I think that people whould talk about the hauned houses that they have live in. Since I was 8 years old, I have always felt wierd in my house. I would never go in my sister's room because I felt dirty and scared, even now when I'm older I still feel the same way.

The house I am in now - its been in my family since the 40s. My stepdad shot himself stairs. Two of my cousins independently have reported the same figure, a few years back, guy in a simple greyish old-style work uniform, mustache, flattish hat, right in the doorway to my bedroom. Haven't seen or heard crap while I've been here - been here 10 years and lived here 20 before that, before moving.

I think everywhere you go is haunted. It depends on how psychic you are and how hard the spirit is trying to get into our plane.

That's terrible. I just had a thought. Can a spirit kill you with second hand smoke?

No but they bring smells to help identify themselves. Its like a very faint smell.

The smells aren't always faint, alot of them are very strong.
Have a spirit I call stinky, he smells like a dead skunk. When he pops in for a visit, I'll say "Hi Stinky,, know your here, you have to leave, the smell is horrible". Then the smell is gone.
I smell them cooking roast beef and other foods. Not neighbors, my neighbors are the fury, feathery creepy crawlies.
Today I got the scent of incence, very strong, means I'm going to hear about someone's death. No idea who it could be yet, but someone close to me, my brother or mother in law maybe. I'll know by the end of the week.

Have lived a couple of houses that you would class as haunted. The first was when i was about 4 or 5 that house had alot of activity slamming doors, swinging lights, floating lights, apparitions, tapping on windows ect. The one incident that sticks in my memory the most, was oneday in the garage (that was joined to the house) my father and i were in there and at the same time we both looked up at the manhole, as we did it floated up and hovered for a bit then flew off, as if it had been thrown(dad found it later on the other side of the roof).
The second house was only a couple of years ago. There wasn't any signs that it was haunted in the three years i lived there, but when we (my wife, two kids and myself) decided to leave strange things started to happen. One night i was sitting in the lounge room when my wife yelled "why did you throw that, i'm holding the bub"....i replied "throw what" . what had happened was that our 6 month old loved this toy train, used it like a dummy (pacifier) and it had flown in to the room and landed gently in my wifes hand. Things only got stranger after that. We'd be packing and you'd have a box ready to put things in and you would turn around and it would turn upside down, things would disappear and reappear in the wierdest places. Started hearing sobbing some nights but the kids were a sleep.
It was like the presence (i think a young girl 6-8 years old) didn't want us to leave.

That's true every spirit has their own smell that is associated to them when they were alive, my dad when he comes to visit I can always smell smoke(nobody in the house smokes),when my mom comes around I smell flowers.

My dorm room may be haunted. I've had a few odd experiences there. once i was alone in the room working on a design project and the room was completely quiet. then i heard the plastic hangers in my closet move, and when i looked up (the closet has no doors) i saw 2 or 3 of them swinging as if something had brushed up against them or something. the air was not on so there weren't any drafts, and the door was shut as well. no clothes had been hanging on the hangers, which might have fallen and made the noise. this same thing happened again, while me and my roommate were in our beds talking. once again the air wasn't creating a draft and the door was closed.
something that has really kind of creeped me out though is sometimes when i'd take a nap in the room, i'd wake up and swear i'd hear someone walking around the room. thinking it was my roommate, and that he maybe came in while i was asleep, i'd say something to him or i'd look over the edge of the bed (i'm on the top bunk) and no one would be there. this has happened probably about 3 or 4 times.
nothing has happened lately though, so that's cool.

Yeh that’s exactly what I meant my granfather brigns the tobbaco smell.
Mr.E something similar happened to me. I was in the shop were my mother worked alone in the night. Anyway I was just sitting in there and I could hear footsteps upstairs as if walking around. I told my mother and my father checked it out and nobody was up there. Just recently we went past the shop in the night and the lights were on upstairs. My father thought someone had broken in but nobody was there. He just said that somebody must have forgotten to turn the lights off. Which of course is possible but im pretty sure it’s haunted.

Weird, Carla. any history on the previous owners of the shop or anything? sounds pretty creepy to me.
