Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and newcomer daniel craig. all of these actors share one specific trait and as the title of the thread's poll suggests, its their portrayal of flemmings james bond.
numerous bond related polls have popped up all over UM, and I've searched thoroughly, yet I haven't found any comparing the actors themselves. as such, I have done so.
perhaps it is only me, I am the only person on earth who argues with friends over who was the best of the bonds, (connery imo) but if not, feel free to vote and state your opinion. you might say it's unfair to include craig as an option, we haven't even seen his portrayal yet, he could be the best or the worst. I just wanted a complete list, and as such included this newcomer. we've seen him in other films, and can use them and his acting talents to formulate a conclusion. or, if youre really upset about it, don't vote for him. thumbsup.gif
I consider truth to the book series, as well as charisma and character appeal in order to determine a true winner. well, have at 'er!

Sean Connery is soooo dreamy.... wub.gif
Glacies
I wouldn't say dreamy, but he's certainly got something going for him, jessica alba has said she has a huge thing for him...what woman doesnt though?

Sean Connery . . . thumbsup.gif

Roger Moore

Sean Connery....hands down....no comparison... happy.gif
BurnSide
Yup, while Moore falls a close second, Connery takes the bond lady.

Maybe it's because I grew up with Sean Connery being 007 that I'm biased, but hey I almost felt the same way when Roger Moore left. After that, forget it, I begged for an encore by either one of the aforementioned 007's.
Yelekiah
Sean Connery.

Myself, I grew up with RM as bond and saw him as the "original?" bond. (showing yer age Triniant! yes.gif ). Therefore when I saw the SC bonds, they seemed oddly wrong.
Also, my impression was of bond as the cultured, polite, almost prissy persona as portrayed by RM. SC seemed somewhat neandertal in comparison.
Boy is that last sentence gonna piss someone off! Sorry! huh.gif
TooFarGone
It's Roger Moore for me. I dunno what it is, but I like those movies more.
Koriel
Sean Connery off course original.gif

And I think his son played the role of Ian Flemming in the film depicting Flemming's life...so Bond done by 2 generations (sort of).
tcgram
I voted for Sean Connery! There's just something about his Bond that is really cool.... yes.gif
Welsh Shaun
Sean Connery thumbsup.gif by a mile!

1. Sean Connery (the original and best)

2. Roger Moore (featured in the majority of movies, but had a lot of rubbish ones)

3. Pierce Brosnan (3 good movies, 1 god awful one)

4. Timothy Dalton (Living Dayslights was great, but with only 2 movies he's behind the others)

5. George Lazenby (The forgotten Bond, Her Majesty's Secret Service was RUBBISH movie, but I can't help but feel we might have regarded him in higher light if he'd been in a few more and hadn't been the unfortunately one who had to try an take over from Connery.

Daniel Craig... well he's yet to star in a single movie, so nobody can say anything about him yet.

After seeing Roger Moore as the Saint in the tv series, its hard to see him as James Bond... as hes really the same character in both....

Sean was by far the best bond.....
Megalomania
Connery then Brosnan. I don't know WHY Lazenby is in there.

My parents are always saying that, personally I'm not old enough to remember The Saint. tongue.gif

Im only a few years older then you sir tongue.gif

Actually it does help that my father hated Roger Moore, as he needed to wear a girdle (i think thats what they are called) whilst filming as bond.......

Anyhow Ive only seen a handfull of episodes of the saint....

Obviously. He was too old in DAF, and even more so in the unofficial Never Say Never Again.

QUOTE

You can say that again. I still feel that LALD and FYEO were his best. MR and AVTAK the worst.

3. Pierce Brosnan (3 good movies, 1 god awful one)

I liked TWINE best of his, with GE at a close second. DAD was bad becasue of overuse of special effects, plot with too many twists, and Halle Berry.

4. Timothy Dalton (Living Dayslights was great, but with only 2 movies he's behind the others)
LD is really good (John Rys-Davies!!), LTK was nice but not as good.

OHMSS is a good movie, but people would have thought it was great if it had had Connery in it. *Also didn't help that they got the "Spectre Trilogy" out of order. Moviegoers had gotten used to Connery, and in most peoples' minds he was Bond. I feel that Moore wouldn't have gone over so well if Lezenby hadn't taken some of the heat first.

He looks the part in my eyes, despite the dirty blond hair. I hope CR has more fist-fights and less death-rays than previous movies.

*The Spectre, or Blofeld Trilogy went: Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and You Only Live Twice. In the movies TB came first, then YOLT, and then OHMSS.
In the novels, Bond meets Blofeld for the first time in OHMSS under an alias. In the movie he does this also, but it is strange that Blofeld doesn't recognize him from the Volcano in YOLT. This is why I hate it when they mess with the order of the movies.

I agree, with that order, although I think Tomorrow Never dies was as good as Golden Eye. DAD was indeed one of the worse Bond movies EVER. It was bland, boring, over used special effects, blatantly ripped off many other bonds (e.g. Berry was introduced the same way as Honey; the doomsday cannon at the end was a merger of the Golden Eye meets the Diamond Ray Satellite from DAF etc), and Berry is one of the worse actresses on the planet.

This list forgets Woody Allan also played Bond in the first Bond movie - Casino Royal. Although given it was a spoof and not part of the current series, I can see why he’s been ignored.

I hate the whole "anniversary edition" feel to DAD.

I didn't like TND as much because Elliot Carver never seemed that "bad" of a bad guy to me. I like the cool, calculating villans like Drax, Blofeld, Renard, etc.

I believe it's Allen. He was Jimmy Bond, and Peter Sellers and David Niven shared the name James Bond in that movie also. In 1954 there was a made-for-TV movie of Casino Royale with Barry Nelso playing the American agent "Jimmy Bond". blink.gif
