QUOTE
URISK

Much like the classic SATYRS of ancient Greece, the Urisk is a bipedal, goat-like creature, which is said to display some simian features. Said to be curious and intelligent (both primate-like traits,) the Urisk was known to occasionally assist Scottish farmers in their daily chores.

Although these animals are considered to be generally benign, their appearance has been known to illicit a tremendous amount of terror from eyewitnesses. There is even one legendary tale in which a horrified Scott throws a pan full of hot embers into the shaggy beast's lap in order to ignite its hair and drive it off.

Even though this animal is often associated with the vast supernatural landscape, so often chronicled in European folklore, there have been some investigators who have indicated the (admittedly remote) possibility that the accounts of the Urisk may be examples of encounters with a rare species of horned primate. Although it is well known that there are no primates indigenous to the British isles, these animals - if they ever existed - may well have stowed away on any number of the trading vessels which traveled between, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
