The link below is to an MPG of an alledged UFO crash. I do not know anything about it. I downloaded it from P2P, but it is intriguing.

First off, does anyone have any more info on where and when it was filmed? (links to the original footage much appreciated original.gif ).

Second, it could be a meteor, but, the amount of 'debris' streaming from it seems inconsistent with that idea and the gasses issuing from it should have been consistant or at least present throughout its flight and destruction.

Third, it appears to follow the trajectory of a falling object at high speed, however, if you look at the 'smoke' trail, right before it impacts the ground, it shows a distinct 'upcurve'. If it were a free-falling body there would be no change in the trail - not even 'ground effects' would account for its change in orientation.

Fourth, when it does 'bounce', it keeps its flight 'orientation' intact. Even a little 'wobble' or adjustment can be seen in the flight arc during its flight to maintain orientation before the second impact.

Fifth, the initial impact throws up a huge amount of earth before the object makes its merry way onwards. tongue.gif. If this was a 'natural body', then it would have buried itself in the ground. It would not have 'bounced'. In one frame, it shhows clearly that the initial impact pushes a large amount of dust and dirt to the rear of its flight direction and none to the forward of its direction.

Actually, I would like to hear a rational explanation for this objects extremely strange behaviour first, before people wander down alternative avenues. Could be a rocket/missile?

I leave it to you. grin2.gif

Let me know what you think.

Albertus,

I have seen this video, but the quality is not nearly as good as what you provided.

From the site I found it on it mentions this about that video (along with their bad quality video of it)

"1997, New Mexico Desert. There are several of these crash videos floating around on the internet. This one originated from CSETI. It is purportedly from the deserts of New Mexico, USA. Not especially good quality, but worth seeing. An unknown craft slams into the ground, and takes a bounce or two before final impact. It then disintegrates into a large shower of debris. More information is needed in determining its authenticity"

Link: http://ufocasebook.com/bestufovideos2.html It is the 6th one down listed on there.

I have no idea what this was but it does not look like a meteor to me.
