About 3 times a week at around three a.m. (I know there is some controversy over the whole 3 am thing) My door knob twists and my door opens. Not all the way, not even half the way but to where its cracked. I haven't been getting to bed before 3 a.m. and I often get depressed for no appearant reason. I have heard that some ghosts can cause depression. Also, Last night I was laying in my bed and I thought I heard footsteps in the middle of my room. They went away after a while but it sounded like pacing. Will someone tell me what I should do. I am not really scared, just kind of spooked/curious. Should I try to contact it by EVP or video, or should I just leave it alone. Also my sister said that she woke up and saw her cat choking (this was a 5 am) All four legs in the air like she (the cat) was being strangled, when my sister started towards her cat, she said she heard a woman's vioce say WHAT. That scared the crap out of her. I just need to know if we are just letting our imaginations get ahead of us or if we have a presance (sp) in our house. Please help me with what to do.

i think you should try EVP or just let it go...and if the EVP doesnt work..then try gettin to bed earlier than 3....and see if you wake up at 3 by the noise of the door opening or something...and try EVP in your sisters room too
Ghost_Boy
I do go to bed before 3 sometimes and I do wake up at or around 3

GhostBoy, if it's not scaring you too badly then the best thing to do is remain calm. Panic will only make what's happening seem worse. EVP isn't such a bad idea; but don't be disappointed if you don't pick anything up the first time. You mention you get depressed from time to time, have you told your family about this? Keep them informed about everything - the strange happenings and also your depression. Family support is the best thing you could have right now. Also; remember sleep deprivation can actually cause hallucinations. I'm not saying it's all in your head - just keep an open mind and look at all possibilities, not just paranormal ones. Try relaxation methods to try and get to sleep at an earlier time. Relaxation Methods aimed at a good night sleep Have a look at that link, it lists a few different methods thumbsup.gif

Is this affecting your sister badly? Seeing a pet choking can be quite traumatic. Reassure her that cats do cough up hairballs from time to time, I've seen one of mine cough one up on it's back. Remind her it could have been a co-incidence that the cat was choking at the same time she heard the voice, even if to help her stay calm.

Remember; if you and your sister are teens this could even be a form of poltergeist activity. There are many different theories about this, but the one I feel is most plausible is that poltergeist activity is a form of telekenisis, unconciously brought on by stress/hormones.

Similar thing happened to me except every time I went to sleep y closet door would open. This happened in my grandmother’s house it never opened in the day. Every single night without fail it would open and wake me up, id get up close it then after a while It would open again.
Its weird but i dont have a clue what it was.

Is it just me or is 3 am the time for ghosts to come out? Most people who post that say they wake up to ghostly sounds or to a ghost say they wake up at 3 am.

Yikes. Thats creepy.

The warrens said 3:00 am is a paranomal time aswell.
Joke_Master_Mandy
Yeesh. That is creepy. There's definately something fishy about the whole 3 A.M thing. I'm not sensitive to paranormal activity at all and I do wake up around 3 A.M a lot for some reason. Yes, cats do choke on hairballs a lot but the womans voice is what I would be worried about. As for the door opening, doors in my house sopen randomly sometimes due to wind and not closing them all the way, but you say the knob actually turns? Definately worth looking into. Keep us posted if you find anything.

ghostboy, could it be your cat? one of my two cats knows how to open the door, and she scared the crap out of me on couple of ocassions. for example, i was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and watching in the mirror, when the door opened behined me. i couldn't see the bottom of the door because the mirror isn't that big, but when i turned i saw my cat proceed to her potty grin2.gif

When I had a dog we locked him in the laundry room and left. He got out and ate everything in the house. Then the garage.

Nope I guess its a unexplained my mystery .

We had to leave. He would of tore up the house(which he did) if we did not lock him up. We felt locking him in a room was less cruel than a small crate.

Different, perhaps if you have nothing to add to a topic it is best to remain quiet. Please stop with the ongoing antics of you and your dog, as this is not Oprah or some chat show about animals and their habits.

Please stop with your current line of posting. Thankyou.

Sorry. Ghosts right? Oh yeah. Have you tried calling out to the spirits?

Maybe that's the time the cat decides it wants company?

Our cats "knock" on the front door when they want to come in. Freaked us out the first few times it happened. I also had a cat previously who jumped at door handles and swung on them to open the door. Oh and every single cat I've had will widdle in the bath if they can't get outside or down the cellar to their litter tray. Much easier to clean a bath than a carpet thumbsup.gif

Never underestimate the intelligence of cats... happy.gif

I hope it doesn't strangle your cat to death!!! no.gif

Anyway I'm sending over Sergeant Major Katnip & Corporal Kitty Litter for your cats protection! gunsmilie.gif ph34r.gif gunsmilie.gif

My cat can't open doors and my door has one of those child proof knobs you put over the knob so kids cant get in because my mom has a home daycare. My niece says that she talks to a nice lady all the time. At my house. Anyway I have been checking into it and have found nothing so far. I even taped my self asking the questions cause a guy said he did that and the ghost didnt answer but he could see the ghost on video. Anyway, Is it possible to see orbs without a camera, with the naked eye i thought i saw one

My friend was on vacation and asked me to hold his cat for a week. Im trying to use the bathroom and the door opens. I also have a turtle. He tryed running into the crack in the door so I couldnt close it. The cat came in and sat there watching me. I was allergic to it too...My eyes burned for three days.
