Altocumulus Lenticularis, Rykster is correct here. It forms with the help of the 'wave' shapes of high-reaching mountains. This is a usual occurence in Mt. Shasta. It's beautiful, aside from the Mammatus that I've seen.
Although that, I've still seen some 'odd' so-to-speak Lenticularis cloud formations, those that resemble more to a gigantic Hindenburg cigar shape rather than the 'hat' design from this cloud. Still, it could be some other weather phenomena that we do not know yet, but to link it straight to the lenticulars is a lil....hasty I might say.
And badbadger, no it's not a strange natural occurence but rather thanks to the geographical features of the cloud's surroundings determined it. It's rare, but not strange just because we don't see them everyday with the other cumulus clouds.
