reaction to the demonic presence, kind of like the way a person's body temperature can fall when their immune system is under attack, or how your teeth can start chattering when you're really scared. In my experience, cold spots sometimes involve my breath forming little clouds like on a really cold day, the air seems to get quite literally colder, but the general feeling that I'm talking about here is subjective and never reflects an external change of temperature, just my sensitivity (and the sensitivity to some but not all of the other witnesses) to it.

trust me, it's definetly possible. and it happens. a lot. and don't believe people who say that there aren't any demons on the physical plane. there are many, they're just choosey who they show themselves to.

Ive been having a lot of these and sometimes it feels like something grabs my leg or I jus get dizzy and too weak to stand sometimes. I also see a shadow following me, black snakes moving around next to me and people walking by and suddenly dissapearing. Could this be something?
jpatt
Although rare, black snakes and rats and other animals are reported and usually lumped into the "Shadow People" category.

not to be mean but it could mean that it's time to go see a Dr. before taking any other steps. most investigators, will require a visit to a few different Docs before continuing an investigation.

Check... Check... Check... Damn this means my ex husband is actually a demon w00t.gif
spiritplusfaith
Yes it is possible. It is one of the spiritual gifts that God speaks of int he book of Acts. I have the ability to feel demonic presence and the ability to feel holy presence. The demonic presence in my experience is a heavy pressure. I feel this more around individuals then areas, but I have only begun to learn about my gift.

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience[/color]

I think people can feel a presence. They can feel a ghosts presence. yes.gif

Charmed Fan, a demonic presence usually has a feeling connected to it that makes it appear as nothing but evil and demonic, it's so evil it can't hide it.

Ed's right, but there is so much to a demonic presence you only think of evil as your first thought when you come across it.

The devil appears to us as a physical beauty, he can make us see what he wants us to see, but the catch is that he and his minions are 100% evil, and if you see the error in Satan's attempts with his physical appeal, the true look is horrid and ugly, because it is in fact evil.

I remember one time browsing on a Satanist site and I looked upon this strange drawing of a ghost, it wasn't scary but I felt something was wrong with it (besides the fact it represented Satanism) well the next minute I recall hearing a scratching sound on the wall, it didn't sound like something from outside my room was brushing against the brick wall (which would have been virtually impossible, no plant of any kind can reach up to the second story of my house) and ironically when I looked at where the sound was coming from the sound kept coming back, even in absolute silence, it was almost like teasing me with the fear and thought that it could have been a supernatural attempt to criple my mentality, a couple of times I read some scripture quietly to myself and the sound stopped and has never bothered me since.

But who knows, I am by no means considering my experience in that of an experienced position, the main point is that everyone can sense it because it is so dark, the element of it all is overwhelming and there is no need to question the fact.
