Man shocked to find corpse on settee

A Swiss man returned home from his holiday to find a dead body in his living room.

Johann Rauber, from Muenchenbuchsee, called the police when he found the as yet unidentified corpse lying on his couch.

He said: "Whenever you go away for a couple of weeks, you always return home expecting to find that something has gone off, but it's usually a lump of cheese or slice of bread, not a dead body."

A spokesman for the Berne police said the dead man had passed away a few days earlier but it was not clear how or why he entered Rauber's flat.

What's a "settee", anyway? Judging from context clues (how fourth grade, I know), I'm going to guess it means "sofa" or "couch" (I can't tell the difference).

Yup sofa/couch is the same thing thumbsup.gif

It was probably someone who was having issues and accidently opened the wrong door. In his confusion he didn't realize he was in the wrong place, and quietly died on the couch.

I would like to know if the dead guy is young or old. Sad enough to say, if it was an elderly gentleman, I would guess an althimers patient. my grandma has that now, and her wandering off if one of our biggest fears. If it was a young guy, well, I'd want to know if there was drugs in his system
