Hello ! i have the awsome PSP which can view photo's, listen to music , watch video's and can play the best games. Now a bunch of DS guys i know say that the DS is better, what do you think ? a Large screen or 2 lil screens??

O and did i menchen it can go on the internet ?

Obviously you are completely biased towards the PSP and no matter what argument others provide you will believe the PSP is better. Thats fine but rather ignorant. Both handheld consoles have their good points and bad points. And of course each person has their own preference towards video-gaming and will choose what they like whether its good or not. These types of video-game topics always degenerate into arguments with either side flinging obscene comments and resorting to immature name calling.

^If you are going to make such statements you should first do so some research there buddy. It`s rather obvious you are unaware that the DS has sold far more units than the PSP and when it comes to software sales the DS is miles ahead. In Japan the DS has become the fastest selling console in history. The PSP has also sold greatly but its still behind the DS. Its lackluster games library full of PS2 game ports is turning away many potential owners. Its multimedia functions are what are getting the sales at the moment. UMD movies are selling more than PSP games.
GTA:Liberty stories which is a showcase PSP game is going to be released on the PS2 which begs the questions why would you buy it to play it on a tiny screen with inferior graphics and probably less content than the PS2 version?
The DS on the other hand doesn`t have the graphics or multimedia functions of the PSP but it does innovate, It allows you to play games in a new and different way. It is also just meant to be a games machine and isn`t really in the same market as the PSP which is more of a multimedia machine than a gaming machine.
Again it comes down to your preference when it comes to gaming and when people come out bagging the DS or PSP merely because they dont like it, it removes any intelligence or validity from their argument.

Both fantastic, but I am just going with the PSP. I have played it more times and they are just great.

I have played neither, so I have hardly an experienced opinion, but from what I know, DS seems much better.

My friends have played both, and some of them even sold their PSPs to grab a DS.
They say it wins by far.

Typical answer by an owner of a sony console, that's why I prefer to discuss with nintendo fans than with others, they know how to spell, they are usually more open minded and when someone says that they prefer other console they don't say: "OMG GAYZ0R, STFU U NOOB FAG" ahem, excuse me, I am not very familiarized with the noob language, lol.

I don't think one is really better than the other, they're just different. I like the DS, because it has a lot of games that you can play for five minutes, and then put down.

UMD movies sell much better than PSP games, so that would mean that many people who have PSPs watch movies more than play games. Why I find this strange, is because you could get a DVD player for $100 that has a decent sized screen, can play DVDs you already have and longer battery life. True, you can slip a PSP into your pocket but I would rather just get a portable DVD player.

I'll probably get one when Gran Tuirismo Mobile or a Final Fantasy game comes out.




The errors burn my eyes!!!!! Actually, the reason the DS is doing better than the PSP is because they have attracted a lot of new gamers. Not just new customers, but people who are new to gaming althogether.

lol then that proves my point ! im not trying to make people angry, but it is true. Im not saying PSP is doing better or this or that but that it much stronger and much more powerfull, sorry for any misunderstandings.

So what you meant here was that the PSP was more powerful in terms of processing power, could display greater graphics while also giving you more multimedia functions than the DS. Next time instead of attacking Nintendo, its consoles, games and gamers just say what you mean. Then your argument can be taken seriously.

Exactly, there's no point in slandering users of either console, in order for an opinion to be even noted let alone regarded one should just say what they mean in terms of the true technological capabilities of such handhelds and the general publics preference in consoles (i.e console sales), forums with topics such as this are for intelligent conversations, not for immature and to be quite honest, laughable ralleys of 'psp rules, ds suxxorz' or 'ds rulz psp suxxors'. It's just stupid...

As for the actual topic, check the sales of the DS with the sales of the PSP and I think you'll get your answer there...

Sorry, I should had said typical answer by most of sony fanboys (I wouldn't mind own a sony console [but not the handheld one, of course], but don't got money to spend in more than one console). I heard of Sega CD, but never saw one... that reminds me of the good times when sega was still in the console business (ok, they still make games, but wouldn't be great to see sega come back in full power?? sorry, I am dreaming too much here...)

DS! becuz of the dule screens & backwards capable thing. psp is too fragil. although I do like how you can store mp3s on it.

DS, Nintendo systems have always apealed to me...

I have both systems, but the PSP totally pwns the DS! It has so many capabilities that the DS doesn't have.

^The PSP does indeed have far more mulitmedia options than the DS but when it comes down to gaming it is severly lacking. The majority of its games are just ports of PS2 games and their showcase title GTA: Liberty City stories is going to be released on PS2.

Both consoles appeal to different people of different gaming and entertainment preferences. If you wish to play a movie or listen to music then the PSP is the way to go if you wish to play quality, innovative and enjoyable games the DS is the way to go.

GAMES: Innovative...FUN!! -> DS

GAMES: Graphics + MP3's, Movies, Photos -> PSP

Its as simple as that.

I vote psp I like the fact you can watch movies and listen to music as well as games.
Btw i really like the touch screen.

I chose the DS because of it's awsome games.

PSP is good for media and such, although I really don't enjoy browsing the web with those controlls.

Like I've said before: DS is better, in gaming standards.

Why don't I like the PSP? I don't feel like picking up a $200 gaming console to find that it's focused around media.
If I want media, I'll go and buy myself a decent MP3/MP4 Player.

I have not had the chance to lay on the DS.

But I own a PSP, and the gaming is amazing. Not to mention my 1G of storage, and being able to buy movies to watch on it. Plus I link up via the games Bluetooth technology to play Battlefront II and GTA Liberty City with my friend. It is like a small computer with the things it is capable of.

And its looks are to die for...

^Doubtful the DS is pretty sturdy and I have accidentally dropped mine onto a hard wooden floor a couple of times with barely a scartch resulting. The original DS may not look pretty but it is tough. The DS Lite does look a little more fragile though like the PSP.

.....now that i look back i dont see why we argueeing they are doing about the same 14 mill sales for ds and 7 mill for psp and psp sells double the cost so its the same.

Its actually a bit closer than that in hardware sales. The DS had sold over 15 million the last time I checked and I`m pretty certain the PSP has passed 10 million.

i c !, o and my poor poor fiend yesterday was heart broken when i showed him my PSP because he was like , "omg this ROCKS !! i cant belive i wasted my money and that DS, aawww sh**, it really is better" NOTE : that was my friend in no way did i menchaine that to make the PSP look good, i was merely saying what happend. Ah yes I have discovered that of late when researching sales figures for both the DS and PSP. Nintendo actually give you sales figures while Sony generally only release shipped figures while not actually saying whether they are sales figures or numbers shipped.
