IF YOU DON'T SIGN THIS THEN YOU ARE SICK! This is so terrible. A site that we were able to shut last year has returned. We have to try to shut it down again! (www.bonsaikitten.com) A Japanese man in New York breeds and sells kittens that are called BONSAI CATS. That would sound cute, if it weren't kittens that were put in to little bottles after being given a muscle relaxant and then locked up for The rest of their lives! The cats are fed through a straw and have a small tube for their Faces. The skeleton of the cat will take on the form of the bottle as the kitten grows. The cats never get the opportunity to move. They are used as original and exclusive souvenirs. These are the latest trends in New York, China, Indonesia and New Zealand. If you think you can handle it, view www.bonsaikitten.com and have a look at th methods being used to put these little kittens into bottles*

The kittens were not harmed in any way. The photos are just of kittens who jumped into the containers of their own accord, as kittens, and even adult cats will do. They were in the containers for a very short period of time. The only evil thing about this it that people think it's real. Of course, knowing the sick things that some people REALLY do do to animals makes this almost believable. I agree, it's not in the best of taste, but totally NOT TRUE.

Sadly true. I know the website was made as a kind of joke to see how many people would believe it; but to me it's a very irresponsible thing to do. I first saw that site about 5 years ago (might have been a bit less, but it was quite a while ago) and now I won't even click the link, I find it that disturbing. I can't understand why it's not been shut down, ok I know none of it is real, but if I worked in animal protection I'd try my best to get it removed for the simple reason of preventing any fool trying it...

Well, there's worse. Where Asian woman stamp on kittens with high heels until they die. If you want to see it, then i'll post, but not until the thread gets a warning about the video then i will.
Abit off-topic but i also have a horrible video where men beat these animals to death and hit them with sticks, then they chop them up in peices slowly, even if their awake, it's so brutal, very disturbing and then take off their skin for the fur.

Lots of things get dissected, and theres really not a whole lot people can do about it. It's gonna keep happening no matter what, and that whole fake bonsai kitten thing, I thought that was funny, because it was obviously a fake website, I saw it a couple of years ago and it was hilarious because I thought the pics of the kittens were funny.
I dissected a shark once, and a squid, and a fetal pig, I wasn't too upset about, because they were already dea, and if I didn't dissect them, someone else was going to, its not like you can save a kitten by not dissecting it, it's already dead.

There are laws against cruelty to animals. I'm not a lawyer but I think kitty in a bottle would certainly qualify. So if anyone is thinking it would be a fun science project they should re-think it.
As far as those torture videos I don't judge why people would want to view them but that type of imagery can cause psychological damage. The short description is horrific beyond anything most people will ever see.

You seem to be overlooking the fact that the bottle kitties are FAKE, nobody does that, nobody sells bottle kitties, possibly only because of the fact that no one would buy them, but still, its a false website, no one seems to be recognizing that. This website shows up every couple years, the media gets a hold of it, theres a wildfire of stuff about, then they hunt down the guy who made it, assure everyone its fake, and then no one hears about it until some teenager finds it again and sends it to all their friends.

It's been established that it's fake but some people were concerned that others might try some do-it-yourself thing anyway. Which is most probably illegal. And I agree we'll see a similar thing again in a year or two.

That's why I refused to take Biology 2, they dissected cats that they got from the local animal shelter. I found that completely cruel. For bio 1 we dissected fetal pigs, but they were taken from adult pigs that were going to be slaughtered. That alone made me not want to eat meat again. . .as for the cats, I just think all of that is horrible. . .think, in ancient egypt, they would have been killed for killing a cat. . .
And it's not the fact that they are dissecting a dead animal. . .it's the way that they got the animal. I really don't agree with animals being put to sleep, and that's where the cats came from. Cats that had been put to sleep. Kids were throwing them around the room and playing around with them. It was awful. They didn't seem to think about the fact that the animal they were throwing around may have once been someone's pet that had wandered off. . . that that animal may have been someone's best friend and circumstances made them give it up. . .and that when no one else wanted it, it got killed.
I think a good solution to the stray problem would be to catch them, fix them, and release them. Not catch them, keep them, and then kill them. That's just wrong. Who are we to say when a certain species is overpopulating? Who are we, as humans, to judge when populations get out of hand? Aren't we overpopulating the world? Are we gonna start catching homeless people and "putting them to sleep" and dissecting them? I, as an animal lover, just can not understand the reasoning behind killing animals unless it is for food. . .or if the animal attacks you and you have to defend yourself.

I would think if certain things were real, then the site could be removed for it...? I mean, that'd be a good way to inform internet cops about unlawful behavior and get creeps put away; of course, if the behavior is for real.
