How can you have a ghost town?

Does it mean it as in, a town that randomly appears, or a deserted town? Wouldn't SOMEONE go there?

the desert has many caves and mines.also it was a pass for prospectors,munks,outlaws,indians,u.f.o.phenomena,underground lost cities, and many other misteries their are alot of abandoned dreams out here,just one area i know about is a small town of abandoned ranches this one was found and vandalised their are so many hidden spots with in the mountains their is allways a treasure from weird to amsed, some examples people find are old lanterns bags of coins burried cars (clasics),old amunition and weapons, people back in the day pass through here and left their mark , as for the ghost, alot of places are hounted,their are indian burrial grounds murders ,massacres and battle spots,people getting trapped in the caves thats what im talking about
