What do you mean you can't? It was a ghost. How is your "science" and your "logical thinking" going to help you now? BTW I liked your old sig better.

Well I think that one day ghosts can be explained scientifically, but I wasn't really implying scientific explanations.

When you say she got a call, did she in fact pick it up... Or did she miss it and look in missed calls for the number.
Sometimes if someone calls us and their number is set to "no caller id" it will come up saying call... and when the person clicks on the "number that called" button it would say "none"quickly, and then go to one default in the list... which could be your grandfathers number.

It was the grandfather's phone that rang. BTW I have to go soon. Gray's Anatomy is coming on.

Voicemail ? Sometimes i txt message or alerts saying i missed calls. I click them to get rid of them then turn my phone on a few days later and there back. I dont think its anything paranomal.

If she GOT a call to her cell, she was the one receiving the call.. hence her phone would have rung.

Do you have a verison? That is the most unreliable voicemail system.

I agree with the voicemail theory. My cell was out of order a few years back (on Vodafone if it makes a difference) I'd had to send the entire handset back for replacement via post. It took about 2 weeks for the new one to arrive (I'd kept the sim back) and during that time I recieved voicemail. When I activated the sim in the new handset I had three messages from my nan that had been saved while my phone was out of action.
WolfSpirit; you need to confirm the type of call or this thread will be pure speculation. We need more info to make further decisions

Also don't forget that Cell Companies aren't infalliable - they can take a while sometimes to process voicemails especially if the network is busy. If it's bugging you that much your mother can contact the Cell Company and ask for details of the call; I've done that before and they're normally pretty helpful

For instances such as this, one theory I heard is that voices being energy, and phone lines conducting energy can dissipate, and come back at a later time. For instance, you may answer your phone, and it COULD be a call someone dialed a few years ago, it's a left over energy source that has come around. Everything we say or do, is just energy being passed around.
At least, this is how science begins to prove how it is possible. I have heard stories about people receiving calls on there answering machine from dead relatives and so fourth. Once again, the only solution is that the energy was either lost, and finally came around, or it had come around a second time, in a dejavu fashion.

from my grandfather cellular that had NO BATTERY and
NO SERVICE 4 days AFTER my grandfather died. My grandfather
was dead when my mother got the call(It ring in my mother phone).
We use Centenial(Nokia phones) and all calls are stamped with time and date. It said
11/15/05 at 2243hrs, please remember my grandfather died 11/11/05
at 1100hrs. So here it is,the way it hapend !!
I think she got a call (missed call)from the other side!!
Is this possible?.

Was it a "live call" (so to speak) or a voicemail message? In other words was the conversation with him interactive or recorded?

That's so strange although I've heard of people receiving calls from recently passed away, but in general it's a missed called.

My mother heard the phone ringing but could not get

Sorry WolfSpirit, I should have been more descriptive. I meant live call as in did she hold a conversation with him rather than a missed call/voicemail, but you've answered that now
