This one required a lot of thinking. I'll go ahead and say I have to watch any Japanese anime. I got the idea from my grandmother. She believes that the Japanese are trying to weaken the US with video games and anime. As far as I am concerned, let them. They would probably do a better job governing. Anyway here is my point. If you have watched the cartoon -I'm guessing that you have not- It is about a nation overthrowing the other nations. Each of the nations are represented by a zodiac element and have their own culture and race. I think it could be a possible warning from the Japanese.

Here are the nations and my thoughts about them. I think the similarities are kind of wierd.

Fire Nation-Race:Japanese-Represented by fire because they are spreading and destroying everything like fire.-Real life connection: The Japanese are taking over the US by attacking it from the inside.

Water Tribe-Race:Native American-Represented by water because they are dieing out like water running down a drain.-Real life connection: The Native Americans are Dieing out.

Earth Kingdom-Race:Arab-Represented by earth because they are staying where they are and not moving backwards or forwards territorially.-Real life connection: The Arabs are not really gaining more territory or power despite their efforts.

Air Benders-Race:American-Represented by air because they have their heads in the clouds and are eventually wiped out by the fire nation.-Real life connection: Americans don't really suspect an attack from Japan; Especially not through video games.

So, what do you think? Are these warnings or just an innocent cartoon?

i think it probably does not have any connection whatsoever. if the japanese WERE planning something against us, why would they give it away in a video game? and furthermore, why would the people making the video game have knowledge like this? i don't think that george bush consults makers of playstation 2 games about his every move...
Saint Macabre
I don't think so...I thought avatar, although made like anime, is an American show...with a Chinese-like basis

yes...I watch it wink2.gif I like anime too...

All you have to look at how basicaly the best anime out there[i watch a sh** load of anime aswell, the metropolis remake was f***ing amazing] is usually set in some moraly bankrupt near or far future where goverments cease to have existed, the U.N is the only military and every nations is run by Corporation ruled sectors. Theve been trying to hint this to us, this is where were headed and weve skirting dangerously close to it for a while now.
Civilization
I do remember Bush speaking out against anime about a year ago. Personally, I find that animation style extremely dull and boring, and cannot stand watching it for over a minute.
